These guys are great! I was contacted less than 30 minutes after I submitted my request online and was provided with a tentative quote over the phone. When the sales rep showed up, the final quote ended up being almost exactly what we'd discussed. They were booked out a few weeks because it's springtime, but I was able to get updates easily and was contacted when I landed on the schedule. The installation team was AWESOME! Tony and Adam went above and beyond to make our fence look beautiful again.

2 people came to complete the work. They installed it in one day. There were a couple little defects in the fencing and they came back and fixed it and came back a second time to make sure it was fixed. They left the area totally clean. Communication with us as homeowners with the process was a success. They were professional, they followed thru with what they offered and definitely would use them again.

They did a great job, then when a severe wind storm hit several months later, they came back and honored the warranty by fixing the damage.

This company took 7 months to install three gates at our house. They first brought gates that had been damaged by a windstorm, we insisted that they fix the gates or file an insurance claim to get new gates and then come back and install them. They came back to uninstall the gates after 45 days and then had to get them fixed which took a while and finally after the months came back to install them. After installing them the second time they also had to come back to fix the rhino rock fence that they had damaged during the first install. After finally rectifying all of their mistakes we have two post caps left unpainted gates that the bars are bent out of shape, and for all of our troubles and concessions that we have been forced to make sure to their poor quality workmanship we asked for consideration with a discount. We have since been told that they would rather get the lawyers involved and put a Leon on our house. Me and my wife took signs of pictures along the way, and will also find the gentleman that was fired for after installing at our house, I'm sure he didn't deserve that as they sent him to our house with poor material in the first place. Small claims court should be fun! I can't wait to hear this ex-employees testimony. Please go work with anyone more reputable that treats their employees with respect by giving them the right tools and materials for the job in the first place. Please see attached photo and also realized that they were desperate enough to attempt to work on the gate on site to fix things. Which also caused them to spray paint my fence... Please notice that they were supposed to have the fence below the post caps, which lead to them cutting my fences post caps instead of fixing their work they ruined someone else's good job. Never use them for anything remotely important to your family!

The installers were great. We are very happy with their work. Salesperson came out very quickly and was on time. After contracting for the fence communication was spotty with the office end of the business. Calls and texts were not responded to in a timely fashion. Communication between office and installers also seemed poor. Installers didn't know what salespersons had told us. Still, in the end we were happy with the work done and the price.

It went well. We had it scheduled and it was done within our timeline. One problem we had was that they had quoted me for all cedar fencing, but when they brought the main fencing material out, it was pine. Luckily, we spotted the mistake and made sure it was replaced with cedar. That would have been a disaster!

Tony Ramirez came out and did the bid, he was wonderful, professional, kind and very patient with me.  This was a first for me, doing such a big project and he was really patient with all of my changes and questions.
Ed Nunoz was the installer and I highly recommend him, he is professional and very skilled.  His precision in the alignment of the fence was perfect and he hand built the gates on site.
Ed was also very patient with me and my questions too.
Josh was assisting Ed and he was a very professional and really hard working addition to the team.
They were polite, thoughtful and appreciative of food and drinks.
I have more fencing to do and i will have Western do the other projects on my property, I highly recommend them.

Our experience was terrible!  The estimate went fine.  Both railings were custom and the front porch railing was made to match iron window boxes that we have on our house.  We placed our order (and paid half of the cost) at the end of May.  We were told that it would take 8 weeks.
After 12 weeks and no contact from them, we began calling the company.  We were treated rudely by all we spoke to, calls were not returned, and we were put off on multiple occasions.  After 4 months, the garage railing was installed.  It looks great.  The front porch railing was measured wrong and did not fit.  It had to be remade.  We were told two more weeks.  This led to another 2 ½ months of unreturned calls and rude staff. Finally, I told them that they had 24 hours to complete the job or cancel our order.
The railing was installed the next day.  It was a poor job, and did not fit correctly.  They had to redrill our new concrete to place new anchors, and put shims under one of the posts.  The shims are bare metal and will be rusted soon.  We also now have sawed off bolts in our front walk.
To top it off, they called to collect the remainder of the fee the next morning.  By that afternoon, we had a threatening voicemail left about our lack of response to their request for payment. Give me a break!  We wait 6 ½ months for them and they can?t wait one day for me to inspect their work before paying them!?
Stay away from Western Fence if you can. It would appear that they don?t take small jobs (to them) seriously.

They were unreliable and the front office did not have any idea about scheduling.  They were over 3 weeks late from when they said they would complete the job, and they were completely unconcerned about the inconvenience it caused.  They would repeatedly say they would be here one day and then would not show up.  But, most importantly, they never reached out to let me know about schedule changes...I always had to call them to find out the status of my job.  Very frustrating experience.

Review of Western Fence

I had a pretty old fence but it was still functional & vertical until the wind storm on April 14, 2015 quickly made approximately 90 feet of it nonfunctional & horizontal.   Wow what a mess, not only did the storm tear it down but it also broke every support 4x4 post off many at ground level.

