Nothing was damaged. I moved from Vista, California to Green Bay, Wisconsin, so it was a major move.

The first thing one should know about renting a POD is that their lifting system tilts the POD up and down, corner to corner, by about a foot repeatedly during the lift. That GUARANTEES that the contents will shift. Although we stuffed the container and tied ithe contents down, things shifted enough that the door was jammed upon arrival at the second location and took considerable effort and ingenuity to free up. We had to begin unloading with the door only a third raised. It didn't help that the only anchors for tie downs were a few screw eyes poorly positioned. Had we filled the container any less full, there also would have been considerable damage to the contents. As it was, despite our care, the shifting caused a gouge in one furniture item. The second problem is that the lift mechanism will totally chew up your yard. Even in placing the container by the curb, chunks of the grass between the sidewalk and street were torn out. Also, after going online to investigate options and pricing, I came away with the impression that renting a 16' container for a month and getting it to the new location would run about $300, however, when I got the final quote on the phone, the price was well over $800. On the positive side, the container was clean, delivered on time, and had a white plastic roof that left the interior light filled during daylight hours. I didn't see a 16' container available anywhere else. All the personnel I interacted with were professional and well informed and sent communications/updates regularly.

Delivered on time, and with short notice. Everything was moved to the new location without any damage. They then picked up the container on short notice and got it out of my driveway. Painless, and their website made it really easy.

I had a POD delivered to my old house approximately 3 weeks before my move. The POD was delivered exactly on time and set up in a jiffy by the driver. He left and I spent the next few weeks filling it with boxes and household items until moving day. On moving day, the driver arrived as scheduled (while a moving company was putting large items in their truck), loaded the POD onto his flat-bed, and drove it over to the new house. He set up the POD in the new driveway (leveling it nicely) and left us to unload the boxes. Two days later, he came back and took away the empty POD. Why would anyone NOT want to use a service that is so convenient and does so much to reduce the stress of moving?!

Despite a contract of Door to Door moving and storage service, PODS refused to deliver my storage container to my new address in Duvall, WA. As per the original sales agreement, PODS performs door to door pick up and delivery service to the greater Seattle region withing 24-48 hours from request. Both in March, when the account was established, as well as the actual date of them refusing to deliver my storage unit (end of August), Duvall is listed as a deliverable location on their website. I spent nearly half a day on the phone trying to sort this out with the company's customer service department, but PODS consistently refused to deliver my storage unit. They said it takes their drivers too long to deliver to Duvall, so they have dropped it. Yet, no where on their website does it disclose any such company wide decision. I was told, despite my contract, my only option was to drive to their warehouse (over 30 miles away, one way) and pick up my belongings at my own expense, or wait until mid October (which would've been two months past the time when I needed my belongings delivered) when they would approve a and quot;special exceptionand quot; delivery to my home in Duvall. I found these options totally unacceptable given both their company guarantee of local Door to Door service, as well as my current contract with them. PODS created an additional financial burden and significant logistical challenge for me by refusing service five months after we entered into a contact. Because they had my belongings locked in their warehouse, I was completely at their mercy. I had no recourse but to comply with their unreasonable demands if I wanted to ever see my belongings again. As such, I had the unexpected and unnecessary expense to rent a moving truck, drive to their warehouse, transfer my belongings to the moving truck, and drive back home only to unpack my belongings yet again. That day was about 100 total miles of driving, $80 in gas, and a $120 truck rental. All because PODS refused to honor my contract and their company motto of Door to Door service. To date, PODS still has not refunded my extra moving expenses, nor given me any refund whatsoever for their poorly rendered services.

Rented the POD to de-clutter my house prior to listing for sale. POD was delivered on time and exactly where I wanted it. Initial billing showed charges for blankets and a lock, which I had not ordered. One phone call resolved that. POD was delivered to my new location on time. Final pickup also on time. Overall: more expensive than the traditional "rent a U-Haul, move to storage unit, rent a U-Haul, move from storage unit to final destination"; but also, HALF the work! Staging your home for sale, this is the way to go.

They are punctual and are there when they say they are going to drop it off and pick it up. They were really great. They aren't rocking your stuff all over and make sure they have the right kind of trucks, the way they pull it up. They are real conscientious about the way they did things, I liked that.
