Mesa Moving & Storage

 This move started out promising and our confidence level was high, the crew in Salt Lake seemingly loaded our goods with care. The driver did say that he would not be driving our load to Scottsdale AZ, it would be another driver,but no mention was made of unloading it into a warehouse then back on another truck. This information was not given to us by anyone in the company, we would have made other arrangements. I asked the packers twice if the restoration hardware lamp needed special packing/care but was told the loaders would take care of it. It was loaded on the truck in perfect condition,all one piece wrapped in cotton padding. It was delivered totally taken apart with the metal hood dented in and the base scratched badly. We take pride in caring well for our items, the base on our round coffee table that was in PERFECT condition,not even one vacuam cleaner ding on it, was gouged on all four legs and the base as well. I asked the driver as he was taking apart our Henredon four poster bed if the posts needed special wraps and maybe   the finials removed so they didn't break. No, he would make sure it was taken care of. The bed arrived with one of the finials snapped off where the dowel connects it to the bed. All the hardware for assembling the bed was not in the "hardware" box. The bedrails required special custom bolts to connect the bed and two were missing. We were assured that this would be taken care of and not to worry, we would be sleeping in our own bed soon. Three days later we figured out ourselves how to get a bolt modified at Ace Hardware and put the bed together ourselves. I spoke with a "spot" quality assurance checker who happened to arrive when our truck was unloading, I spoke with an agent in Salt Lake and both were very sympathetic but NO ONE ever even called us back to see if the situation was resolved or not!

   The packers packed the wardrobe boxes 2/3 full with other misc. items from closet before hanging clothes. This defeated the whole purpose of having your hanging wardrobe arrive in good shape. A TOILET BOWL BRUSH was in the bottom of one with my good boots etc. It was placed inside a trash can with trash still in it.........a family bible that was 50 years old was upside down splayed in another wardrobe. The crew in Scottsdale and the driver also told us that our matrasses were not ever placed in the cartons that the packers had left for them in the garage. The cartons were taken from the garage and loaded on the truck, then deduction tells us that they unloaded into the warehouse, then loaded them back on another truck without putting them in the boxes or even a plastic wrapper. The boxes were in the truck empty. Our mattrases just bare, in a moving truck.....which by nature cannot be that clean. I had a protector on the expensive one so that helped .   I will be posting a follow up review on how the claims go. By the way, Mesa is governed and advertised as United Van Lines

Diego and Angie did an excellent job packing.  They worked very fast and with great efficiency.  We are still unpacking boxes but so far nothing was found damaged except for a particle board desk which we were warned about and expected.  Diego showed up the next day with an assistant and loaded the truck, an all day process.  On arrival at our new home, the crew was good with the move in.  The supervisor was meticulous and spent extra time searching to make sure every box on the inventory was accounted for.  Moving across country is expensive, but the price was at the low end of the range we were expecting.

They did an excellent job and I would definitely use them again.

United Van Lines were Very good. Starting with the Estimator (which is why I contracted with them in the first place) He came in and offered me a Binding contract or Non-binding one and made sure I understood the difference between the two. He also came prepared with a packet that goes over what you should be doing a month out, weeks out etc to get ready for so major of a move. Mesa Moving (which is the agent for United that I called) also supplied me with used moving boxes which, was really appreciated.
They were slated to pick up my stuff the day after Thanksgiving day and Noel the driver did call and ask if he could come a day before to mark my stuff. I did let him know that I did not have everything packed. He indicated that, that would be okay. He was very professional.
My only "beef" with United is that the day of the move even though I did tell the guys loading that not all my stuff was marked, the things that I did not have ready to go never got marked. As far as I can tell all my belongings made it so this was not a problem in my case but, I can see where it could have been a problem.
All in all my move went smoothly as far as I can tell all my belongings made it here with no breakage. I would use United again for sure.

We were originally going to sign with North American in SLC, but they surprised us with an estimate for close to 12,000 lbs. United showed up and estimated less than 10,000 and gave a binding estimate for $2,300 less than North American. We had a load on the smaller side, less than 10,000 lbs. I heard it actually weighed 8-9,000 lbs. Were first surprised on August 17 when one female arrived by herself to pack the large kitchen and partial garage plus laundry area. Her name was Pam and she did an excellent job efficiently packing the goods. Our only disappontment was that she said it wasn't necessary to pack an old regulator clock and that the driver would protect it with blankets. The driver was surprised it hadn't been packed and settled for wrapping it in a blanket and keeping it under his bed in the cab. The driver was Jonathon, and he was very conscientious about loading the van to protect all goods. We later met him again at our personal storage unit and he took the time to unload the van and pack the storage unit tight. He's quite keen on pleasing the customer. The only negative is that Jonathan apparently prefers to go without a meal first thing in the morning and by the time the mid afternoon arrives he's exhausted and hungry. We suggest that his employer make sure he has the proper nourishment to keep his energy levels intact. There was one small table that was demolished and we will file a damage report. We will not be opening the other boxes for several months, so will update review if more damage is discovered.

I didn't have to pay anything.  They did a good job and I would recommend them to a family or friend.  I have no complaints with them.  I give them high ratings and would use them again in the future, if needed. 

Actually they gave me an estimate of $2900 and they finished the entire job and reimbursed me over a $100. I had very good experience with them. They had extremely good communication. They kept me informed about what was going on, what their time frame was and they did the job earlier than projected. So they were very accurate, very precise and very good in communicating. They kept calling me to check up and also called me after the move to check whether everything was moved.
