Fina Construction Inc. is a quality oriented building and remodeling company in the Mt. Vernon area of Alexandria, Virginia (zip codes 22306, 22307, 22308 and 22309). We specialize in kitchen and bathroom remodeling, and renovation and repair to the distinctive houses of the Hollin Hills neighborhood. We have completed everything from award-winning nationally recognized renovation projects to small handyman-type repair jobs. By keeping skilled craftsman on staff for most trades, rather than sub-contracting, we are able to keep complicated jobs running efficiently, and ensure the highest level of quality control. Once a job starts, our approach is to work on that job continuously, without interruption, until the job is completed. Careful attention to detail during the planning stage minimizes delays and changes during construction. They're the gold standard as far as I'm concerned when it comes to their quality of work. The installers are very competent, knowledgeable, and are responsive if a problem arises. They have reasonable prices and are great at keeping you in the loop.

The technicians do very high quality work, especially the electrical and carpentry work, and are professional and reliable. I don't think there is anything they can't fix! My only objection is the price. They are very expensive, more than other contractors.

I reached out to Fina Construction first because they clearly do a lot of work in my neighborhood (Hollin Hills). The owner, Robert, came by quickly to discuss the job and sent me a prompt estimate. I did some other research, and though their price was very fair - especially for a small local company! They started the job soon after I accepted the quote. I was we'll-prepared for the process - told when they start and stop each day, how long it would take, etc. they started on time each day, and left everything tidy at each day's end. As expected, everything was done to perfection. That should all be expected when you pay professionals. What I was most impressed with was the team of men who did the job. They were polite, friendly, great people! I had to be at the house at times when they were working because I have a toddler who needs to nap, etc, so it's the worst when you have contractors who are weird, or crass, or smell like smoke, in your house. The Fina team were none of that. It was a pleasure having them around for three days and a longer project would be no sweat. I will use them for any other projects that come up. First class operation!

Robert Fina and his crew recently completed some remodeling work at our home. We have had Fina Construction work on other projects for us in the past and we appreciate the quality of the work and the professionalism of his crew. When a problem arose, Robert presented options that would work. The project was completed on schedule and within budget, and the work was excellent. We look forward to having Fina Construction do some additional remodeling work for us in the future.

We were new to the Alexandria, VA area, but needed a few things done to our newly purchased home. After consulting with a few neighbors and reading reviews on Angie's list, we selected Fina Construction for the job. Robert Fina came out to our house and helped us think through the details of the projects. Within a day or so, he sent us an estimate for the work. It was more than a month before we could begin the work (we needed approval from our local review committee), but as soon as we were ready to go, they gave us a start date. Over the course of six or seven days, we watched as Fina?s craftsmen did their meticulous work. Their competency and attention to detail is among the best we?ve seen (and we?ve seen a lot of contractor?s work). They cleaned up everyday after their work was done, and ensured that our house was completely functional during the construction work. And all of Fina?s workers were courteous, polite, and respectful.
I wouldn?t hesitate to use them again and would heartily recommend them for all types of building, remodeling, and other contracting work.

The work was done as specified in the contract. Their people were at work continuously without interruption. They consulted me on details not specified and were very cooperative. Fina provided me photos of the finished drain replacements. Which replacements I inspected separately.

We had purchased a house that had been poorly renovated by previous owners. Fina construction did an excellent job of coming in fixing and utilizing the existing cabinets and other compenents. The upgraded the electrical and plumbing. They worked closely with the countertop people to ensure the countertop were right design and perfectly installed. The project was well done, timely, and within our budget.
During this renovation, they ensure that we had the ability to use our kitchen during construction. Their workers are professional and very careful in protecting other areas or personal belonging. They also worked with us to make sure that our cats would not be able to access the area during construction.

Fina responded within 24 hours to my request for an estimate. Less than 72 hours later, the job was completed and the damaged portion of the roof looked like new.
I've used Fina Construction now for jobs as small as this and as large as repairing major damage caused by a hurricane. In each case, the company has been responsive and delivered precisely what I contracted for. His staff is totally professional, do great work, and leave the place as neat as can be.
I've heard people say Fina is expensive. He's certainly not dirt cheap, but that has not been my experience overall -- and I believe I've gotten what I've paid for, with no disputes or arguments or any other sort of negative result. What more can you ask for?

Contractor surveyed the worksite before offering an estimate. Once work was scheduled we arranged a convenient time and work began promptly. The workmen were quiet, courteous and cleaned each area of debris and dust at the end of each day. The project was done with efficient use of time, and the outcome was optimal. We are extremely pleased, and whenever possible will use Fina Construction for future projects.

I left Mr. Fina a message on Saturday or Sunday, and he was at my house giving me an estimate first thing Monday morning. His estimate was very fair, and he seemed to know what he was talking about, so we scheduled the repair for a day or two later. Two very professional and friendly workers arrived at my house on time on the scheduled date, and they did a great job with the repair. Final price was slightly above estimate but was still very fair for the fine work. I definitely plan to use Fina Co. in the future for home repair needs.

Excellent. Robert Fina's employees and the flooring subcontractors did an outstanding job. They were very professional, competent and cooperative. They were also very prompt and efficient and went out of their way to to ensure that we were pleased with the final product. The only slight glitch in the project was a delay in receiving the carpet selection -- but this was solely due to a delay by the carpet manufacturer and not something that our contractor could change.

Robert Fina gave us an estimate that we thought was very fair (originally $2300 but we decided to have additional repairs done) to remove and replace the bad or wrong-color mortar, remove the mortar nails and to seal the chimney cap. The areas with repaired mortar are almost invisible. The Fina crew started on schedule and finished the work in less than a week, working every day. Mortar removal is unavoidably dusty, but they were careful in the planted areas around the house and cleaned up the site pretty well.

We have a 60 year old Hollin Hills home, and this is Fina's speciality -- they are very knowledgeable about the quirks in the fireplaces. We did a price comparison and they were competitive. They came out promptly for the estimate. We made an appointment and they were quite punctual. The did very good professional service and didn't take all day. I would definitely recommend Fina.
