We have been using SLVS for almost 10 years, and love their services. Dr Whitty is kind, knowledgeable, understanding, gentle and realistic--helpful when animals are ill and decisions need to be made. Some of our animals have had surgery done, and Dr Whitty and staff did a fine job and our pets bounced back well. All the costs were explained up front so there were no financial surprises. He and his staff have been with us through the euthanasia of one pet, and the sudden death of another. They took care of the arrangements, helped us with cremation, and all the hard stuff.
This last visit, we went to their location for shots and wellness exams, but usually use the mobile services. It's fabulous to have all our animals (cats and dogs) seen at the same time, on their home turf. Much better than having to load up cats in a carrier and dogs in the car and take them somewhere! Plus they give a multi-pet discount. We are so glad they are here in Salt Lake!

Dr. Rick Whitty and his staff are absolutely amazing! They care very much about their patients (animal and human)! My kitty was very sick that day and I was scared! Dr. Whitty was very thorough yet gentile and because he has his own lab equipment right there in his office, he was able to run some very important blood tests "now" instead of sending them to a lab somewhere else. The tests were completed in minutes and we knew what was wrong with my baby! They were able to treat my kitty with the necessary medicine right then and there, as well as send me home with pre-measured pain medication to help ease his pain! A follow up visit was needed a few days later and Dr Whitty came to my home to do the examination which was much easier for both my kitty and I!

We've used Dr. Witty for our lab for approximately 5+ years. Love his demeanor, care for our pup, pet side manner, staff is exceptional. An all around A+++ experience. He is professional, honest, reasonably priced and most importantly, my dog really responds well to Dr. Witty and his staff. He is also located next door to Dogmode --if I need basic vet services performed (i.e. rabies and/or bordatella), it's very convenient to schedule the appointment with Dogmode. They will take your pet to have immunizations.
No need to go anywhere else, Dr. Witty is the best. We've been to 3 other vets over the years and are pleased with Salt Lake Veterinary Services.

I highly recommend Dr. Whitty and his staff! We have worked with Dr. Whitty for over 8 years. He is kind, courteous, efficient, and respectful. He has helped us make some tough decisions with our pets over the years, including euthanizing one of our pets several years ago. Recently, after a year long illness that Dr. Whitty helped us manage, one of our dogs died of a heart attack at home in the evening. We called the office and left a message about her death, and his staff came to the house early the next morning to pick up her body and arrange cremation. They were extremely helpful and caring during a difficult time.
Especially because we have several pets, the in-home service is convenient and so much less stressful on our pets. Also, when he see several pets on one visit, there is a multiple pet discount. His staff are professional, kind and caring with our pets. We have also taken our pets to the office location occasionally, and the office is pleasant, centrally located, with plenty of parking.
For the latest visit, he and his staff came on time (if they are running late from emergencies, they will call and keep us updated) with necessary equipment and medications in their van, and provided efficient and caring services for our pets at home.
Overall, we feel like Dr. Whitty and his staff are part of our extended family, and their services have made our lives and our pets' lives healthier and much less stressful.

I went in and saw Dr. Whitty and he's good. They come every six months. You can either go into the office or they have a mobile service that come to the house. He's an excellent doctor. He's a great guy and communicates very well. He's young, pleasant, enjoyable and even if he's not there other people that come is always great. If they're gonna be late they'll contact you.

Why oh why did I wait so long to find a vet who would come to my house? No more feline frenzy on the freeway! No more mewling at the top of little kitty lungs! Not only is this the most amazing service, but Rick is the most amazing vet i have ever used. Not only is this easier on me, but I believe it is better for the pet as well.
I have used Salt Lake Vet Services for a few years now, and I would not have it any other way. He has been sensitive to the needs of the animal, and he has kept me informed every step of the way. And when I had to finally let go of my oldest feline friend, it was such a relief to send her on in the privacy of my own home. I hope he will be caring for my pets for a long time.

The really cool thing is that the doctor actually comes to the house. The price seems to be about the same as everyone else.
