Dahlquist Studios Inc

We hired Dahlquist Studios to build a pantry and desk to our exact specifications. The pantry has pullout drawers and the desk has filing drawers, as well as a bookshelf. The interior of the cabinets are prefinished maple. The exterior and desktop are maple.
Jeff worked with us to achieve our vision of a two tone built in ? we originally wanted each door to be two toned, but after discussing it with Jeff, we decided to modify our project. He used a lighter stain that is very close to our existing cabinets on the cabinet doors and drawer fronts. Then he used a darker stain (Bordeaux) for the bookshelves, desktop, and pantry sides. The entire built in has the two toned look that we were trying to get.
Another feature we like is that all the drawers glide in when they close ? you can?t slam them shut.
Installation took about 6 hours ? Jeff was here most of the time and only had to leave to pick up some pieces he forgot ? almost everything was assembled on site. The other person working with Jeff was polite and professional. There was a sawdust residue in the area they were working in when they left, but that's to be expected when with doing cutting certain wood pieces to exact specification on site.
All of our communication with Jeff was straightforward and clear and we appreciated that.
Overall, compared to other estimates, we are very pleased with the functionality and aesthetic of what we purchased from Dahlquist. We've received several compliments from family and friends and we think this is going to add value to our condo.
We would definitely recommend at least talking to Dahlquist Studios about what they can do with regards to custom cabinetry and built-ins.