I called a few fence companies along with Western Fence to get estimates.  Western Fence quickly sent someone out to look at the damage and give me an estimate to clean up the mess and replace the damaged section of my fence.

Everyone I interfaced with at Western Fence were terrific from Andrew who gave me the estimate, Jennifer and Shannon who do the scheduling & handled the financial transactions to the actual fence crew of Brian & Shaun who dug out the old posts & put in the new posts along with cross members and put in the new planks plus replaced two gates.   Brian & Shaun were amazing, they worked extremely well with each other and always took time to discuss what they were doing and why with me.

Western Fence turned my disaster into a beautiful new fence.  The only thing missing is a Western Fence sign on the fence so everyone who walks by it could know who built it.

The salesman was a great guy. The workers did what they were supposed to do. I was really happy with them. I would have them again. They did a good job. They were on time. I had them come back twice. They finished what I had done but I had another section that had wood there and I didn't like it and so I had them come back and put that 9-foot piece for me and they were right there and done it. They're the only people I called. I thought they were really professional.

Everything went great!  Concepsion's crew was great getting the posts in and being really helpful explaining things to me.  After the posts had set they came out and placed the rest of the fence.  Ed and his guy worked above and beyond getting everything in place for us!  Can't say enough good things!

We live in a rural town 130 miles from any big city. We expected to pay more for someone to come here but we had a really
difficult time finding a company that didn't charge a fortune for traveling !
Damian and John were our installers and arrived on time and got right to work. They were great to communicate with. They
went through the whole job process and they listened to our requests as well as answered all our questions.
Since they had to travel so far to the job, they had to dig all of our post holes by hand. They were so quick and efficient even though it was a very hot day here and the soil where we live is not easy to dig up. They didn't cut any corners and I noticed them checking and checking again that they were doing the fence level and straight.
We are so thrilled with the end result and especially for the service we received. We have another side of our house that we weren't sure if we wanted to fence or not, but we have decided that we will and we will for sure be using Western Fence and
will definitely request that  Damian and John come here again.

They came and did the whole job in three days in bitter cold. the fence looks great and we have been very happy with it. We had a problem with the gate closing and with one corner of the fence was coming loose so I sent them an email. They did not respond to the email but simply showed up in about a week and repaired the problems under warranty.
I think they could communicate more but I am happy with their work.

AWFUL!  With the exception of two laborers, this organization proved to be unresponsive to calls, unprofessional and just plain uncaring about performance.  They repeatedly delayed the project without notice and managed to stretch it out over six months just to install the fence and railings.  Calls to the office were not returned.  Workers did not clean up messes they created.  Tiles on porch were broken because worker was unskilled and untrained to do the job.  It took forever to be completed and was a great source of stress and unpleasantness.  I wouldn't use them for free to do anything.

HORRIBLE!!!  First salesman Kameren was very nice and responsive, but he was in an accident during our bid process and not available to help us get the project going.
Second salesman Jerry was also nice during visit to our home, however that was the last time we spoke with him as he did not return e-mails or phone calls made over a month long period.  Jerry did not bother to actually look at the property or what needed to be done either... he just went with the previous bids numbers which meant that several key points were overlooked.
Tried to get them to not remove the old fence until they were ready to put the new fence in because we and two adjoining neighbors all have dogs, but they insisted on removing the fence long before they had anyone to replace it.  Kept telling me they would be out any day, then stopped responding to my e-mails and phone calls.
When I finally went to the company in person so I could talk to someone, the manager (Jerry's son)  was condescending and argumentative.  This by far has been the worst service experience I have ever had.
Consider yourself warned!

Kamren the sales rep was so easy to work with. He answered all of my questions, was very up front about costs and quality and continued to be helpful even once they had begun the install and all the way to the end. The post installer took such pride in his work and had me come out several times to go over exactly what he was doing. The install took longer than expected because we special ordered some lattice that took several weeks to get in but as soon as they had the materials they came out and finished the install on a Friday night and they stayed until it was done which happened to be 10:30pm. I was so impressed! We live in a very windy area and one of our gates wasn't closing easily so I called and the warranty department was so quick to respond and easy to work with. I would definitely use western fence again!

They were bad. They came and gave an estimate and so we picked them and then we kept getting told that they were going to start next week and honestly it went on for weeks. When they finally came we told them that we need a warning on when they are going to start so we can have our dogs inside and our neighbors dogs inside, but they just came and showed up and tore our fence down and didn't put a new fence up until our dog ended up in our neighbors house.

