purchased townhome (MLS #1590122) with DETACHED GARAGE located across the street from townhome). Gobe Realty (Kent Sorensen agent and Dave Robison broker) represented me. 6 weeks after I moved in I got a note on the detached garage from someone saying I OWN THIS GARAGE, please call me within 24 hours (and the nightmare begins). Kent looked into it and found out I didn't own the garage. come to find out the garage has it's own TAX ID and Kent didn't include the detached garage in my real estate contract and therefore, I never LEGALLY bought the garage. I believe it was Kent and Dave's job to make sure the title company got the right paperwork so that when I signed the documents at closing, I would take ownership of both the townhome and the garage (they simply weren't diligent in protecting my interested). the detached garage was the PRIMARY REASON I bought the property. it is a very valuable part of the purchase and absolutely should have been included in the real estate contract. unfortunately, I only took ownership of the townhome. I believe I asked Kent and/or Dave at least 3 times if they would PAY to help me get this garage (if the current garage owner would sell it). they gave negative responses. in fact, I so wanted the garage I told kent to ask dave if they paid up to get this garage for me, I would sign a contract allowing them to sell my townhome (the date would have to be open ended but I would definetely allow gobe realty to sell it if they would get this garage back for me.) I was doing this (even though I want nothing to do with these 2) cause Kent and Dave had made no mention whatsoever that they had any interest at all in purchasing this garage for me (in fact, they never offered to even pay any money to buy it and acted like they did nothing wrong). Kent said he did ask dave and he said other parties were responsible and they needed to buy me the garage if I wanted it. I was very surprised because they probably would of MADE more money in selling my townhome than in the cost to them to secure the garage for me. I didn't even want to make that offer to them (who would after your realtors allowed this to happen to you) but I just wanted to get this garage and get on with my life. unfortunately 6 months later, I still don't have the garage (and I am willing to pay about 1/2 the funds needed to buyer the garage). Kent and Dave have never shown any interested whatsoever in paying anything to get this garage back. I had these 2 sell a house for me before I bought this townhome and I wanted to use them again to create some goodwill between us. I wanted to be treated well...........and fair..............should any problems arise in any future real estate deals where they represent me (and I did plan on continuing to use them). but I believe kent used this GOODWILL against me by trying to get me the believe things that would shift the blame from him and dave to others. but this clearly didn't work in my instance. once they make their money off you (I believe around 19K over 2 real estate transaction in my instance), their done with you. you got problems they caused (like not binding me legally to a detached garage), they'll try to pin the blame on others and then walk away if your not made whole. had they written this detached garage into my real estate contract, I wouldn't have had this happen. I would certainly be in a much better place. but they didn't do that. and they never owned up to it. this is a problem that easily should have been solved by now, but I think their greed has got the best of them. once they have made there money off you, they simply don't care enough to OWN up to mistakes they made. I am very surprised to write this review because they did well in selling my house. but then again, everything went smooth there. but in the townhome purchase where the CRAP HIT THE FAN, I found out what they are really made of (instances like these are when you truly find out what business people are made of). you find out very quickly if they have integrity or a moral compass. and these 2 simply don't. they weren't DILIGENT in protecting my interests as a real estate buyer. it's OK to make mistakes. but don't walk away (as these two have). OWN IT. do the right think and make it a learning experience. I just wish these realtors would understand real estate transaction HAVE TO BE DONE RIGHT.....EVERY TIME. they get paid well to MAKE SURE everything goes smoothly. there is too much at stake to be leaving anything to chance. mistakes in real estate transactions can turn into a nightmare for a buyer or seller of real estate
