I had called Larry on 5/31 and asked if he could come out and check out my sprinklers. He said he could come out I believe on Thursday the 6th at 5:30 p.m. so I hurried home from work. 5:30 came, 6, 6:30 finally around 7 p.m. I called and left a message for him asking if he was coming as I had made an appt. with him a week earlier. I understand these companies get extremely busy this time of year and they can be late, but he never called to say he was going to be late or never called at all even after I called and left a message for him to call me back. Also you never know if he was involved in an accident or if there was a family emergency. As of yet I have not heard back from him so I called someone else.

I did not get signed up on Angie's list as soon as I would have liked and Larry already had other jobs pending. I contacted him around the middle of May and he responded as soon as he was back in town from being away. After that he came out right away to give me a bid. I waited for a bid from another Company which was way to long in coming and I called and left a msg that I did want Larry to do the work. He had a crew of men here to start the work the next day. We kept in touch via email and phone msgs and by the end of the month all work had been completed. I did call him back a few times to address issues I was not satisfied with but he responded right away and made sure I was satisfied.

I contacted them for a quote and they never responded to my message.

However he could or would not set a definite time to come give an estimate and seemed very vague about the timing. He concluded the phone call by promising to 'call next week' and here it is Tuesday and I haven't heard. If I DO, I won' t use him. Doesn't seem reliable.

On the recommendation of a neighbor, I had a labourer taking out old sod, releveling and installing new sod. Under his direction of his time frame of when to do the job I ordered and paid for and had the new sod delivered. That was the only efficient event of the first contractor. After having the sod sit in my driveway for 2 days with little hope of the original contractor completing the task on time and in any sort of professional manner I started calling other contractors and called Larry early Monday morning (like 7.30am). Within 10 mins he called me back and told me he was available to do the job and would come out at lunch time. Larry said he would call first when he was close. True to his word, Larry called around lunch time and told me he was on his way. 10 mins later he was looking over the job, giving me a bid and told me he could have his crew out here by 4pm to start hauling away the old sod. Right on 4pm, a big burly member of his crew was in my front yard, hauling away old sod. Larry's crew worked till dark (about 4 hours) and had most of the old sod removed on the first day. Larry and his 5 man crew were back the next morning at 8.30am leveling, digging, removing and fixing sprinklers. Larry told me he would get my approval first on the leveling before laying the sod. Larry kept me informed at each step. I never saw Larry's crew just standing around chatting or leaning on their shovels and I was watching often because of my experience with the first contractor! They worked hard, worked professionally, worked very well and long until the sun when down. On the second and final day they were here almost 11 hours. Considering the nature of the job, the bid did increase which I expected based on other reviews and you just don't know what you will find once you start digging in someone's yard! Larry did charge more for the work to the sprinklers because we did have 2 inches of extra soil on the parking strips which just wouldn't have worked well, once the soil was removed to level with the sidewalk. We had extra sod left over and Larry and his crew pulled out a section in the back yard literally while we were standing there talking about it. Larry and his crew were always friendly, professional and easy to get on with. There was never anything he couldn't do. Asking to take out some sod at the back after the original job was done to use the new sod, he was ready and willing to do it right there and then. Larry and his crew swept up, even along the street and gutters, cleaned up and left us in awe. The results were amazing. My husband was turning on the sprinklers just as the crew were getting into their truck and two of the sprinklers were not adjusted properly. My husband waved them down and they got out of their truck and adjusted the heads before leaving. All I've wanted since living in this house for the past 7 years is flat grass and now I have it!

He was here everyday for about 10 days and had 2-4 men working at all times. Asked for one half deposit for materials, and balance on completion. Very thorough and added extras here and there for beautification of landscape. Very professional company and Larry is a hands-on very congenial person to work for us. We are having him back later to handle sprinklers and give us an estimate of additional sprinklers in garden area.

Larry is a good person to work with and is a very good communicator; whenever I sent an email or called, he responded quickly. I was very pleased with the communication I had with him, and I also thought the work they did was very professional. I've had no problems with his work and the fencing is still doing fine.

Larry is very professional and his employees are hard workers. After the job was completed, Larry placed sod in areas where the grass had been worn out due to the tracks made by the heavy equipment used to move the dirt and rock. When the workers had nearly completed the deck, I saw that it was not quite to what I had expected. I told Larry what I wanted to change. This ended up being more work and some new wood had to be cut, but they did it without complaint or increasing the price. I have some more work needing to be done in my yard and Larry would be someone that I would look for to do the work.

Tried to Contact Larry's Twice, first time and quot;phone was out of serviceand quot;, next time left Voice mail and never received a call back.

Larry got back to me regarding a price quote within 1 day of my leaving him a message. We set up an appointment and I had a good feeling about him on the spot. He is very honest, nice and personable. We agreed on a start date and he and his crew were at our house very early and left late. I was amazed at how short of a time it took to finish the project. Very good!

