Have been a customer of Rentmeister for 18+ years, Rich has been the Tech that has taken care of our furnace and central air unit for nine years. Rich has integrity, good product knowledge and excellent mechanical skills. I value his opinion when it comes to work needing to be done. Mike E. West Bountiful, UT

Well done folks! Highly recommended! We chose Rentmeister because we trust them after experiencing their work on five of our friends/family (including the in-laws :) Rentmeister took care of all the details including new 220V power. They sent their system designer to determine the best solution for my future plans and current conditions. The team they sent was flawless: Polite, punctual, professional. The heat pump ductless split equipment is top of the line. The front office customer service is outstanding too, leaving nothing to chance! Thanks Rentmeister!

I had Rentmeister come and move an AC line and I also needed a few water lines moved but thought I would need to schedule the plumbing for another day. The technician stayed for 6 hours and completed all of the work. He even reconfigured my furnace for a new thermostat and installed the thermostat!

Worst Company and Customer Service I've ever had. They were called out to do a Pre-Season Tune Up on my furnace through Landmark for our Home Warranty. They scheduled me out almost 3 weeks from when I put in the request which I said okay because our furnace was working perfectly fine but our warranty was almost up so I wanted them to come check it out and "Tune it up" so that it continue running smoothly. When their guy showed up he started wiping everything down with a wet rag? My home is only 10 years old and he was trying to say we had an old system which is completely false. We had only been in the home less than a year and never had a problem. Once he finished which seemed like all he did was wipe stuff down when he was supposed to be doing a tune up he said "Well I have some good news and bad news." "So I dusted off your furnace so it looks real clean but now it's not igniting so you have to either start it with a lighter or it's not going to work" I told him well it's worked perfectly fine since we lived here so what did you do. He said "so I wiped everything down and now it won't ignite so it won't heat up let me go call my boss to see about ordering a new part" So he left and calls and says you need to talk to Landmark to have them order this part" I told them no that it's worked perfectly fine since we moved in. You did something and now it's not working. Long story short they refuse to come and fix it unless I buy the part that their guy broke when he was doing whatever he was doing. Terrible company. Terrible Terrible Terrible... Don't ever use them.

They sent one technician and he worked for 45 minutes. I thought they were informative and kind, he also left the area clean.

This contractor was called through my home warranty. The guy who was sent out was rude to my wife, didn't even attempt to diagnose the problem and left with a $65 check after doing absolutely nothing because he claimed our water heater was a "commercial model", which it absolutely is not. As of now he hasn't reported back to our home warranty service so we can't get another contractor out tomorrow and will be at least another day if not the whole weekend without hot water.
Response from Rentmeister Total Home Service
"Sorry you feel this way [Member Name Removed]. The warranty company should of redispatched another company to handle the call. Our contract with them limits us in some things we can handle. The $65 you paid is a deductible we have to collect for them. When the other company responds they will not collect another deductible. This is the Home Warranty company'[Member Information Removed] policy. The redispatch can take a few hours to get thru their system. Normally they will have it sent to another company the same day but we are not in control of their system. I hope the other company has you taken care of. Any other questions feel free to contact me."

We have a home warranty and they still added almost 500 dollars worth of stuff (earthquake strap, flex hoses etc) they told my warranty company it was for code upgrades so we would have to pay. well when we talked to them they wanted to replace the hoses and earthquake strap just because they do not work with other peoples parts they put their own in and we told the warranty company this and ITS A NORMAL practice. What a scam. We were able to talk them down to 375.00 cause were poor and we now have hot water but feeling very scammed.

