Julie is not able to log into Angie's List to get her messages, so be certain to call her directly. You won't be sorry! She was helpful right from the beginning. We did not know where to start! She told us how much fabric to get and that she would supply the padding and all the refinishing. She offered to pick up the chair or we could drop it off. We dropped it off and it was finished in no time! We had even said it was no rush, but she got right on it.
The work is impeccable. It far exceeded our expectations. And the service was so caring and kind. Her son helped me put the chair in my car, which was much appreciated, as I have some mobility issues.
This whole experience has made Angie's List worthwhile!

Julie was easy to work with, however there were issues with quality/craftsmanship. Specifically, a tear in the fabric on one of the wings, loose fabric on both wings, the tips of the seat cushion did not have any foam/batting in it and the cushion cording was sewn in such a way that the seam hit right under the knee. Julie did come out and pick up the chair a replace/fix these issues and did so overnight, but we wished she had done the job with attention to those details the first time.

I located Julie Pickering through Angie's List. She already had great reviews but I wanted to add my comments. She offers quick responses to emails and phone calls. The quote for work was never changed. She does very nice work and the shelves look very nice!  I have also just left an antiqued sewing chair to be stripped and refinished. Looking forward to that piece also.

Excellent, she got the dye and polish removed, and refinished the spot to match the rest of the door perfectly.  It took less than one day.  The only odd thing was I told her I had a coupon off of Angies List, and she stated "I'm not on Angie's List" even when I told her that is how I found her, and showed her the coupon printed off the site.  For me, 10% of $20.00 is not importent, but it could be of concern to someone who had a larger job, and was counting on being able to use the coupon...

Julie gave me a very reasonable quote and fixed my couch right in my living room.  she brought in her own dropcloth as well as tools and cleaned up afterwards (the little mess that there was)
She took our chair to her shop and delivered to us three days later.  you would never have known it was broken!
I highly recommend Julie's services and would absolutely hire her again.

They did a fabulous job, the price was extremely fair, and I will use them exclusively in the future.

Julie came to our home to inspect the furniture, gave an estimate of cost and how long it would take. She also gave us suggestions for places to purchase reasonably priced and appropriate chair/sofa coverings. Julie and her assistant to pick up the furniture on the date scheduled even though it was during a snow storm. The work was completed on schedule and we are very pleased with the work.

Julie picked up the chairs at my house, and returned them fixed the next day. The chairs needed to new dowels and to be glued. She was punctual and did a great job.

She came to my house and gave me an estimate to repair a broken arm on a love seat. She was very professional and courteous and accommodating enough to come to my house.
She estimated $70 to repair the broken wood inside the arm. The price was reasonable but I only paid $75 for the love seat and the chair combined so I was not ready to invest that money just to fix the arm.  At some point in the future, I will be ready to have the arm fixed and without a doubt, I will have her come back and fix it.

UPDATE:  I finally decided to have the broken arm fixed.  Even though a number of months had passed, Julie honored the original bid. She came to the house with a partner. They were on time and had all the supplies needed to repair the couch. They quickly and efficiently repaired the broken board inside the arm.

It was impressive to watch how expertly they were able to pull back the upholstery, repair the broken board inside the arm and then replace the upholstery without any sign it had been taken apart.

I had cut a portion of the dust cover off the bottom of the couch after my chihuahua ripped it open to hide under the couch.
They replaced the shredded dust cover for no additional cost. 

I will definitely call Julie again if/when I have any more furniture I need repaired.

the owner was great. she came and repaired our badly damaged couch on-site with her own tools within 45 minutes.  she made very little mess and also cleaned up afterwards.  she took our chair that had a partially broken frame back with her to her shop to repair it and delivered it within a few days.  i highly recommend her services. 
we're moving in a couple of months and will probably have some damaged items so i would absolutely have them come out and repair our damaged pieces!
