Daisy Maids

I was not happy at all.  I paid over $200 and they didn’t do a good job. There are so many places that they saw that they didn’t clean and then when I said they didn’t clean it they said that was a deep cleaning which would cost much more than that. They didn’t even clean the window seals, just the base of the windows on the inside. I don’t think I will hire them. For $200 I could find one person, or do it myself.

Daisy Maids claims to offer "superior house cleaning service at competitive prices." They "charge by the job, not by the hour so your home will be spotless for one great price!" Unfortunately my recent experience with their housecleaning found both of these statements to be very totally inaccurate. One of the reasons I decided to try Daisy Maids is because I liked the flat rate charge per cleaning. This seemed like a great idea.In my opinion, when you pay people hourly there is little incentive for them to work faster or more efficiently -- so they'll take their time and the work ends up costing you more than it should have. Therefore, I liked the idea that I could pay a flat rate and my home would be throughly cleaned and spotless. I was even hoping to use Daisy Maids on a bi-monthly basis for regular cleanings, assuming my first housecleaning went well and met my expectations.
So back in April I scheduled Daisy Maids to come out and deep clean my home. When the Daisy Maids arrived my wife provided them with a one-page checklist we had written up of specific things we wanted them to do. It was mostly services they said were included in their deep cleaning, but there were a few specific things in addition to that, that we also wanted cleaned. 
When Daisy Maids arrived there were three housecleaners and after the discussing the checklist they went to work. Surprisingly, they were finished after only two hours and left for their next job. When I got home from work later that evening I was very disappointed to find they had not completed some of the tasks from our checklist. But I was even more disappointed to find that much of the cleaning was very poorly done. I expected them to put in some work since it was a "deep cleaning" but came to find out that they did a pretty mediocre cleaning overall. 
Here are some of the problems I noted:
- Did not sweep or mop laundry room or adjacent bathroom 
- Mirrors in bathrooms not cleaned very well (they were streaky)
- Sinks in bathrooms not fully cleaned (there was still visible grime)
- Master bedroom shower not well cleaned (there was visible grime left) and faucet was covered in water spots 
- Water spots all over shower and bath tub fixtures in basement bathroom 
- Did not clean front of bathroom cupboards 
- Didn't wipe down window sills
- Bedroom furniture not dusted 
- Did not dust ceiling fans 
- Did not dust light fixtures or lamps 
- Did not vacuum the basement stairs 
- Did not wipe down kitchen table and chairs 
- Did a poor job cleaning the microwave and stove top 
Since I paid for the more expensive deep cleaning, I was very disappointed by the results of the cleaning services provided by Daisy Maids. The housecleaners didn't follow the instructions we provided and did a poor job cleaning in many areas of our home. The pricing was also anything but competitive and I feel like we were over grossly charged. The three housecleaners spent two hours at our home cleaning. The cleaning cost $280, less a $40 coupon from their web site, so I effectively paid each cleaner $40 per hour. That is ridiculous in my opinion and anything but "competitive". According to homeadvisor.com, "research shows that the average hourly cleaning rate for U.S. maid services is between $25 and $45 per hour." At a rate of $40 per hour, our about $47 per hour before discount, Daisy Maids would be considered one of the most expensive maid services in the United States. Given their high prices I would have expected superior service but that was disappointingly not the case.
When I tried calling Daisy Maids to complain a few days later, I waited on hold for more than 10 minutes before I got frustrated and decided to email them instead. They responded to my email and offered to come out for a re-cleaning, which we scheduled for a few days later. After the re-cleaning I was still disappointed by their lack of thoroughness and the quality of their cleaning. It did not meet my expectations, especially given the cost. They did a mediocre job at best. I've had far better experiences with other maid and housecleaning services in the past.
As I mentioned before, I was hoping to use Daisy Maids for bi-weekly cleanings of our home, but after this experience I've changed my mind. Maybe I just had some bad luck, maybe they do a better job most of the time... But based on my experiences, and the other reviews here on Yelp, I don't think that's the case. I would not recommend Daisy Maids and would encourage you to consider other options. There are better maid and housecleaning services out there.

