the ice maker was repaired and is working well. This is the second time I have used Alta View Appliance and have been very happy with his service.

Assessed the microwave damage, and said it would cost as much to fix it as it would cost to replace it.

Very well.

Robert looked at the oven, and found that the problem was the setting of the time dials, and reset them.  (I had been using this oven for 16 years and never encountered this problem before!)

Then he looked at the dryer.  It appeared that, once again, the hot setting was not working.  Robert spent quite a bit of time watching the flame and measuring temperatures at different settings before concluding that the dryer was functioning properly.  He explained how the machine actually worked, and how I had gotten the impression that it was not working properly by checking temperature at a particular point in the heat cycle.  After all the time he had put in, he charged me just the $50 trip fee.

A few days later my washing machine began making more noise.  I called Robert again.  He told me to check one thing and try another, and if it still made the noise, call him back.  A repairman who tries not to make a buck!

I would give him an A+ if I could.

Called Bob early in the morning and left a message. He returned our call within an hour and scheduled an appointment for the early afternoon. Bob arrived at the time he promised and quickly diagnosed and replaced a faulty sensor on our washing machine. He is friendly and professional, and clearly knows his stuff. We will call him again the next time we need an appliance repair. His price was very reasonable and he was in and out in less than an hour. While he was in our home he also rerouted a dishwasher hose for us at no extra charge... Overall...a great experience...we would absolutely recommend Alta View Appliance Service for all your appliance repair needs...!!!

My 20 + year old Maytag dryer started cheeping like a bird. The cheeps turned into nasty squeals after two more loads of clothing and I looked through my old business cards for the guy who installed a motor in the dryer three years ago since he'd done good work at a fair price. He was listed on Angies but with no reports. Robert Hanks is the owner operator of this one man business and he's in his 60's. He asked what the problem was and said he may be able to stop by that afternoon. He called back about 2 1/2 hours later to make sure I was home. He had taken the dryer apart, replaced the rollers and had the dryer back on-line a half hour later. He told me the old Maytags had the biggest rollers in the business but the lubrication finally dried out even on those after 20 years of operation. Parts were $38.95 and service was $30. Sales tax was an extra $6.09. I seriously doubt if I could have found a better price not mention the quick and expert service Mr. Hanks provided!
