Franconia plumbing has been our plumber for years. They always do a great job for a reasonable price. Chris is professional, on time, and efficient. I wouldn't use any other plumber!

They've been here several times over the years. I've always been pleased with them. I've been using them for years and there has never been a problem.

My home warranty policy company directed me to Franconia Plumbing. I was able to get the first appointment the following business day. Chris, the plumber, arrived at 8:15 AM and the garbage disposal was replaced by 9:00 AM. Chris was courteous, professional and left the kitchen area spotless. I would highly recommend this company.

I love Franconia plumbing and have used them as my plumber since 2007. I found them as part of my home warranty company, but have called them back for a series of projects over the years. Sandra, who answers the phones and schedules the appointments, is always so nice and remembers me - even if it's been a year or two. (Amazing!) I usually get voicemail when I call, but she always calls me back in a reasonable amount of time. Chris, the plumber, is always nice and helpful. We live in a home built in 1925 and there are constant little problems. Over the years Chris has fixed small plumbing leaks in the ceiling, installed a faucet outside, fixed a toilet and replaced faucets. Franconia even did an emergency replacement of a water heater on Christmas Eve! Northern VA is full of unreliable help and people who love to raise the price just because of the neighborhood. It's so nice to have a company I trust. I highly recommend them.

We've been using Chris and his team for years now ... they're punctual, pleasant to work with, and will readily tell you when NOT to fix / alter / change something.

Called my home warranty company due to a problem with my drain stopper and they referred me to Franconia Plumbing to come over and see if the problem would be covered under the warranty and then repair it. I called Franconia and the only appointments they would offer were between 9-4 pm in two time slots (either 9-12 or 12-4 ) and only on weekdays. This meant taking a day off from work.
He then inspected the sink and called the warranty company who said It wasn't covered, which of course wasn't Franconia's fault. He gave me a estimate to fix the sink but he didn't have the parts with him so he couldn't actually fix anything. He then asked for 40 bucks for the 10 minutes he spend to tell me he couldn't fix it. AND I'd have to pay again for them to come back and actually fix the problem. I asked if they'd consider a slight discount against the estimate given I already paid for them evaluate the problem. They wouldn't budge.
Worse yet - after calling them several times to follow up Franconia never returned any of my calls to actually come fix it. When I spoke with receptionist she said she needed to speak with the plumber. I called again and was told they needed to order the parts. I called again and left a message and they didn't even bother calling back. At least have the courtesy to call back. In the end I wasn't annoyed about the 40 bucks, more so the fact I had to use vacation time and wasted a bunch of time to follow up. I now have to pay a different plumber to come out and deal with this.

I recently had a water pressure valve problem. The staff at Franconia plumbing was very attentive and worked with me to ensure they understood the problem so that they could send the right technician to perform the job. They were very professional and very responsive. When I made the initial appointment, I did not anticipate that things would go downhill rapidly and had to call them back for them to send someone right away. They immediately dispatch a technician which was a lifesaver. He arrived promptly and was very professional. After reviewing the problem, he came up with a solution and discussed it with me before he performed the work. He was diligent and definitely knew his craft. I was impressed by how thorough he was. When he finished the work, he cleaned up the area and provided instructions on how to operate the new water valve. If I have the need for plumbing services in the future, I would be sure to call Franconia Plumbing

Franconia Plumbing was referred to us via our home warranty company. The $60 is the standard fee we pay to providers per the home warranty agreement. We asked them to come out and look at our sump pump because it wasn't working. The plumber determined that the battery back up unit was defective and arranged for a new battery to be ordered. I emailed them after about a month to check on the status, and they responded to set up a time. The technician showed up with one large battery instead of four small ones, as originally configured. He said the new one was better because it had a higher output and installed it, despite misgivings we expressed to him.

After a couple of days, a foul sulfurous smell began permeating the house, growing stronger each day. It became so pungent that it woke our daughter up from sleep one night. We called the home warranty company to request a follow-up visit, which was scheduled for five days later. Luckily, the handyman who was in the house later that day recommended we call Washington Gas because he feared it might be a gas leak of some type. The Washington Gas technician ran his sensor thorough the house and found the source - the battery pack.

Apparently, due to the fact that Franconia Plumbing installed the wrong type of marine battery, the unit was overcharging and emitting a highly flammable gas - right next to our furnace (which, thankfully, was not yet active). Had the furnace been active, the gas tech told us, there was a very good chance the flame would have ignited the battery gasses. The warranty company sent a different company out immediately, and they have ordered the correct parts. When we emailed Franconia, their response was, and quot;Goodmorning, Thank you for your email. I am glad everything is fine now.and quot; We do NOT recommend them.

