Jeff immediately identified the issue and explained it, and said that the best thing to do would be to order a new faucet, and he recommended some brands and told me what specs to look for. He didn't charge for the first visit, just for the return when he installed the new sink, and also replaced a rusted valve underneath. He was great to work with in every respect (punctuality, friendliness, price), and I will definitely hire him the next time we need any plumbing work done.

Jeff is clean, prompt, very polite, and even loved on our dogs :). We have had him fix several minor problems over the years, and he has always been fantastic. We will hire him again and again. He stands behind his work; when the float in the toilet wasn't adjusted just right, he came back and replaced it with a better one. Great work.

It was a pleasure doing business with Jeff.

He's a fun guy and does a great job. Priced right too!

He's quick and efficient and really knows his stuff. He brought the drain kit with him. And changed that out fast. Then I mentioned the handles for the tub looked old. He went and got a replacement kit with the chrome covers and stems that go inside.

I paid for the parts $62 I believe, and $100 for his labor!

It looks and works like new!!!

WE HAD A DRAIN IN OUR BASEMENT FROM OUR SINKS UPSTAIRS, THAT NEEDED A CLEAN OUT ADDED JUST IN CASE IT EVER CLOGGED.
JEFF HAD A GREAT IDEA AND IT WORKED OUT PERFECTLY ! HE MADE A SMOOTH TRANSITION WITH THE PERFECT ANGLE TO RUN A SNAKE, AND IT HAS A SCREW ON CAP FOR EASY REMOVAL... HE HAD ALL THE ABS PARTS ON HIS VAN!
SOME FINE WORK!
THANK YOU

Very well. The plumber arrived within a half hour of his estimated time of arrival and was done within 45 minutes. This wasn't a highly complicated job I don't think, but he did a very professional job and seemed very efficient and friendly. His prices are very reasonable as well.

Jeff showed up same day. Fixed the pipe in two hours. He was professional, quick, and a nice guy. He cleaned up and even disinfected my kitchen sink and disposal.
I was in a bind and called multiple plumbers. Jeff was able to fit me in between jobs same day with no 'rush' charge.
I'm surprised he doesn't have more fantastic reviews on Angie's List as I'd recommend Jeff and Sugarhouse Plumbing without hesitation.

It went great!
He was there in about an hour. He had everything necessary to fix the thing permanently!!! Which he did...Truly one of the best plumbers I've seen yet. NO EXCUSES!
He doesn't let the stress of the situation get to him. He work quickly cutting the copper pipe and removing the old valve. That guy really knows his stuff. He sweated the solder around the joints and had it running and not dripping in a 1/2 hour!

I had him do a much harder job 2 years ago in a crawl space. For $200 he fixed a broken drain line under the floor. Not a fun job... He had all the pipes on the van!
Thankyou Jeff Weight of Sugarhouse Plumbing and Repair.

BOTH TIMES IT WAS AT RENTAL PROPERTY AND THE RENTERS WERE ASLO VERY HAPPY!

This plumber is the most unprofessional and quot;professionaland quot; I've ever had the misfortune of hiring. He did shoddy work, tried to charge us two and a half times what his estimate was, cursed up a storm while he was working, and then sent us a bizarre series of apologetic and then increasingly indignant text messages afterwards, which included bigoted, anti-semitic language. Please read on for details.

I called around to different plumbers to get an estimate for this job--moving a garbage disposal from one sink to another. I got estimates ranging from $90 to $200 (up to $400, if the garbage disposal unit needed to be replaced). We decided to go with Jeff Weight (Sugar House Plumbing) because unlike any of the other plumbers I called, he actually came out to the house to give his estimate. After looking over the setup, he said the job would take under an hour and would not require any extra parts, so he estimated the job at $105.

When he came back to do the job, he looked at it, messed around with it for awhile (acting increasingly upset about it), and then after an hour finally decided he needed some other parts. Despite leaving us without either of our sinks working, we said we'd be ok with him coming back another day, as it was already 5:30 by this time. He said he'd rather come back and do it the same evening, and we said that would be ok. (Note that it was his preference to finish that same evening.) At no point did he give us an updated estimate, or even indicate how much more time he would need. He did not keep us informed of what was going on. All we knew was that he didn't have some part he needed, and he would have to come back and finish the job when he got the part.

To his credit, he was very apologetic. His excuse was that he hadn't been doing a lot of plumbing lately, and basically he was rusty. Huh. Not very confidence-inspiring, but ok...