They deep cleaned the house: cleaned and sanitized bathrooms from top to bottom, sparkling kitchen and small appliances, vacuuming and light dusting, spotless floors, cleaned bathrooms, dusting of blinds, ceiling fans and hard-to-reach places, wall washing, interior windows for just $3 / pane, cleaned the refrigerator inside and out, cleaned my oven inside and out, washed all the blinds and baseboards, wiped down all the appliances. Everything looked great.

I contracted with the company to dust my high ceilings and walls in the living room/kitchen area. I also needed the decorative items on the tops of the cupboards cleaned as well as the outside of the cabinets. I made it very clear that the walls in one area were about 15 feet high. The ladies showed up with no ladder or dust mops. They were very pleasant, but totally not equipped for the job. I had made it very clear to the office that a long ladder was needed. I canceled the job, and I had to argue with the office not to be charged a cancellation fee. I refused to pay it because they were not equipped to do the job. Good bye Daisy Maids.

We met up at the house, I showed her everything that needed to be taken care of, she agreed and handed me the contract that we descused on the phone, A Whole House Cleaning. I attempted to ask one of the cleaning ladies a question and only 1 of the 4 spoke english. When I returned, the one incharge walked me around. I pointed out several places they had not done very well on, i.e. the intake vent's, baseboards in the corner areas. There were smudges on the walls in some places. Once they left, the carpet cleaner came in.
The next day; when the carpet was dry I went back and was very upset; The chandelier light bulbs in Kitchen and Livingroom were still full of dust. I took pictures after calling and could only leave messages. The Oven fan was covered with cleaner and baked on. The refridgerater still had food stuck inside one of the drawers. The one cleaning lady that spoke some english called me to say she was sorry that she had broken one of the bathroom lights and would drop off a new one the next day but did not hear from her and had to call the office again. I found the light in the mailbox the following day. They had not even cleaned a little bit along the rail of the shower. It had gunk that had to be months old stuck on and I had to scrape it.
I was very upset that I paid someone to do this job so I could focus on packing our old house and it took me several days and phone calls and e mails with pictures and finaly reached the main company owner. They offered to send out a crew to re-clean but I chose not to have them back. She then offered to refund me part of our payment and I agreed. I would never hire them again and my neighbors and friends nlow it.

They did a great job, and they showed up with three people!

Awesome job. Easy to get a hold of on the phone. I booked an appointment on Friday for the next Tuesday. They arrived on time and I wasn't required to be home. I got the move out cleaning special. They even honored the $40 off online coupon. 2000 sq ft whole house cleaning for $200. I inspected the job when I returned home. They left a checklist of everything accomplished. I was very satisfied and would use them again for sure.

My overall experience was good. They were there the next day. I would use them in the future.

We had them out on two separate occasions. The first visit was fantastic. The team did a very thorough job and left our house spotless. The second visit did not go nearly as well. There were areas arounf the toilets that were missed and streaks were left in some of the surfaces. We plan to use them again to see if it was just due to the different crew.

Came in 1/2 hr later. OK, did not mind, helped me to get ready and put dishes in dishwasher so they Cord spend more time cleaning rather than washing dishes. Two ladies came, not in uniform or ID only a jacket with the company logo. Although skeptical, let them in. One took care of the bathrooms and did them well. The other one did the rest of the house. She did a less than average job. Splashed the cabinet doors and furniture with oil. Barely cleaned the counter well, missed many spots. Put in the dishwasher the few cups left to the hand wash! Did not wipe clean the electronics. Barely answer when spoken to. Did a quick vacuum and did not dust under the bed. Did not move anything out of the way. They do not use mop! They cleaned the floor with some spray and old rags! Supposedly the company wants them to do it "on their hands and knees". You can imagine it was a quick wipe clean...