Our cost was only the deductible from our Home Warrenty. I am not sure what the total cost would have been. Some of the communications issues may have been due to the fact that we were working through the Home Warrenty. The caulking around the replacement pieces is now coming apart, so I'm questioning the quality of the work or products used to complete the job. We may need to contact them again to assess these recent changes. When working directly with Franconia, customer service and technicians were courteous, attentive and professional.

My home warranty company put me in contact with this company for a knocking sound in our kitchen faucet and possible leak in our basement pipes. I assume they sent an employee, since it was not the same person who is listed as the owner of Franconia. That day there was very bad weather, so it took him a while to get to our house, but as soon as he got out of his truck, he complained loudly about the icy conditions and the fact that I hadn't put down "enough salt" for him to walk safely up the driveway. (The driveway HAD been salted, but there was still a lot of ice that hadn't yet melted.) Once he was inside the house, he was gruff and curt with me. I have a dog - usually I ask people if they're ok with dogs because I'm happy to put the dog in another room. He didn't say anything to me about it, but as soon as the dog came near to sniff his shoes, he cursed at the dog and nearly kicked him. After that, it all just went downhill. He glanced briefly under the sink and told me that I needed a new faucet, but since I didn't have a new fixture already purchased, he couldn't do anything more for me. I mentioned that I was concerned about possible leaking also in the basement, to which he curtly responded that, no, the kitchen faucet was the problem. He wouldn't even go look at any of the plumbing in the basement. I really just wanted him out of my house at that point, so I paid him the $40 fee he requested for looking at the faucet in order to get him out of my house. I won't ever be calling this company again, since I've found plumbers who are far more professional and courteous since then.

They did the work and gave me good recommendations. I believe that they found some work that was not necessary, and they let me know that too. They were punctual and responded well.

I had never used a plumber before so I don't know if the price was fair. They did a very good job and I wouldn't mind hiring them again. He was able to do the job and he did it without making too much of a mess. He managed to do what he needed to do without making a large hole in my ceramic tile.

I had a couple slow drains and requested service through my home warranty. They put me in touch with Franconia plumbing. Since it was the weekend I left a message and they were going to call me back on Monday to set up an appointment. However on Sunday the conditions in my house significantly changed - the main waste line became clogged - which left me unable to use water in my entire home. I called them Monday morning first thing and they prioritized my call and were at my house within 20 minutes. I was very pleased with their responsiveness. In addition to clearing the clog in my main waste line they also cleared a couple other slow drains. I am not sure how much this work would ordinarily cost as I was only responsible for a $60 deductible under the home warranty. Overall my experience was posiitve.

The plumbers arrived on time to complete the work and I discovered that there wouldn't be enough room in the driveway for their vehicles and those of the electricians currently working at the house. I started clearing snow from an additional area of my driveway, and though they already had a spot in the driveway, one of the plumbers grabbed a shovel and helped me clear out an additional spot for the electrician who would soon be back from a supply run- totally above and beyond the call of duty! They then proceeded to complete the work we had agreed upon. Halfway through the job, I went downstairs and realized I had neglected to specify that I wanted the new garbage disposal to be installed on the other side of the sink from where the old one had been. Despite the fact that they had to cut all new pipes to make this happen, they did it with a smile, and though I offered additional money to compensate for the time and materials they stuck to the original quote. Everything else went over without a hitch and I continue to be very impressed with their professionalism and customer service. This was my second time using them in the past month or so, and I will continue to use them for my plumbing needs in the future.

Called home warranty company for a broken water heater and they had me call Franconia plumbing. Called at 2:30 on a Friday and they got back with me by 4, had two plumbers out at 11 the next morning (within the 8-12 time window). They got to work on the water heater right away and I asked one to come give an estimate on some other work that needed to be done in the house. He offered to do the drain cleaning in one of the bathrooms on the spot while his partner worked on the water heater. The drain was cleared and flows beautifully, and all components of the water heater were tested and the problem found to be electrical in origin. They charged us $40 for the service call and $125 for the drain cleaning. They were very friendly professional and efficient throughout the service. Would definitely use them again.

I had used Franconia before and they were the lower quote. They came and tried to fix, but were unable to because of unique plumbing runs in old house. They came back, had to perform 1 hour of cutting pipes and investigation to get drain cleaner machine to work. They unclogged pipes, got everything to drain and then honored the original quote they gave me. I offered to pay them more because I could tell they went beyond what they thought they would do, but they refused saying their original quote was were they stood.
