I found the process to be very insightful and effective. I was asked to answer a series of questions as they pertained to my existing resume, and then based on my answers and our follow up conversation, the resume was rewritten. The process really helped me to remember many of my accomplishments over the past years which in turn helped me during interviews. I also liked the new style and format that was provided. As a seasoned professional who spent many years with the same company, a chronological resume did not well reflect my accomplishments. By re-organizing my resume by skill areas, I was better able to showcase my talents. For anyone looking to change careers, jump start their job search, or just gain the self-confidence to put yourself back out on the job market, I believe that reworking your portfolio with Career Valet is a great first step.

I have to say that before I contacted Career Valet and first started to look at job openings, I was completely intimidated. I knew that I was qualified for many positions, but didn't know how to show that with my mix of experiences over the last several years. I'm really glad that I reached out to Career Valet because I think that not only is Marcelle great at her job, but she also has an extra special understanding as a spouse of an FSO. If you want to excel your resume, you must hire Career Valet. I cannot recommend Career Valet more to everyone that is looking for a real help to either start a resume from scratch or overhaul an existing one. From the very first email, thru the call and subsequent communications, Marcelle was very professional listening to all my comments and even providing useful insights. She was able to highlight the milestones and achievements that I have achieved during my professional career, that I'm sure will help me next time I'm looking for new professional challenges. Marcelle did a fantastic job. The resume that I received was beyond my expectations. There was a good deal of front end work on my part, but that was all part of the process of them getting to know my work experience and to put together a resume that fits. After I received the finalized resume, I paid an additional fee to have her review my LinkedIn page and offer suggestions. She put together a Word file with categorized content to be pasted on to my profile. I am very happy with the service I received. I would use them again and recommend them to my friends and family.

I initially thought that this service would just improve my resume and Linkedin profile. It actually ended up accomplishing much more than that. It all started with an approximately 45 min phone call. Marcelle Yeager, who worked with me on this, had a number of insightful questions to understand exactly what I do and how I do it. The call in itself was a wonderful experience, I really had a great opportunity to reflect and internalize all my accomplishments and skills I've gained throughout my career. Then, Marcelle sent me a draft for the resume and cover letter. After finishing those documents, Marcelle overhauled my Linkedin profile. Working with Marcelle was a fantastic experience. She was able to organize all the information she gathered about my career and crafted into a clear and professional resume that spoke to my peers in my industry. While Marcelle's help was entirely priceless in generating these document, and more importantly, the process itself made me realize my actual worth. I was actually surprised I never saw before how far I have come in my career and how much more I could accomplish. Less than a month after I worked with Marcell, I was able to get a job in a big multinational company at a much higher level than I was before. This transition with a promotion in my career ended up increasing my salary by over 30%. But most importantly, I feel much more confident in taking on the next set of challenges my new career path delivers.

I am really happy with the advice and editing provided by Marcelle. She took time to talk to me to try to understand my needs, my experiences, and what my goals were. I have asked Career Valet several times to help me revamp my resume, usually when I was preparing to apply for a new job or fellowship. I've never been disappointed. Marcelle is an absolute gem to work with. She is professional, sends back edited drafts quickly, responds promptly to questions, and has wonderful insights about how to best show employers that you are the right person for the job. Also, my resume writing skills were somewhat antiquated; I was still using templates from high school. Marcelle was able to help me to include web links to important work I'd done, while advising me to leave out more mundane information that didn't demonstrate why I was the best candidate for the job. She's well-versed and up-to-date on what employers want to see in a resume. She's also really good at helping you showcase your skill sets instead of titles; this is especially valuable if you're considering a career change. I've referred several friends and family members to Marcelle for resume services over the last few years, and they have also been pleased with her work. I cannot recommend Marcelle and her team enough.

Very well. I had not needed a new resume in almost 13 years and felt overwhelmed by the idea of getting mine up to date for current expectations. I was also uncertain about how best to make the most of my Linked In profile. Marcelle spent a good bit of time both on the phone and in emails becoming familiar with me, my work experience, skills, goals and gifts. She helped me think through potential interview topics and the process was extremely beneficial in preparing me to move forward in a job search. The finished product was professional and I felt it presented me in the best light. The documents were mine though to do with as I needed so I was able to continue to tailor them, when needed, during the search process. The same is true of the Linked In updates she provided. I would highly recommend this service for someone like me that is in need of major updates or looking to change career fields.
