Vivid Desert Design

Taking on a landscaping project of any size is very overwhelming and Laura made the process very easy. Laura is very personable and easy to work with, everything was on schedule. She?s an expert and has a really solid understanding of plants that work well in our climate and how to arrange them in a landscape (colors, shapes). I was working on a budget and Laura was very good about suggesting the best places for cost savings. I'm obviously a fan of Laura's work and Vivid Desert Design and am happy to spread the word!

We called Laura and set up an appointment. She came on time. We discussed what we had in mind and she offered some more suggestions. Laura sent us several rough designs. My husband and I looked them over and combined from each what we liked into the final plan. We are starting the yard this Spring and we couldn't be more pleased with the plant selections, placement of plants, and ideas for our patios that Laura had. It was a pleasant transaction and we are excited for the final result as we work at our yard.

She met us at our house and talked about our ideas and some her own, then returned to measure the spaces. We then corresponded by email and she gave us a list of possible plants and trees. My wife and I chose a number of them based on pictures, and she incorporated those into the design. The finished product was a set of plans to scale with locations of new plants and design features.

Laura is a great landscape designer! She was very attentive to our desires, and took the time to get our input and include it in the design. We're very satisfied with the design, and so far (we're not done doing the work yet) it looks great. Laura first came to give us an estimate. Based on measurements of the size of the area and the style we wanted, she gave us an estimate of $600. After we approved, she took detailed measurements of every nook and cranny of the yard, including where the slopes are, and a list of some plants that we like. She came up with four different designs of the yard, and we selected one (which we hadn't even thought of, but it was a nice linear / modern looking design). She later send an email with many other waterwise plants and fruit trees, which we selected from. She gave us a draft design, which we made a single change to, and then she returned a final drawing, and had it printed on large format paper so we'd have a nice document to use when doing the landscaping. As a bonus, the final price was $100 less than the initial estimate. Overall, we are very happy with her service -- her style and individualized design work won us over.
