It went well. The job was performed to the specifications laid out in the contract. It was finished on time with a professional work crew. My one quibble with them was how they dealt with our plants. They were less attentive to making sure the property was restored to its previous state. However, they fixed the issue promptly once it was raised. I would recommend GeoFreeze for foundation and engineering work.

Our experience with Geofreeze was excellent from start to finish. The office staff was incredibly responsive to all of our questions. The onsite crews were timely and professional. The end result of the project was excellent. I highly recommend Geofreeze.

John Schuster (the engineer) was very easy to work with. He came out and did a thorough inspection. He gave us an assessment at that time and followed with a report. In our case his opinion was that reinforcement was not required, and there was absolutely no sales pressure. We went ahead and had the work done so the wall could be insulated and finished. The technicians who performed the work showed up on time and completed the job ahead of schedule. All in all it was a positive experience.

John Shuster gave us a complete report that was accepted by the county and allowed us to remove two walls and bury a support beam in the ceiling. Shuster's extensive knowledge of building codes and tolerances gave us confidence that we could remove the walls without compromising the structural integrity of the house.

Geofreeze did an outstanding job from start to finish. The structural engineering review was clear and complete. The repair work was done exactly on schedule and according to the project specifications and price. The crew was very thorough in cleaning up and restoring the disturbed area in the basement and on the exterior of the house.

Geofreeze was outstanding to work with. I had serious structural issues (one foundational wall was bowing so badly it was sheering at the foundation, eventually this wall would have collapsed). I also had a side porch that needed underpinning and reinforced with carbon fiber, and a third foundational wall that needed reinforcement with carbon fiber to ensure it would not eventually sheer. All of this is caused by marine clay soil that expands and contracts with moisture. Geofreeze was recommended to me by multiple people and I am so happy I selected them to do the work. The entire staff was easy to work with - - from the engineer (John Shuster) who spent extensive time with me explaining the issues and whose report and contract was easy to understand. He corresponded with me throughout the project and answered all questions that I had. The office staff (Barbara and Maria) were also responsive and wonderful to work with. And I had the same experience with the contractors doing the work. The foreman answered all of my questions. The contractors left the work areas (my basement, my side driveway, and my backyard) neat at the end of the day and the work went on for nearly two weeks. I can't say enough about how positive my experience with Geofreeze has been. This is the only company that I have worked with on this issue that understood my issues, gave a sound plan for remediation, and a fair price for the work. I highly recommend this company.

I had other engineering assessments done and none were as thorough or clear about the problem to be fixed. I was anxious for the repair work to begin and Geofreeze took steps to expedite starting the work. The work was completed in less than the time estimated. When the work was competed, the grounds were left in impeccable condition; it was not possible to tell that the workers had been there. I was very pleased with the communications with me and the customer service. I highly recommend Geofreeze to others.

Superb. Wall crumbled after days of rain creating an emergency situation, threatening to weaken the houses foundation. Geofreeze mobilized a team immediately and w/in a few days installed temporary shoring, then built a new knee wall and column. Couldn't be more impressed or pleased, fabulous work, utmost professionalism.

We had contacted Geofreeze in 2007 because we noticed cracks in our block wall indicating foundation movement.  Mr. Shuster came to view the damage and gave us possibilities including to try cutting down a nearby tree.  We decided to cut the tree and see what happened.  After the earthquake in our area more damage was done and we contacted Geofreeze in 2015.  Mr. Shuster had our records from 2007 and waived the $500 inspection fee because we had paid it once before - that was eight years ago!  He had kept detailed notes and even remembered that the bedroom just inside was our daughter's bedroom.  It had completely changed.  Amazing memory!
He gave us two bids and we decided to go with the higher bid to have the most extensive work done.  The Geofreeze crew was very professional.  The put plastic down where they had to dig up the foundation and set up a temporary fence to keep people safe.  They said it would take one week and that is exactly how long it took.  The crew had permission to use inside facilities and there was not any sign that they had been there.  They also knew we wanted to take pictures during the process and would get us when they were at another phase in the process.  We watched the gauges with them and know that the underpinning was done correctly. When they completed the work you couldn't tell they had been there!
We know we got an excellent bargain from Geofreeze.  The men worked nonstop everyday in very cold weather.  We feel a lot better now that we've had the work done.  We would not hesitate to recommend Geofreeze to anyone needing foundation work.

From the first meeting with the owner and chief engineer, Mr. John Shuster, to the final cleanup of the work site I could not be more pleased. Mr. Shuster came to our home for a scheduled appointment on time to inspect the issue I was concerned with and wanted repaired. After a close and thorough inspection he provided a review of the damage and repair options, as well as an estimate of the cost and time to repair the foundation. A few days later I received a detailed written report discussing the inspection, options for the repair work and a cost estimate.
The work entailed repair of a crack from the ceiling to a concrete slab floor along the back wall of our garage. This is the lower portion of our home, specifically in the garage, and the crack was in the rear concrete block foundation wall along with an inward displacement of the wall, approximately 1 to 1-1/2 inches.
Once I reviewed the report, I called to set a date for the repairs and the crew arrived promptly on the date designated to begin work. Throughout the three days the crew was on site, they worked very hard and professionally to complete the work in the minimum amount of time and with no disruptions to us. The crew worked cleanly and maintained their materials and equipment in a specific location.
Once the repairs were completed, they cleaned up extremely well, as well as sweeping the garage floor and the portion of my driveway affected by the work. The work involved installing reinforcing bars inside the block and filling the concrete block with mortar. They affixed a metal header bar across the top of the wall and installed carbon fiber strips to the cracked portion of the wall and along an expanse of the wall away from the crack. The final work included painting Drylock across the back wall as well as to an adjacent wall. The repair work is excellent and the result looks as though there was no issue with the wall at all.
We are very pleased with GEOFREEZE, Inc. and recommend them highly.

John Shuster, the Structural Engineer with Geofreeze, came out to my house to assess a small crack that had developed in a foundation wall.  He was very thorough, and explained the results of his assessment completely and in language that a layman could understand.  He was also willing to answer all questions that I had.  Fortunately, the crack turned out to be the result of minor settlement and did not require remedial action.  But I felt better about proceeding with the other major work we planned in our house based on his experienced assessment of our situation.  I would definitely recommend Geofreeze for any structural engineering assessments that a homeowner might need.

Work started out well.  The work estimate based on an inspection of the crawl space assumed full access to the crawl space including under the kitchen area, but the workers found that space to be too shallow for access to do the shimming. This required us to pull up a good portion of the kitchen hardwood floor so the work could be done.  After the floor was removed (not by GeoFreeze) 8 of the joists were discovered to be failing due to water damage. GeoFreeze required more money to do "sistering" of the joists even though having access from the top was much easier than from the crawl space.  We paid the requested additional funds to GeoFreeze for the joist sistering and paid other contractors for the unexpected additional work of removing and replacing the kitchen hardwood.
The trench drains and the grills for the trench drains were late arriving which delayed the project a few days.
The crew was excellent.  They arrived on time, left the work site clean, were pleasant to work with and worked really hard to get this job completed.
We are delighted to have the storm water management system operational just in time to handle a tremendous amount of storm water from record rains that happened a few days after the work was completed.

Mr Shuster, the engineer and company president, did the assessment which was thorough and helpful. We hired the company to do the work (which was not urgently needed but the timing was good for us.) They did an excellent job.
