B&T Kitchens and Baths

My experience with B&T is a couple of years old now and I hope that that overall management philosophy at this company has changed. We hired B&T to completely gut renovate two bathrooms in our house. The design process was reasonable-- it took a couple of rounds to get a design that we liked, but that's pretty normal. Their price (something north of $30K, excluding tile and plumbing fixtures) ,in retrospect, was probably on the high side but we liked the design and the company seemed very professional. When construction started, it all went downhill. Unknown to us, B&T is primarily a cabinet installer. All of the other work (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, tile, etc) was subcontracted. The B&T construction supervisor could not effectively manage the subs or coordinate their work. Subs would arrive and couldn't work because of a coordination issue, or simply didn't come at all. B&T couldn't/wouldn't provide a simple completion schedule despite repeated demands. After repeated complaints, I demanded to see someone in management who could help the situation-- no one other than the salesperson/designer ever showed up. In the end, we fired B&T off the job before they finished the first bathroom out of frustration. The company didn't seem to care or try to fix the situation. No one in management ever called to ask why we were agitated enough to fire them. Based on my experience, I wouldn't hire them. Again, however, this was a few years ago and things may have changed. Before I would ever even think of working with them again, I would: 1. Ask of a start to end detailed schedule of work 2. Check the references of not just the firm, but the construction supervisor, and all subcontractors. 3. Insist that B&T self-perform at least 70% of the work. 4. Get the name and cell phone number of the president of the company. 5. Make sure that the contract that they ask you to sign is 100% legal including all items required by Virginia Code including their license number, actual business name, start and end dates, etc. 6. Make sure the scope of services is detailed enough to protect yourself-- a drawing is not good enough.

Design services - very professional and detailed in all paperwork. Contractor was hired through B&T Kitchen & Baths - his work was excellent, thorough, prompt, and kept me up to date on progress.

It went well

The people were great! They did an amazing job with installing the floors, and cabinetry. We were in awe! Then about a year later plumbing problems started. We have been in our house for 10 years and never had an issue with any plumbing. But since the remodel, we have been having plumbers out to reset our toilets because they constantly leak. The bathroom sinks leak the toilet upstairs leaked into our ceiling in the kitchen. We had to pay to get the ceiling redone because the toilet wasn't lined up correctly. Now, I am writing this review because the piping in my kitchen sink has leaked and now my dining room flooring has to be replaced because it has leaked so much without me knowing that it had made it's way into our dining room. It's very frustrating because not even two years after we paid all this money to remodel we have spent so much more cleaning up water problems. We will have to get a new cabinet in our kitchen because it's filled with mold. I'm just so frustrated with all of this and after it's all said and done, I just wish we would've never got any of it done.

Met with Rich at our home a few times to figure out our needs in a new kitchen. He took measurements and designed a kitchen based on space. We then went to the showroom to go over cabinets and countertops.. This process was stress free and actually fun. He helped us narrow down choices quickly. He provided us a time line as to when we could expect the cabinets and countertops ex
everything went off as promised. They were great friendly and made our kitchen look like one out of a magazine.

It was a very good experience. They are very helpful. And actually he came back today and made some adjustment inside the cabinet for some few changes made. They have an excellent quality.

My contractor used B&T for the cabinets installed during my kitchen renovation, which is why I don't know the exact cost of them. My dealings with B&T were great, though. They were quick to fix any issues, and made themselves available if there was any problem with their product. Shannon came to my home several times to ensure the cabinets were installed properly, and would work to fix the problem if it was not.

I was extremely happy with them through the whole process.

Everything was perfect.  It was great.  I would highly recommend them.  I think they gave us a lot of good advice on what to choose for materials.  They also have a contractor that works for them.
