This was the worst landscaping experience I have ever had! I hired Marinda Coleman to landscape my front yard. I gave her $1000 down and she cashed the check in April of 2011. She was supposed to start work that May. The weather was bad, but she never returned my many phone calls. When I finally got a commitment, it was August. I had other workers scheduled to do the manual dumping and hauling for the project. She showed up one day early, causing me to scramble for help. She was at the house 2 hours with a sod cutter and removed all of my sod. She did not reschedule to come back. I repeatedly called her to reschedule and she never answered my calls. My yard was a mess all summer. Finally on September 6th I emailed her and fired her. I followed it up with 2 phone calls asking for my money back. I got no response. I had to take her to small claims court to get my money back. For some reason she felt that she was entitled to $753.45 for her "work". I never even got an invoice until after she was served the lawsuit! She was rude, arrogant to me and unwilling to answer calls, but more than happy to cash the check. If I wouldn't have taken her to court I wouldn't have gotten anything back! Due to her dragging things out until late fall, I had to live with a mud pit all winter. I would never recommend her for any work.
