EP employees are as sweet as can be. I've had enough conversations with them to know but sweet definitely isn't enough to get the job done. Over the course of last season there was much, much miscommunication with EP: in the spring they came to mow the lawn the morning AFTER I'd had it seeded! (there I stood in my jammies for the whole neighborhood to see, screaming for EP to stop mowing what wasn't there in the first place to mow!); once the lawn finally matured, they persisted all summer in cutting the grass too short; then in the fall they failed to show up to mow one last time before the leaves really piled up, though I'd phoned several times about this. They never did do the final mowing. When they did show up to collect the leaves the crew had to squeeze me in between other jobs, which forced them to work on my lawn well past dark, not exactly optimal conditions for leaf removal and lawn clean-up. To help them see what it was they were doing I ended up running lights and extension cords around the yard and equipping some of the men with flashlights. I had a contract with EP so I really felt stuck here. Now to EP's credit, they did the work and more or less, did a good job, but there was a lot of phone calling back and forth and much confusion before that happened. I paid them in full the amount that I contracted for. They did, after all, do the work and I thought, well, that's the end of that. But now today in the mail comes another bill, this one for $250, though who can say what it's for. There's no explanation and of course I have no intention of paying it. So, sigh, I'll be back on the phone with EP, sorting this out. My impression is that, sweet as they are, they are way, way, way, way, way over extended and have more clients and jobs than they can reasonably handle. Plus, the crews are almost entirely Spanish speaking, which compounds the trouble.
