"Thank you for leaving a review Mr. [Member Name Removed]! We always try to beat the heat especially on those extra hot days! We are glad we could avert any crisis and if you need assistance in the future please feel free to reach out!"
"Dear [Removed member name], Thank you so much for your kind words, we really appreciate the opportunity to serve you. Thank you,"
After coming home from work I found that the unit was installed and the work was proceeding well. My wife also confirmed that they day had gone well and that they were very polite as she worked from home.
Lupe informed me on my arrival that the duct that was ordered did not come in the right size, which might sound like a problem or headache, but he had a temporary solution so as not to affect my life. Which was awesome. He modified the old duct work so that we would have heat until the next day when the duct came in. Also, the "Nest" thermostat was not acting correctly. Again, sounds like a headache, but Lupe had a solution he wired up the old thermostat and said he would get a brand new Nest to ensure this one was not defective. Furthermore, he was going to contact tech support to ensure that there were no other problems with the thermostat moving forward.
Two days later as scheduled, Lupe and his 495 HVAC team where on site. I don't use the term team loosely either. I was impressed by him using 3-4 technicians throughout the entire project so things went well and nothing felt rushed. This time I returned from work after leaving them alone in my home, something that I had no fear doing and would do again with the 495 HVAC team.
The A/C was in, they had put in a new pad with level and gravel. They replaced the copper line to the unit because it was not the appropriate size. Lupe informed me that there would be no additional cost for this. Additionally, to ensure proper compliance with building codes Lupe and his team were able to fish a line through the ceiling in my basement with out putting any holes in the ceiling When they told me there plan for doing this the first day, I was skeptical, but was later very impressed at there technique of using a plastic conduit pipe. Furthermore, for the humidifier they didn't use a cheap saddle valve, which always leak. They installed a brand new ball valve to ensure no issues moving forward.
So if you aren't impressed with them by now, there is more. They got the new duct that was needed to ensure the most efficient flow of air and used duct seal on all the accessible duct areas to ensure maximum flow and efficiency.
Now lets talk about the piping for the unit. They took the extra time to setup the piping to ensure the maximum amount of space in my cramped laundry room.
Lastly, they are going to contact me in the summer to just do a last double check on the A/C unit before starting it up in the summer, just to ensure everything is working well.
****Bottom line- you want a competent, friendly and competitively priced contractor you need to hire 495 HVAC and ask for Lupe!***
My problem was a non-functioning heat pump, one that was at least 15 years old. I first sent them an email requesting their help in evaluating a replacement system I was interested in purchasing and to see if they could do the installation. After some meaningful discussions, I asked 495 HVAC to come to the house to assess my system and come up with the best solution to my problem ? replacing an old, inefficient system with something a bit more modern and energy efficient. Lupe came by and spent a long time looking at the current system and talking to me in detail to ensure he understood all of my needs and concerns. I never felt rushed, nor did I feel he was ?driving? me to just one particular system. After only one day, I received an email from JC who gave me several options to my problem. He didn?t force me into a corner, but gave me some choices between systems and services. After a few more questions, I chose the 16 SEER Carrier Infinity system. It was a bit more costly than the system I originally considered purchasing, but the unit matched perfectly with my requirements ? efficient, quiet, 10 year warrantee, etc.
In just a few days after my deposit, the team came back out to the house to remove my old unit and install the new. Tarps were laid down over my floors and that turned out to be a good thing ? as the removed the coil from the inside unit, it literally disintegrated into a rusty mess as they hauled it up and out of the house! They took great effort and care to properly install the new unit. In fact, when they went to install the outside unit, they noticed that the small fence we built around the condenser to ?hide? it. It turns out that fence would make the install too difficult for them as carrying the units over the fence would be
impossible. So, they carefully disassembled part of the fence, removed the old unit, installed the new and then rebuild the fence without so much as a single board looking misplaced! Oh, and the cost of that extra carpentry was not added on as an unexpected labor cost.
After only a day, the unit was installed. The system runs perfectly. It is as quiet as promised and it is evenly cool evenly throughout my home, something that I could not say with my previous unit. They also installed the new thermostat that lets me control the unit via my iPhone no matter where I am in the country via WiFi. I am very pleased with both the system Carrier unit and the profession manner in which 495 HVAC handled this system installation. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family.
When you need help with your heating and air conditioning system, I recommend you include 495 HVAC on your short list of vendors you invite in for a quote for installation and/or service. I am sure you won?t be disappointed!
I had a great experience with the 495 HVAC crew and would highly recommend them. They are very aware of the "Angie's List effect" and work hard to make sure that their customers are taken care of.