I wasn’t totally satisfied with their work. They misrepresented what they would and could do. I had asked for a special gate to be made and I drew a picture of it. They said that it could be done, but they came back afterwards and said that they couldn’t do it, so I had to settle for something less that they could do. They had a new person to come out and do the original bid, and he did not indicate to me that in the tear down it did not include the cost of digging out the posts, and that it had to be paid separately, which I never paid after I spoke to the vice president of the company. After the tear down they were supposed to remove all the old pickets and four by fours and posts, and so that wasn’t removed until the project was finished rather than after the tear down. I had all that junk in the second drive the entire time. Also, for the two sided gate that I made, which could be opened both sides, rather than sending the person out who fabricates them and they do that offsite since they use metal framing. There is a slant in the drive and next to it, so they built the gate square and so it doesn’t really fit. They juggled it around a little bit, but some of the pickets here are too high off the ground, others are too low on the other end of fence, so they said that they wouldn’t fix it and they said that they didn’t do special gates without additional money. All that they had to do is to make a parallel grill rather than a square one when they molded the metal together, but they never even came out to see if that was needed. I would not use them again in the future.

Western Fence Co. is untrustworthy and unprofessional. Working with Western Fence was a nightmare. I signed a contract for $5,418 to provide powder-coated chain link and ornamental iron fencing with $2,709 down on Nov. 14, 2011. My credit card was charged on Nov. 16, 2011. They said installation was two weeks out. It is now Jan. 17, 2012 and the only work they have done in nine weeks is to install 19 fence posts. I have not been able to let my animals outside for over two months.

Numerous calls to the salesperson or someone in charge were not returned. When I finally did reach them, I was fed every excuse in the book for the delay: workers don't show up to work, the powder coating company is late, our crews are working out of state, we are finishing up a major commercial job, etc. When they did arrive after 5 weeks to install the posts, they sent two guys with a beat up fence post digger to use by hand.

The salesman said he was so sorry for my sad situation, did not blame me for being angry, really wanted to build the fence for me, blah, blah, blah. Bottom line is that they bid jobs low to get lots of work and then cannot deliver the goods, partly, I believe, because they do lots of work for the state of Utah and commercial business, so residential business appears to be less important. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Their lower bid is not worth the headache and aggravation they will cause you. It is anyone’s guess when they will finish your job.

However, their installers and ironworkers are true craftsmen, skilled and efficient. They do pay their employees well so they are able to keep good workers. The fence was finally completed on Feb. 17, 2012.

During the bidding process they were great - their price was the most reasonable and the salesperson was not pushy or intimidating like others were who came out to bid, just informative and thorough.  The job was scheduled for a few weeks later, and then it took 2 people 2 days to remove out old fence and then set the posts for the new fence.  During the digging process for the posts, they cut through one of my sprinkler drip lines, despite me showing them where it was and making it easy to move out of the way as needed.  This was more an annoyance than a big deal, since I can repair a drip line easily enough, and up to this point I was satisfied and happy with the work being done.

The bad experience came 10 days later when 2 new people came to put the rails and pickets on the posts.  One of the workers pointed out that many of the posts, while "perfect" from the finished side, were very chewed up, gouged, and unsightly from the other side.  He said that he would not use those boards, would use what he had that day and would come back the next day with new boards to finish up the rest of the fence.  He also said that they would sand off the logos that were stamped on many of the boards.  The next day came, and he told me that his supervisor had informed him that he would not be allowed to open a new batch of boards for our fence, that we would need to use what we were given.  Their argument was that the finished side was perfect, so the unfinished side could be somewhat unsightly.  I do not understand this argument, because a fence has two sides and my neighbors and I see both of them.   He ended up picking out the best of the more unsightly pieces and used those to finish the job. He also told me that there had been no sandpaper available at the shop, so he would not be sanding off the stamped boards.

When I asked if he could come back the next day to sand off the logos and perhaps try again to bring new boards, he informed me that the only way I would get someone back out there to fix my concerns would be to call the company to complain and request a "call back" appointment.  He said that those types of appointments were backlogged at the moment, and that it would likely take several weeks to a month before anyone came out.

In the end, do we have a decent and functional new fence?  Yes.  Do I feel like I got my money's worth? Not entirely.  Will I notice the deficiencies in the 15 feet or so of unsightly boards in a years time?  Probably not. But when I pay for a new fence, I expected it to be done with nothing but the best materials.  I may try to make a callback appointment, but at this point I will probably just cut my loses and sand off the stamped boards myself in the spring when I stain the fence.

I called them because they had done some work for me several years ago. So, I did not get any other estimates. They were fine and they did a good job. They really were out in a timely manner but somehow they did not communicate that well. They got backed up on the work because of the rain and I kept thinking that they were going to come but they did not. However, it was still within the time frame that they told me. So, I thought that it was okay and it was just that I was anxious. It was fine and they were fast. It looked good. I thought that I paid a lot for a little fence across my driveway and I thought that I should have checked around. It was crazy and it seemed expensive to me but I don't know as I could have probably got something for cheaper. The quality was okay except that there were some little marks on it and I don't know why there were marks on it when I paid so much money. It is probably okay and I don't know what to compare it to. It seemed to me that they could have come out and put my post in sooner. They kept saying that they would put it in but there was rain in the south part of the valley but they could have come out and put my post in as there was no rain here. The girl on the phone would always say that she did not know as to when to say. I had a good experience before. I would call them in the future but I would also call some other companies too before I call them. They are a big company and they are good but a smaller company might have been cheaper and quicker. If they were a big company then they would have other things.
