About us

Stanfield Shutter is Utah’s premier interior shutter manufacturer, serving Utah for over 60 years with integrity, quality products, and superb service. We use the most advanced and proven methods to mill, assemble, finish and install your shutters. We also offer a wide variety of blinds, shades, and vertical blinds, making Stanfield Shutter your complete source for quality window coverings. Our Plantation Shutters are a culmination of the highest quality products, materials, manufacturing and installation techniques, and our attention to detail is what sets a Stanfield Shutter apart from the rest. Our shutter lines include the Savannah, Colonial, Georgian Lodge and Newport vinyl shutters. The blades of a shutter are called louvers. We offer many different sizes ranging from 1 inch to 6 ½”. We use the Slim-Line louver design. This design improves louver control, shutter aesthetics and architecture. The louver is also thinner overall than other louver designs which will dramatically improve your view. Stanfield Shutter uses the highest quality acrylic paint and stain finishes manufactured by Sherwin Williams. Our finishes have been engineered and developed for exceptional performance, durability, endurance and resistance. These finishes will not yellow like oil, lacquer or conversion varnish. Our finishes are also smooth making them easy to clean. Our shutters carry a lifetime manufacture’s warranty that covers all manufacture defective parts. When you purchase shutters from us you won’t just get shutters, you’ll receive the dedication and reliability required to take care of you and your shutters in the future should the need arise. Because the architecture, design and construction of shutters differs from every other type of window covering, we custom design, engineer and build precision shutters to fit any window shape or opening imaginable. We use the latest building techniques, machinery and technology available and employ the use of a CNC router capable of cutting any shape with pinpoint accuracy.

Very well done. The bid was professionally done with all the options and recommendations clearly articulated. The installation was also smooth and professional. The installers were professional and respected the needs of our household. They were thorough and efficient.

Frame didn't fit when the install crew first came out. Took the frame back to be adjusted and repainted. Second time the crew got it installed, but the installers were NOT professional at all. Lots of gaps and wedged posts, terrible caulking job, and dripping paint everywhere. Frame still didn't fit right. Panels rubbed against the frame all over the place. Gaps between panels/frames were not the same throughout, making it look ridiculous. Same install crew came back to fix things, but didn't even touch-up the paint where they sanded down shutter panels and frames exposing the bare "engineered wood" - which is just MDF. It's like they only had 20 minutes on their schedule to allow it, and they just left without finishing the work, leaving us very unsatisfied. It's one big window, but nothing about this company points to quality or professionalism. They came highly recommended from family -- where they were given beautiful shutters for all of their windows 7-10 years ago, but today's quality and professionalism is gone based on our experience. We spent nearly $1,000 on window casings, new window sill, and professional paint job for this window by itself, when we moved in, which stands out as a true professional install. However, now with the poorly-constructed shutters, and dripping paint, and other major defects, it looks like we paid a7th-grade home-economics workshop team to put this window treatment together. I guess we'll just have to live with it as is.

We chose Stanfield Shutters because of their decent reviews, along with the fact that their price was similar to a company we used years ago (some windows more, some less). Grant was great to give us a quick estimate over the phone, then followed up quickly with an in-home estimate. Expectations for timing on the install were spot on, as we got a text asking to setup the install very close to when we were planning for it. Then it was downhill from there. The day they wanted to install, I was specific about concerns with three people working from home that day in some of the rooms that needed the install (thank you Covid-19). I was assured that they would come at a specific time (that would have worked). However, the installers showed up 1/2 hour later than I was told. Long story short, the installers were very rude, as I later learned that they didn't like being told to do the basement first, as I had to use my office because they were late. Add to it, I had someone's fist pounding on my office door, followed by yelling through the door, followed by proceeding without so much as a polite ask if it's okay, as I was on the phone with a client. I also got snapped at with a raised voice when I told him I was working, which is absolutely unacceptable to me as a paying customer. I literally only needed 2 minutes to wrap up a call, which he didn’t even bother to ask. I have security camera footage of the mistreatment by the installers, neighbors who witnessed the yelling that took place in my front yard, a copy of the text confirming an exact time and my concerns about that morning. However, when speaking to Gary (the person who called me about the issue and told me he was “what I was going to get” when I asked for a supervisor or owner) I was told about their policies and that they should have left if the rooms weren't all available. He said the scheduler wasn't there to defend herself when I let him know they were supposed to be there at a set time but told me "you've got a text I guess." In reference to the installers, I got "there's two sides to every story". When my neighbor called about what he witnessed to encourage them to talk to their installers about how to treat customers and impact their brand he got "there's two sides to every story." Evidently customers don't come first with this company. They must have enough work that they aren't worried about their mistreatment of my family, as I got more defense and scolding about not being prepared than actual apologies. Gary even implied that there was furniture in the way that the installers shouldn’t move, and again should have left because of it. However, the only “furniture” that had to be moved was a small basket of toys I hadn’t moved yet when the installer barged into my office. Really? This was their defense? The only saving grace was that Grant, the estimator, came to our home to finish the rushed job the installers left. He cleaned up the seams, did some touch up paint, adjusted some loose louvers and couldn’t have been more polite. He even waited two minutes for my son to get off a call for work to touch up the shutters in his room, without complaint. It’s unfortunate he wasn’t the installer. Evidently they only have one installation team. For that reason, along with Gary’s handling of the issue, I would absolutely caution anyone from using their company. I would NOT recommend.

Because we recently moved, this is our second time working with Stanfield. Stanfield sent a rep as our new windows were being installed so exact measurements could be made. They then rushed manufacture of the shutters to meet our timing request. The installers arrived on the appointed day and the installation was perfect. We love our Stanfield plantation shutters! Both installers were clean and friendly. We would recommend Stanfield to anyone!

Went very well. They were always professional and punctual. We really did an upgrade to our home. They look lovely. The new shutters should also help with the insulation in the basement.

No one called to let us know when our install date was, so we called and were given a date. Two days before the date, as I was leaving for work, the installers came. They told me that they were scheduled to come today and the following day (as there was a technical issue and they were not able to get all the shutters made).

When they installed the shutters they had, they rearranged furniture and did. It put it back in place. They also left not only choking hazards but also sharp metal tacks in the room of toddlers. They removed the brown paper from the Windows (which was put up by the sales man) and left it on the floor. Needless to say, I will not be recommending this company to anyone.

We called a quote from Stanfield and several other companies for shutters in our home. The person who came arrived early and took
measurements and showed samples of the different designs. He emailed me a quote which I thought was very competitive especially considering the options we choose which included rodless shutter with a 30/70 split. He confirmed the measurements once we gave him 50% of the quote. After 3 days he gave us an installation date of 3 weeks later. They arrived on time and installed it. The installers were very professional and they did a very good job. They also cleaned up the place and did not leave any dirt. I would definitely recommend them and call them to do a job again.

It was a very positive experience and the work they do seems to be great quality. I would give this company an excellant rating.I had Wasatch Shutter do my bedroom windows and I also loved their work. However, Stanfield Shutter was much cheaper in price and the quility seems to be as good.
