He did the repair in a perfunctory and less than pleasant way while trying to pump up the cost with other over priced repairs and services. He even tried to get me to do a review of HIS service over HIS cell phone while standing there. That was strange and disturbing to me. Those reviews should be confidential!

They sent me somebody else who helps them out. Evidently they work for Sears. I liked them. Sears has been doing fine, always. They are good. They guaranteed it forever. Everything was fine. I was really pleased. They were really good.

Sears has a miserable job scheduling on-time and keeping their appointments. The first time, it took us a week and a half to get someone in. They hit a few buttons, ran diagnostics, couldn't figure out the issue, but got the dishwasher to work...for a week. We then called to get a follow-up appointment. That was going to be 2 weeks out, on a Thursday with a window from 1-5pm. My wife took the afternoon off for the appointment, and had to call to get a time estimate when she hadn't heard anything by 3:30pm that day. She got an estimate of between 4:15-6:15pm. She then gets a call at 4:15pm, saying that the technician is "sick" and that the earliest they can reschedule us for is ANOTHER WEEK OUT! They refused to get a technician in sooner. They refused to refund our earlier fee. They want us to wait 3 weeks, waste our time, and burn our vacation when they can't schedule they people properly or even diagnose the issue. Frankly, given the pace at which Sears is closing their department stores, there's part of me that questions why I ever thought they'd be able to run an appliance repair business better than their stores...

I just spent $130 to have someone vacuum out the bottom of my dryer. $80 for the service call and deductible. $50 for servicing the dryer. The service was great. We had an service call between 1-5. I took a half day off of work. At 5 o'clock the guy wasn't here. I called Sears, and he is just finishing up an job, and will be here. I asked when, and they can't tell you. They said, he will call before he comes. Well, he didn't call, and he arrived an half a hour later. So, the work is A, the timing. I have two Sears machines. They are Kenmore machines, and they have serviced them before, they are as good as anyone else I know. Not remarkably wonderful, but not bad. They aren't punctual, but everything else is fine.

I maintain a service agreement for appliance repair with Sears. I bought a three year maintenance package three years ago. They're very thorough, they're dependable, informative and answer questions. It was four appliance, so they probably were here probably here maybe an hour and a half. Each time they've been very professional.

Delivery I would put a C because, it turned out, I found out the dishwasher was not...in fact I would give them a D. Because I had a problem with the dishwasher recently or maybe a year ago. The person who came out to fix it said that it had not been installed correctly originally. I would not give them a good grade for that. One of the appliances that they removed, I paid extra to have it put on the truck and removed from the premises and they didn't do that. They left it by the garbage. I called Sears and I complained and they came out to pick it up. I was really very angry about that which is probably why we went to another place. It would have been my responsibility to take it to a dump. I've had the appliances 8 years, who knows how long they'll last. The salespeople in the appliance department are always right up there and there are a lot of them. They always want to make sales and they are helpful. The salespeople I'd say were very professional. I would give them an A but as I said the delivery people I would give them a D...delivery and installation. Honestly if I were to purchase another appliance, the first thing I' d do is go to Consumer Reports to see what's recommended. If it's a Kenmore, I'd go to Sears because it's the only place you can get it. If it's not a Kenmore, then I'd go some where else again.

They wouldn't hook the gas up to it. The pricing was great, and they were here when they said they would be. I will never use Sears again for appliance purchase. They should have either told me they weren't going to hook up the gas, or they should have had a qualified person to hook up the gas. The men who brought the oven were skanky and rude. They did not clean up after themselves. Don't go there, turn away! Go elsewhere!

I had a horrible experience that took 3 or 4 months. They were nasty and rude and I will never use Sears again on any home improvement. I said I wanted the roof done first, but they started on the siding. Winter was coming and the work was less than stellar. I ended up getting my money back on the roof and they completed the siding job. They were late sometimes and were supposed to switch off every 10 days and they didn't. They were not very professional.

It went great. I was suprised that they would be able to repair it. It is a pretty old machine. They had the parts int heir truck. They were able to explain what the problem was instead of just fixing it.

The sales person was extremely rude and pushy. He was really annoying. His price was out of this world. He didn’t seem to listen. He came in with an agenda and that was to sell us the most expensive piece of garbage that he possibly could and I did not appreciate that. He also didn’t know about the product he was selling because I asked a lot of questions and he could not answer the questions. He was not knowledgeable. His bid was $11000 for bottom of the line equipment and if we would have signed it that day, when he was there, he would have given it to us for $10000. He wasn’t responsive at all. He was here on time.

When I made this purchase the employee was helping two people at once so he was distracted. The delivery came and the main person who was in charge was rude and impatient. There were two men with him helping and they were extremely courteous and seemed maybe a little embarrassed by his behavior. He said if I had any problems to call a number he wrote down for me. After they left I called that number to make a complaint concerning his behavior; I dialed the number three times and found I had been given a wrong number. I went into the store and told the manager what had happened and that the man was less than courteous; I also explained how I was given the wrong number and the manager pointed out the number was one number off the correct one. The manager was in no way apologetic. I will never go back to Sears, it was so unpleasant.

I felt the overall contact went well.  The salesman was very knowledgable and pleasent.  He happily made a second quote and was proud of working for Sears.  I would happily get another quote from him on other Sears products.  He was always on time for appointments.

Purchased a new Water Heater, I had next day Installation that I paid for up-front at Sears. The Installers were not Sears employees, but contractors. Before they did the work, one of them told me "it was out of the scope" and he needed an additional $200. I questioned for what, he showed me a little corrosion on the end connector. I told him, you would never re-use that fitting anyway, and it was completely in the scope of the installation, his reply... "ok, $140" Again I asked for what, "labor and some additional pipe" I again pointed to the exisisting pipe and questioned $140 for 4" of new pipe and labor was already included. At that point I just wanted them to get out of my house. He said $40 or they can leave, I accepted, as I needed to leave for work soon. As he was leaving, he asked me to sign a document, I asked what it was. His reply "Just stating to Sears, that we did the work for no additional charges, and you are satisfied"
Now I know these guys are not Sears employees, and this review is for Sears. However, I believe Sears should be accountable for who they put in my house. Sears should be accountable for the partners they choose to work with. In essence Sears ripped me off to the sum of $40.
I recently asked a plumber what it would cost to install, he said he would do it for $50-$60 plus permits. Now I paid Sears $199 for installation and then swindled for an additional $40. I can understand the up-front price at $199, they are in business to make money. They should take the profit from their Installation Sales and use that to screen the dishonest partners they choose to work with.

When scheduling to have my dryer serviced I chose the 8am - noon service window.  Sears website says that they will call before they arrive and having not received a call at 11:55am I called their 800 number and was told they were running a little behind and the tech would arrive between 1 and 2pm.  I cancelled the appointment and will call another firm.

The tech said he would be out at a certain time and did not show at the time. He did end up showing and the issue was a broken compressor and inverter. The tech was fine in services when he was there, but no one ever called to let us know he would be late. They said it would take five to tens days to fix the issue. Then we called back and they said it was going to take even longer. So I called Whirlpool who made the fridge and they gave me the part number. They said they one in the warehouse they figured that out in 15 minutes to figure out. So I called Sears back and they can't get the part from Whirlpool and they said it was to late to get the part from there. So in the mean time all our foods have gone back and we are still waiting. Whirlpool should have been the first place they called, I don't think they wanted to pay the Whirlpool price and were looking for a cheaper option. Every time I called Sears I had to wait 45 minutes to speak with the department to find all this out.
