They built my machine in 2008. At that time it was
pretty close to as top of the line as you could get.
Because of that, it is still quite serviceable today.
If you are looking for a shop that knows the ins and
outs of computers, I would go here before best buy or
Microcenter.

My computer was completely operational, but I wanted to upgrade some of the hardware. The parts were reasonably priced. After they had the system, they tried to triple the estimated time that it would take to do the work (the scope of work had not changed). After reminding them of the original estimate, they still took longer than initially indicated, but they completed the work in a reasonable amount of time.
The issues started when I went to pick up my computer, they installed a part that was twice the cost of the part I requested (I confirmed the part over the phone when they had the system as well). I asked for them to remove the new part and replace it with the one originally requested. They did this within 5 minutes while I was waiting at the counter (which led me to wonder why they tried to keep my system for so many days...).
I started getting the BSOD, hanging, and spontaneous shutdowns immediately. I took it back to the shop. They said there was nothing wrong with it, but they performed (and charged me for) a service that I didn't need and had specifically and repeatedly refused while in the store and over the phone.
The issues continued. I showed them the BSODs that I got and asked them to look at the event log. They directed me to a Window support page that did not apply to the specifications for my computer. After I told them that it did not apply to my situation, their communication dropped off.
When I got there, he told me that my laptop had been infected with the FBI virus, a very dangerous one, but by using several types of antivirus software, he had identified it and and removed it. So my Protege was again working well and I had lost no data.
He also told me that he had checked my backup drive and that it had significant problems. He said that he could probably be able to recover my data from it but it was not usable for my backup. I told him not to bother because the data on my laptop was all that I needed. I told him to junk that drive and said I wanted to buy a replacement. He then showed me several and I chose a good, fast one that would meet my needs and cost $59.90.
He only charged me the $99 for the diagnostic on my laptop and waived the $60 fee for his work on my backup drive because I had bought the replacement one from him. I considered that a bargain and told him that I was very grateful.
In summary, Advanced 2000 fixed the problem that the top customer help techs from a major internet security company did not. They did it by the time I needed my laptop again, as promised, and for a bargain price. Most important of all, they saved all my data.
