Hi my name is Chad. I am the owner of SS Builders. We are a fully licensed and insured construction company providing exceptional services at very affordable pricing. Our motto is "raising the standards". We created this to set us apart from all the bad experiences that you may have heard about contractors. SS Builders is a terrible contractor. He's working on behalf of the VA to help my dad, an elderly vet that requires oxygen, with a bathroom renovation. He and his team have done 0 dust suppression. Between the sheetrock dust and general dirt from a full bathroom renovation, the floor and the air quality in their house is terrible. The room was NOT sealed off to contain the dust and particles and they have NOT cleaned up after themselves. Both my parents require oxygen and they are both suffering physically because of his poor work quality. Also, it doesn't appear that he does any work himself. He uses subs for everything. I told him during the first week that a walking path needed to be left for my mother and her walker. Every time I've gone to pick her up, they've had the walkway blocked. They even blocked the driveway so she had to go all the way to the street to get in my vehicle. He's inconsiderate and doesn't respect his customers or their homes.

"This is an ongoing project as of today. [Member Name Removed]’[Member Information Removed] sister [Member Name Removed], is actually the person over the project. She is happy with the progress and understands the challenges we are up against. Unfortunately, dust is part of the construction process. What is shown in the pictures here, is foot traffic after an employee working all day long. Dust on your feet is just part of the construction process. We are also unable to put permanent plastic over the bathroom door opening because of your parents need to use the bathroom.  This is something that my guys have tried their best to accommodate. We are doing this because it is challenging for your mom to use the toilet upstairs. Your sister [Member Name Removed] mentioned in the beginning that plastic in the doorway of the bathroom, would be a tripping hazard for your parents. So again, we are trying our best here.  I immediately acted upon your request to keep a pathway.  Even though a pathway was consciously maintained before. Neither your sister or I can figure out what you’re referring to here. My tile subcontractor was verbally attacked to the point where he actually felt physically threatened. This is not acceptable. We’ve been told this is your personal pattern, but we will not tolerate it. We had to set a boundary with the parents and Shellie, that we would not return if this particular person was going to be showing up at any point in time. The parents and Shellie happily agreed and this is where we are currently at on the project. We have one more week to finish and we are right on track with timelines. As long disruptions are kept minimal. Please consider your toxic reactions and how th affect those around you, [Member Name Removed]. It sounds like this is also your pattern to show up at your parents house on a weekly basis. With the same type of problems and projections every time. Your family mentions that this literally raises your parents’ blood pressures and affects their health. So please consider this in the greater scheme of your parents concern."

I contracted with SS Builders recently to have a bedroom finished off in my basement. It was a very positive experience and I would certainly recommend this company. Chad, the owner, gave me a very fair price and even showed me some ways to cut costs. There were no hidden costs or surprises in the end. I liked that I did not have to pay until the job was completed. Chad had friendly and kind subcontractors completing the job. They all kind of became family. There are generally snags or things that go wrong in most jobs. There were a couple of those but Chad was on top of it and made everything right. He is a great communicator and answers texts promptly. We texted daily to make sure we were always on the same page with the project. These days, it is challenging to find a company that can get on the job soon. Luckily Chad was able to fit the basement bedroom project in and it was completed in a very timely manner. Well done! Chad and his team were extremely responsive and professional. As a disabled veteran our installs enjoyed some priority in his extremely busy schedule. He measured everything twice on two separate visits, the first one being a job assessment and estimate visit. Installers were efficient, clean, polite and quick. The products and installations were exactly as promised and quickly done as scheduled. Very good firm to work with. I give them the highest rating for service excellence and have already told my neighbors to call them for their own install/remodeling needs.

"Unfortunately we were never able to start this project. We began by giving Mrs. [Member Name Removed] an estimate for their condo remodel. From the very beginning she stressed how necessary it was to nail down a plan ASAP because she was having a baby in the next few weeks. Once she had this baby, she said that she would lose communication for an undetermined amount of time. Possibly several weeks. She also reiterated her budget several times but yet added bathroom remodels etc. as things went along. It seemed that each time we had a plan nailed down she would change her mind and either add more to the project, or change plans/ layouts etc.. This was a never ending game of catch up. I felt that she manipulated several things throughout the planning part of the project. Once we would nail down a price, she would change materials and tile patterns etc.. Some of these intricate patterns adding double the work but yet she wanted to maintain her budget. Needless to say this was an impossible project from the beginning. Client signed a contract with me and actually had me order the wood floors. Once she decided that we were unable to fulfill her endless requests, client canceled the project. This amount that was paid was due to all of my time involved in planning, changing contracts and also returning materials. This was only paid after getting legal advice."

Still in the middle of the project. It was started the end of August 2018. It was a lot of different projects. Chad has been good to work with. He lets you know if things will be more $, how much, and gets back to you in a timely manner. He also sent pics of other work he had completed for people. So, far he/crew have taken out part of yard, put in sprinkling system, put in landscape gravel, and new patio/shed. Be warned Lifetime Sheds are nice but a lot of work and time consuming to put together. Sprinkling system works great and patio is really nice. Dripper system still needs to be done for flower beds. He is also putting up part of new fence and gates as well. Inside he is in process of remodeling the kitchen, bathroom, and living room. His tile people do very nice work. They have done the bathroom walls around tub including decorative tile, and kitchen/bathroom floors. Tile guys are also respectful, come in, get their work done, and are on their way. Another of his floor guys put in hardwood floors for the living room and hall. They turned out very nice as well. His cabinet guy for the kitchen is in the process of doing white shaker cabinets and quartz countertops will be added. Cabinet design plan gives a lot of storage room and is going to be very nice. When there have been a few challenges here and there he has been willing to work those out, adapt things as needed to make them work and to try to meet your needs. I had another contractor give me a bid prior to Chad. He was somewhat arrogant, told us what he was going to do, asked little about was wanted or needed, and was way overpriced for what he was going to do. Chad is willing to hear about your needs and concerns and address them as you go.

