Dylan was easy to work with! He planned out the project and let us have samples so we could mull-over what materials we wanted. Matt was the builder and the deck looks great! We are very happy. Matt did a great job. We have really appreciated him involving us in the project decisions. As you know, there are always minor issues that pop-up when you get down to the nitty-gritty of the build. Some builders we have had in the past just make their own decisions and go on. Matt was great because he would come and involve us in the decisions so we had a say-so in the overall look. He even made a few adjustments for us to accommodate some of our "old people" needs, and he would give us time to think about what we wanted; no on-the-spot decision-making! Consequently, we are happy with every aspect of the deck, with no buyers' remorse here! And, of course, I will highly recommend these guys to my friends and family for any of their deck and fencing needs!

He sealed all of the water entry points and replaced the bottom piece. No leaks!

We had Dylan and his team install a new fence and deck in our backyard. There are not enough good words to say about them! Dylan had amazing customer service, his team was personable and easy to work with and the quality of their work was awesome. We are so happy with the results and would absolutely recommend them. The work was performed on time, quickly, and on budget.  We like the results.  Dylan was very responsive.  It did take a couple of months to get scheduled, but we weren't in a hurry.

Dylan and his crew were phenomenal.  Dylan met with us a couple of times a few weeks before starting the job to talk about and confirm what we wanted.  He offered good suggestions and was able to accommodate our requests.  A couple of days before he began working, we had a new exterior door installed that caused us to change our plans.  His response was "no problem, we can handle that."  After he and his crew began work there were additional 'in flight' changes.  His response was always "no problem, we can do that."  At first I thought the price was a little high, but at the end of the job, I wondered how even with the 'in flight' changes he was able to do the job for the price, which didn't change from his original quote.
The quality of the work is outstanding.  The whole crew was friendly and a pleasure to work with.  I cannot say enough good things about this company and would highly recommend them to anyone.

We are completely pleased with the final product.  Dylan did everything he promised he would do, oversaw the job himself and made sure it was up to the standard of quality that we were looking for.   We couldn't be more pleased and are planning to use him again in the Spring to do some work on  an additional deck.

I called to request a quote, which was provided as requested and within a reasonable time.  Upon receiving the quote, I asked questions about other options and received a revised quote.  In the end, I requested a bigger job than the original one.  Their next availability was about a month in the future, "after Thanksgiving."  I was pleased that they actually showed up at the start of the week after Thanksgiving, just as planned.  The deposit at the start of the job was reasonable, but I didn't know about it until just before they began.  This added a bit of unnecessary stress, but was manageable, and communication was good other than that oversight.
This job was more expensive than we had originally hoped, and a bit spendier than the other quotes we received, but the quality was very good, the provider was reliable, less expensive options were offered, and the cost was exactly as bid, no surprises -- so it was worth a little higher cost.  I would not hesitate to do business with SLC Decks & Fence again.

We chose SLC Deck and Fence because of the high degree of satisfaction expressed by Angies List members and because the quotation that they gave us came in way lower than the quotations of other providers whom we invited to bid.

We could not have been more pleased with the outcome.

The providers turned up on time and had the job completed according to schedule despite very cold weather.

The result is spectacular--the new decks look absolutely wonderful and the front door looks like new.

No effort was spared to do everything necessary. For example more of the deck undergirdings were replaced than anticipated and four days were spent on refinishing the front door.

All this was done within budget according to the original quotation.

Dylan and his team were very pleasant to work with and consulted us along the way to make sure that our preferences were taken into account.

They did a very good job for us. I had saved a lot of the original deck clips invisible so that you couldn't see the screws in the deck so they felt that the technology had improved since I did the original installation. They therefore suggested a different system that they were familiar with so we went ahead and agreed with that. They were very experienced and knew just what they were doing.

They were very efficient, came out on Thursday to mount posts and Friday to put up the fencing. It was done completely and even in the smaller areas under an existing deck, they did a great job at filling all the holes where the dogs could get through. Also, I had them quote a very large deck project (2 levels, new deck where none exists) and Dylan was very upfront that the project was beyond what they normally do. I appreciated his candor about the project.

They sanded and stained deck. It looked new afterward! Very satisfied with quality of work and workers. Unfortunately, pre work preparation was poor as was post work clean. They did not cover children's outdoor playhouse or sand box under the deck, nor the deck furniture they put there from Deck. Sawdust was everywhere and on everything! I spent several hours doing clean up. They put deck furniture back on deck still covered with sawdust. |I will use them again, if they will be sure to cover everything before they do any sanding and do better clean up of any sawdust!

They were very good about communicating with me about the project. I had used a specific product for anchoring the boards and they explained why that system wasn't the best and recommended a better system, which I agreed to.

I am in California and my home is in SLC so Dylan coordinated a time with the tenants and repaired and stained the deck at the time/date he said he would be there. My tenants told me he did an amazing job and the deck looks great! Thanks Dylan!

His crew was pleasant, hardworking, and tidy. They got the job done in a few days and cleaned up after themselves daily to protect our dogs and my son from harm. Everything looks so good.

My neighbor across the street loves it (she stares at that fence from her house) and invited Dylan to come give her a bid. She thought it was too expensive, but from my perspective the price reflects the quality.
