At this point, I think I will be contacting my Attorney to sue American Home Shield for the following:
1. $400 + My warranty cost for not resolving the service request
2. $700 that I alreay paid to ATR (America Home Shield contractor)
3. $389 that I alreay paid to Michael and Son due to America Home Shield's negligence
4. $6000 +- for AC replacemtnt
5. $2190 / month for rental loss unit I can rent it out again
6. Cost to re-rent the property and advertisement
7. Attorney cost
8. $ for my lost time from work for every time that I had to leave my job to come to the work site
9. $ for all the inconvenience and issues that were caused by them including all the unpleasantness that I had to go through with my family (particularly my wife) and aggregations that the whose situation caused me.
10. $ Cost of signing up at Angie's List to write a the worst review I ever wrote for a warranty company or service provider.
Next is filing the complaint with Better Business Bureau and Virginia State Commission as American Home Shield does business in Virginia. I will also write this on Facebook and ask everybody to Share so that people know these crooks and American Home Shield can see what an angry customer can do for their business.
Not to mention, today the customer service representative Brandon was not very friendly and basically told me (not in so many words but) to screw myself as I am stuck between them not serving me and me not being able to have the issue resolved by 3rd party.
So, I think its time that I take the matter in my hand and talk to my Attorney and send them notice and bills.
I already wrote review in Angie's list which is in queue and will show up in 24 hours. I am also filing a complaint with Better Business Bureau and Virginia State Commission. Facebook status will reflect this too.
We have a home warranty with AHS (American Home Shield), and when our Honeywell thermostat failed, it had to be replaced. Mariam in ATR's office made sure that we received a thermostat that was of equal quality to the one that had been original equipment in our house. We required only that the non-programmable thermostat be relatively quiet and that it display both the Current temperature and the Set temperature. (Many digital thermostats display only the Current temperature, and one must press a button to change the display to show the Set temperature. Touching the button causes the heat or A/C to come on prematurely, because the thermostat senses a difference between the Current and Set temperatures sooner than it would have otherwise, which wastes energy and results in excessive wear and tear on the HVAC system.)
Mariam listened carefully to our technical and scheduling requirements, and made sure that ATR fulfilled them. ATR's technician showed up on time and installed a Honeywell FocusPRO 5000 (TH5110D1022), which serves our needs perfectly.
The $75.00 cost is the price of our deductible with AHS. I am not sure what the price would be for this service without the home warranty.