I have never seen a more horrible display of customer service in my life.  This company was awful.  They were great in getting a so called plumber out to my house in a very timely manner however I say so called because I haven't ever heard of a plumber that is unable to clear a clog in a drain before.  So, he replaced the garbage disposal and ended up pouring a chemical I had purchased to clear the clog down the drain.  He stated that it might take some time for it to work and that he would go and do another job in the area and then return to see what else he could do when he got back.  He left the pipes under the sink leaking and he was aware they were leaking but stated he would fix that upon his return.  Over 4 hours later I called the main number for the company to inquire as to what happened to him and was told that he called one of the secretaries to tell them he was not returning and to reassign the drain to another contractor.  She was supposed to contact the home warranty company to have them assign a "drain cleaning" service.  Unfortunately she didn't call my home warranty company and just left things as they were.  The secretary I spoke to stated that she would go ahead and call and surprise, she didn't either.  The plumber left the leaky pipes dripping under my sink which was leaking sulferic acid which is hazardous by the way.  We called another company to come out and finish the job that evening and paid for it ourselves.  I still have yet to hear anything from Rentmeister (Syracuse Utah) and it's 2 days later.  I ran my dishwasher today and was frustrated beyond belief that it now wouldn't drain.  My husband jumped on the internet and read that is a very common problem with a dishwasher following the replacement of a garbage disposal...why?  Because he failed to remove the plug in the garbage disposal before putting the drain hose for the dishwasher back on.  Any plumber should know that they need to do this.   Luckily my husband was able to do that himself!  Terrible, terrible customer service, terrible experience from the moment they arrived at my house!  Don't use them if you can find someone else!

Not only did Kevin fix the problem but he warned me of my copper tubbing resting against some galvanized metal which is apparently a no no.  He even explained a very low low cost and simple solution (duct tape) that I could do myself.  He asked me several questions about my water heater and determined that it with it being approx. 20 years old and that it was ready to die that he was going to recommend the home warranty company purchase me a new one.  They did and Kevin came back in about a week and replaced my old with the new and now no more rattling pipes throughout the day.  I have read all of the bad reviews about this company but if it is a plumbing problem and you get Kevin, you'll be happy.

Air conditioner and furnace were malfunctioning within the first year.   On recent inspection, I found that the furnace had not been connected to the cold air return vent.  The furnace has been sucking in unfiltered air from inside the basement closet where it had been installed.

"I am sorry you have had this experience. I do not show we have installed equipment or even serviced anything at your address. I would be happy to check into it if I could varify this information. There are a few Rentmeister companies in the area. Are you sure it was Us?"

In all each visit went very well and though the technicians dispatched were not the most outwardly confidence inspiring they both did fantastic jobs and earned my respect.  The only issue I had was with the amount of time it took dispatch to set up a service appointment after my home warranty provider gave them notice, even when there was a plumbing emergency.

They bashed up our door frames and house and refused to fix them. They submitted the wrong paperwork for our rebate, which caused more work for me to do. I wouldn't have used them if I didn't have to.

I have used them for five years. They have a very nice service contract and they have been very good people. I have had three different service people come out and they were all nice, professional and knowledgeable. The price is reasonable.

We bought a Coleman/York approx. 4 years ago from this company. During that first summer, the system froze up "twice"...they came out "fixed" it (put refrigerant). Summer ends. The next year it froze up again...one guy told us we needed to have the coil changed...but when he took the recommendation back to the office...the sent another guy up...put in refrigerant...another bandaid. Season ends. The 3rd year....yep freezes up a couple of times...one guy tells us we're turning the thermometer too low....the other told us there are kids getting high on the refrigerant (funny...they took the time put everything back together so no one could tell...seriously?) Now they haven't been charging us for coming out....we're underwarranty.   Season ends....freezes up once again....so I go online and learn that Coleman/York is replacing the coil at no cost....but now they charge us to "install" us...why...because we're out of warranty.  It's HOT outside....we can't afford a new unit....we felt we were held over a barrel....we paid and guess what....two days later it froze up.  We haven't been charged for that service....but then again...the summer isn't over.

They were great. It took two days to install everything. I have four separate controllers for the heat and air conditioning along with the ducts and wiring. This was very good timing. I would recommend them to anyone.