This was a major custom kitchen remodel with staircase and railing. we made many changes during the remodel and Chad was very helpful with making the changes and offering great suggestions.

End result we have a beautiful home!! It took one full year to build and things could have gone smother if change requests had been used. We asked for them. Things went wrong by subs but he said he was on sight often enough. The building went over by three months,(which i've been told isn't bad). An overall cost list was not provided,which would have helped greatly. The home was built in Eureka which makes things difficult due to distance. It is beautiful tho!!!!

SS Builders did a fantastic job finishing our basement. We particularly love the kitchen with the beautiful cabinets and granite countertop. Chad took care of working through the city permitting process to make sure everything was up to code and was always available if we had and questions or concerns. Their work is the highest quality, but a bit over budget. We would definitely hire SS Builders again.

Particularly because of all the work that was done previous to us and not up to code. The city had several additional costs because permits were not taken out on that previous work. There were also countless things that needed to be fixed because they were not built correctly. These are all things that we consider as part of the job and we do with pleasure, but yes there are costs involved. There were also several upgrades chosen by you guys which added to the "over budget". This ultimately added to and created the nice basement that I'm so glad you are happy with. But all of these different factors definitely add up as you can see. Generally when I quote a project, I almost always stay within budget. Even though the project was a bit more challenging, it was an absolute pleasure doing business with you guys. I'm happy to hear that you guys are quite happy with it. Chad was professional from the first time we met and he gave us a bid all the way through the final walkthrough. His pricing was good, not sure he was the cheapest but we weren't looking for the cheapest, but rather the best. We were very pleased with Chad and his work. Did everything go perfect absolutely not, but Chad was more than fair in making sure everything got taken care of and that it was done in a timely manner. He's come back and fixed minor issues that were found later on. I'd highly recommend SS builders to anyone looking for a kitchen remodel, basement finishing or if you have your own lot and you'd like somebody to general your new home.

We first hired Chad a few years ago to remodel our master bath. The finished product was beautiful and we were very happy with the quality and extra attention to detail that Chad brought to the project. We then hired him to finish our basement - this included a family room, full bathroom, and two bedrooms. We love it and use it everyday. The last project we decided to take on was a kitchen remodel and hardwood flooring throughout the house. Chad's expertise and experience were invaluable. The kitchen was completely taken out and redesigned with a totally new layout, custom cabinets, custom island. Needless to say it is STUNNING! Everyone that comes to our house raves about how beautiful our home is now and the kitchen is the centerpiece. It is truly a masterpiece of craftsmanship and we could not be happier with how it turned out. Happy wife, happy life - that statement has never been more true! I would highly recommend Chad, he is the ultimate professional in an industry where finding good people is nearly impossible. I hope someday to be able to build a new home and Chad will be the contractor that gets that job.

After getting 3 different bids from various contractors we selected SS Builders to complete our basement. The job was started early in December and was completed the very beginning of April. I had some pretty specific design and finishing elements and knew exactly what I wanted in every way. I'm sure working with a homeowner like me might be more challenging for the contractor, but Chad was fantastic to work with. It wasn't always an easy process, as I wanted what I wanted and had a budget to maintain, but Chad was easy to talk to and helped me understand the costs associated with some of my choices, and he also helped me find suitable substitutes when necessary. All in all, my basement turned out exactly as I had envisioned. He has a very high quality of work which is quickly noticed by all who view my basement. I would definitely recommend Chad with SS Builders to anyone looking for a knowledgable, friendly and professional contractor...especially for the large jobs that can be somewhat difficult to manage.

We had them finish a basement in our home. SS Builders was a wonderful company to work with. They were very professional and clean. They helped design our basement to fit our needs and customized nearly every aspect. They also helped me with picking out colors and tile etc., which I was not expecting. Chad takes a lot of pride in his work and it shows. He was also flexible with payments and did not require any money up front. This allowed us comfort in making such a big purchase. That is something that we were unable to find in any other contractor. His prices were also towards the lower end of the 3 other contractors that we met with. We would and will definitely hire them again.

We LOVE SS Builders! Chad was wonderful to work with. He makes sure that quality work is done and for a great price! They were detailed and never sloppy or rushing through their work. We asked that they match the paint, doors, moldings and fixtures to the upstairs so it would not look vastly different from one floor to another and they did an amazing job making it look like it could have been finished with the rest of the house. They also added extra touches like built in shelving in the bathroom and bedroom closet. They were always good to communicate with us, and extremely easy to get ahold of and responded quickly when we had questions. They also made sure we were getting exactly what we wanted and took the time to ask about additional features so nothing was left out. They were always respectful of our space, polite and friendly. We are so happy to have found someone we feel we can rely on and trust to do a great job and to do it at a fair price. They didn't demand money up front, we paid a couple payments as we went and the rest when the work was completed. Plus, they warranty their work, which gives us added piece of mind. They did a nice job cleaning up after themselves which is important and they took measures to put up plastic barriers to try to protect our belongings and the rest of the house from dust and work debris. Thanks SS Builders, we LOVE our new basement!
