CONTINUUM ENERGY SOLUTIONS

Frustratingly, the company (Ken Baake of Continuum Energy Solutions) can't conduct the duct blaster as advertised by Angie's List and in which I was most interested. Mr. Baeke told me that he told Angie's List some time ago to remove that feature (duct blaster) of the service in the announcement. I wasted my time ordering this service and my credibility in Angie's List is diminished. How would you try to restore my credibility in Angie's List?

They are quite good. They definitely do good work. They do solar and I know that they are on Angieslist. They did a great job of making it only $50 through the state government. They have been very responsible and definitely competent. They are one of the remarkable companies that tell you that you can save money if you can save money rather than charging you the highest price. Their responsiveness is very good. They are on time. They are very professional.

They were concerned about saving energy and money. Their mission is to be energy-efficient in their product. They know about solar panels and innovative energy-saving products for the household.

Truly an epic disaster. I really feel this company is simply out for publicity and not concerned with the quality of their work. Continuum conducted an energy audit in April. Prior to receiving the report, I received a call from Chad who asked if they could come over to the house and start some of the weatherization for free so it could be recorded by a CNN camera crew. When I asked to see the report before I agreed to the work, they decided it wasn't worth the time and sent me the report later that day. Even after that, I still contracted with them to weatherize my house and install new insulation. They were supposed to show on a Friday afternoon but didn't and didn't even call. They arrived the next morning along with the insulation company they subcontracted. The weatherization work is shoddy at best, door seals on the attic doors fell off after one day, other seals were too big for the door space. Foam boards for the basement were not properly cut or properly fitted in the space. They used an inappropriate mastic on air ducts and admitted afterward that it was the wrong product. The insulation company damaged part of my ceiling when blowing in the insulation. I was told by Chad on numerous ocassions that they would fix my ceiling, but they failed to do so. After waiting several weeks, I had it fixed. Chad also promised to give me a refund for an air conditioning cover that I did not receive and for the improper mastic, but that has yet to arrive after 4 weeks. Chad likes to apologize profusely and state that things are going to change, but he simply cannot be trusted.

When they came out and removed the first board, they saw that there wasn't an air gap there as expected. They recommended that the cost would be high for just updating my trim without getting an efficiency benefit, and they didn't think any of the windows would likely have the air gap. So, they stopped work and were very reasonable about a full refund. They put the first window trim piece back up and recaulked it, and I did have them replace a giant caulk plug with a piece of wood in one window that they were planning to fix. I was very happy with their professionalism, honesty, and how easy they were to work with.

The installation had some minor glitches, but they resolved every concern. With Federal, State, and other tax breaks, these energy improvements will pay for themselves eventually and we are using fewer carbon emitting power sources. Time will tell, but over the long haul, we think this may have been the smartest upgrade we have ever done to our home.

After hearing all the buzz from friends and neighbors about solar power in my home I decided to move forward with improving my homes energy efficiency, as well as saving myself a pretty penny in utility bills. I was turned on to Continuum Energy Solutions (ces-va.com) and after reviewing their web page and researching many others, I decided to give them a call for an Energy Audit. Promptly after the initial audit, I received a complete Energy Audit proposal and a “Recommendations and Costs” sheet so I wasn’t blindsided with any additional costs. I have since scheduled remediation and installation with the company and have been provided with additional information regarding many State and Federal tax credits and rebates, so my quoted price has drastically dropped. My experience with the company has been a great one as well as life changing. I would definitely recommend the company to anyone interested in similar services!!!