Jeff came back, more than two hours later, and started working. If he were a physician I guess you'd call it and quot;bedside mannerand quot;--I don't know what you call it in a plumber, but Jeff's was terrible: He was clearly very stressed out during the whole job, which made us more than a little nervous. He was dropping some serious curse-words, loudly enough that we could hear them in the next room. There's generally no objection to foul language in my household; we curse like sailors. But he couldn't have known that, and for a professional to be using that language on the job was inappropriate, and very worrisome (and quot; What the **** is going on in there? Are we going to be able to use our kitchen when this is done?and quot;).

It took him another two hours before he was finished, during which time we tried to ignore the cursing, banging, and general emotional melting-down noises coming from our kitchen. At around 9:30 pm Jeff came and got us, and asked us to come look at the job and the bill. The work looked great, at first blush. The garbage disposal was switched from the one sink to the other, which is what we had asked for. Jeff told us he warranties his work, so if anything leaked, just to give him a call and he'd come out and fix it. We thanked him, told him it looked awesome, and thanked him again.

Then he gave us the bill. Jeff had estimated the job at $105, but the bill was for $265, and he said he'd given us a discount. We were a little shocked, and sat there looking at it for a moment, unsure of how to proceed. On the one hand, he had spent rather a long time (total of about three hours) working. But on the other hand, he had never told us how much the parts were going to cost, or given us an updated estimate when he realized the job would take longer than he had thought. I had expected it would be similar to when you're getting a car serviced--if they discover it's going to be more than initially estimated, they call you and get you to ok the new estimate before proceeding with the work. They don't just spring a giant bill on you when you come to pick up your car. Or at least they don't if they're reputable, honest professionals. During the time he was working, a couple of times Jeff showed us a piece of equipment and said, and quot; You need a new one of these, and quot; but both times it was something that looked like it would cost $5 at the hardware store--something that looked like a little metal collar or something. We had no clue he'd be billing us $89 for parts alone.

You could ask, and quot;Well, why didn't you ask him how much the new parts were going to cost, or if he was going to bill you for the extra labor?and quot; Good question. I guess I was overly impressed by his willingness to come out and give us a free estimate. It made me think he was going to be a real professional, so I wasn't keeping tabs as closely on him as I might have otherwise. Also, he explicitly said he wanted us to refer our friends to him, and he kept apologizing (profusely, unnecessarily) about the initial mistake, so in the back of my mind I figured maybe he wanted to and quot;make it rightand quot;. I never thought it out in so much detail, though. He never mentioned anything about billing the extra time or what or how much the parts were, so I just didn't worry about it, until I saw the bill.

After an awkward silence, I told Jeff I was a little shocked by the bill. He didn't understand why, so I tried to explain to him that the reason we chose him (over, say, the guy who said he'd do it for $90) was because he had actually come out and looked at the setup, so ostensibly $105 should be a rock-solid estimate. He said something like, and quot;Well, then, why don't you pay me what you think it's worth?and quot; It wasn't a matter of us paying what we thought it was worth; if we could afford it, I'd have paid the whole d*** $265. It was a matter of not being able to afford to pay so much more than we had thought we would be paying. If he had at any point said, and quot;You know, this job is going to end up closer to $300 than $100and quot;, then we would have probably said, and quot;Ok, let's just forget it then. We'll pay you for your time but we can live with the garbage disposal being in the tiny, inconvenient sink for now.and quot;

We ended up paying him $200, which covered his initial estimate plus the parts. You could say we and quot;stiffedand quot; him two hours of work, but I'd point out we paid almost twice what the estimate was, and couldn't really afford to pay more. It was a hard position to be in.

He thanked us, and stormed off--yes, a strange sequence--saying, and quot;I need a new career.and quot; Unfortunately, he left his utility light, so as he was driving out of our driveway I called him and told him we had his light. He said he'd be right back for it. Nope. We never saw him again, although I did have the following bizarre text exchange with him, over the next three days:

The first text arrived late that same night, at 11:42 PM:
Jeff Weight (JW): [My name], I really screwed up with u guys. I was so livid 2night that i just drove home. But not at u, at myself. I was very unprofessional and i would like to come meet with u both and explain myself and we can decide what is fair. U were both so nice. Dont lose hope in humanity. I wil call.
Me: Ok. Thanks, Jeff. Don't beat yourself up about it. We'd be happy to talk to you about it if you like. Feel free to call tomorrow or whenever. Have a good night.
JW: Thanku, thanku! I promise u i never meant to take advantage of ur kind nature. I just screwed up in the initial bid because of reasons i will explain. tell you about and then you can decide what to do with me. Sweet dreams to u and ur lovely companion.

One sink started leaking almost immediately, but we gave it a couple of days before we contacted him because he said he was going to call anyway. When we didn't hear from him, I texted him two days after he did the job:
Me: Hey, Jeff, we've got a little leak under one of the sinks.
