After Rick learned about what we were shopping for, he suggested we tour a few homes to find out about what we liked the best. It was obvious that he had experience in buying, fixing, owning and selling older homes of his own. He was able to point out things that we never would have seen or thought about, and warned or encouraged us accurately. Sometimes the roof looked older, or the windows were new. Structural, layout, and even the quality of (or lack of!) any remodeling done were items we could discuss to help us determine our interest in the homes we saw. During one tour, Rick even said: "So yeah, I don't think you should buy this house. It's a mess, and not priced very well either." -He was helping us, and also looking out for us!
We came across a home that looked vacant, and asked Rick to look into it. He became a detective and found that the house was in a state of disrepair, with out-of-state homeowners that were not sure what to do with it. Through months of delays, negotiations, difficult and slow communication, we were able to come to a deal with the owners to sell it to us at a fair price for both parties! Success! Through a thicket of title-related issues, delays, and random concerns, Rick stayed the course and strongly met each new barrier we encountered. From search, to find, through negotiations and problem-solving, Rick was a patient and knowledgeable expert all along the way. A true advocate for us in our home buying process and not just a salesman. Knowing well your buyer, the homes, and the market where they meet seems to be an art lost on most realtors today. Rick Price understands the process and his profession well, and I cannot recommend him enough.
