Auto Body Work
I brought my car to East Coast Collision on a recommendation from a coworker. While it took a little bit of time to get the car in for service, the end product was fantastic. I inquired on the cost of refinishing a few other body panels since my wife's car is scratched up, and the owner was very honest, and told me up front what the coast would be per panel - which was out of my budget. I will use them again in the future!

After being hit by another driver we went to East Coast to have our vehicle repaired. This service was fantastic, they fully explained the repairs, dealt with the insurance company and the body work was fantastic. By far the best Body Shop we have ever dealt with! A very professional and customer service oriented company.

My vehicle was in a collision in which another driver rear-ended me while I was at a stoplight. The other driver freely admitted being at fault and provided me with personal information and an insurance contact. The other driver's insurance agent contacted me very soon after the collision and offered me the names of several local auto body repair shops at which I could have the damage to my vehicle repaired, at the insurance company's cost. I read reviews, including those on Angie's List, of the various body shops suggested, and selected East Coast Collision in Alexandria, VA (http://www.eastcoastcollision.com/index.html).
I called the shop to set up an appointment for inspection of my vehicle. The amount of obvious damage was not extensive but Peter Festekjian, who made the inspection, noted that there could be other hidden damage and they wouldn't know what they faced until beginning repairs. I made an appointment to drop off the vehicle a few days later for repair. East Coast Collision provided me with an initial estimate of the cost of repair, making it clear the insurance company would be responsible for the entire payment. The body shop also offered to arrange for a rental vehicle at no cost to me, which I declined since my wife and I have another vehicle and I use mass transit to commute to work..
I dropped off the car a few days later. East Coast Collision kept me very up-to-date by telephone. They discovered extensive additional damage behind the rear bumper and advised me that repairs would take longer than originally anticipated. (They noted that my vehicle, an SUV, was "a tank" and that the other driver must have hit me awfully hard to cause the amount of damage they found.) The total repair cost more than quadrupled compared with the initial estimate but, again, the expense would be covered by the other driver's insurance company.
When I eventually was able to pick up my vehicle I was very pleased (read: amazed) with their repairs. I swear my vehicle looks better than when I bought it used. They gave me a full report that listed all of their work and they did more than I expected. They definitely went above and beyond in satisfying this customer. Granted, the repairs were on someone else's dime and I wasn't going to short-change myself in having my vehicle repaired to my satisfaction. But in the future, if I ever have need of auto body repair, whether it comes out of my pocket or not, I'll head back to East Coast Collision without hesitation. They were very professional, they treated me very well, kept me well-informed, and they did a first-rate repair job.

Rafi did a good job explaining the estimate of the work to be performed and the vehicle repairs exceeded our expectations when finished

Overall, a good experience with excellent customer service. The insurance adjuster was helpful, communication was pro-active and excellent, the service was completed in a timely manner, and the car looks great.
I spent about 5 minutes in the waiting room while the insurance adjuster looked at the damage to my car. The walls are covered with satisfaction letters from owners of older, "economical" cars like mine, as well as much fancier cars. There is coffee and a window on to the shop floor.
The estimate was explained to me, along with when they could have the parts in, begin work, and have the work completed. I was offered an Enterprise rent-a-car. A couple of times. Even though I explained that, because this shop is a short walk to the Van Dorn Metro, and because I don't use the car to commute, I did not want a rental car.
The repair was completed in the same time as estimated. There was a little jar of paint included at the end.

Dropped the car off Monday afternoon, was given an estimate on the spot. There were two options: Cheap fix of pulling the bumper out and trying to smooth out the scratches or the "do-it-right" fix by removing the bumper and repainting it. I tried the quick fix first, and even though it looked really good, I could still see the effects of the damage, so I decided to go with the more expensive fix. The car was finished by Wednesday and looked like new! They did an incredible job and they didn't charge me for the first cheap fix attempt. Very professional, extremely friendly. Like family.