The initial quote was $2100.00 but after hearing that I wanted small red rock and a nice big tree, the quote went up to $3400.00. The workers that came did an excellent job of digging up the lawn and removing some nasty vines and bushes. They also did a good job of laying down weed barrier. Larry and I had spoken about the kind of tree I wanted (a Capital Pear) because I saw a nice one at a local nursery that was about 15 feet tall with leaves that were turning a pretty red color. He said he could get me a nice sized one for $200.00. The next time he talked about the tree he said the nursery was sold out of that tree but assured me that he would find me a nice one. The one he showed up with was 8 ft. tall and it is a pear tree but the leaves are not turning color and the tree is so small that my guess is that it didn't cost more that $50.00, if that much. Larry then informed me that I couldn't afford the rock I had picked out. I ended up picking out a rock that was cheaper and not as pretty. The experience started out with a lot of excitement on my part and ended with a feeling of disappointment because of the tree and rock but satisfaction that it was finished. I'm adjusting to the rock color but it's harder to adjust to the tree, not just because of it's size but the fact that the leaves are not turning red, or orange or yellow. I think they are going to stay green until they fall off.

I called to get an estimate to clean up the yard, which was done quickly. Then I asked for an estimate to mulch the very large garden beds in the front. This was done quickly, but the material used looks really poor. I did not follow up afterwards, as I am across the country.

I used the the previous year to do a similar job. It went well. They did exactly what they said they were going to do and it looks great. The clean up was excellent. It was very professional. I would probably use them again. I have recommended them to our next door neighbors.

I visited Larry's Lawn and Services website after reading the good reviews on Angie's List. I called the number provided on website and informed them I would like to get an estimate for approximately 40' of cedar fencing. I was surprsed when they agreed to come and look at the work the same day, and within an hour of calling. I left work early to meet the contractor to get and estimate around 10am. We agreed verbally to meet at 10:30am and they would call me if there were issues (they were already near my neighborhood on another project). So I left work early and took vacation to meet the contractor. The contractor never showed up or called me back. I wasted 3 hours of my vacation for an estimate I never recieved. Time is money, and this contractor wasted both of mine.

Larry's Lawn Service rep was professional and on time. There was no service to provide so he was helpful in that. He was knowledgeable.

,Larry was very responsive when I called and asked for a bid. In fact, I think he came out the same day or a day later. He also gave me a complete, detailed bid within 5 days.My backyard has been a mess for about 3 years. The sprinklers no longer worked and there was only dirt and weeds. Within 10 days, it was transformed into an oasis. We love it!!Larry and his crew were friendly, professional and hard-working. Larry cheerfully accommodated every request I made. They put in a couple chain-link gates, an awesome raised garden box and a pathway. They even fixed some issues with my front sprinkler that I didn't even request. I couldn't be happier with how the whole process went.

I received several bids on a fence prior to contacting Larry's Lawn and Services, located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Larry's Lawn and Services communicated with me by email at first, then the owner of the company came to my home as promise to take measurements. The same day I was emailed the complete cost. Larry's Lawn started and completed the project on the on the promised dates. Larry's Lawn went as far as to replace or relocate sprinklers that were in the path of the fence. Larry's Lawn and Services also builded an outstanding deck for me. Overall Larry's Lawn and Services did a great job on all my projects, so I rate them an "A"

I called a number of different people to get qoutes. Larry was one of the few to call me back. He was very friendly and flexible when he came out to give me a qoute. His was the best by far, and based on Angie's List reviews and his professionalism, I decided to go with him. HIs crew started work soon, and completed the entire project in about a week. Him and his crew did a great job improving and fixing the sprinkler system, and did a great job installing my new concrete patio. They prepped the site, hauled away a old basketball hoop and old concrete. They poured the concrete on a Saturday, and covered it so it wouldn't get rained on. The only problem was that we had really bad wind that night, and it dragged the tarps over the concrete which created some imperfections, but that's not Larry's fault. He can't control the wind. Overall, the job was done very well, and we are very happy with the experience. We will definitely use him and his crew for future projects.

They were a little cheaper in price compared to the company we decided to go with. I gave them a call and half an hour later I got a call from them with the bid process. We talked through and he worked on the bid in 2 hours. Between the initial phone call and the time I got the bid was only about 3 hours at the most. They were very quick and I was pretty impressed with their prompt service. We were in a rush and I worked on it through the summer and I needed some professional help to complete things and I wanted it done before the snow fell. I was rushing through vendors in getting quotes back to me. They were very prompt. I needed help with laying the sprinkler design plan and laying the pipes out. Their price was great and their responsiveness was excellent. The only reason I went with the other company was because I also needed some turf and they gave me a sizable discount based on the sprinkler system. The whole package price with the other company was better because they also offered grass. They also offered installation service and the price was great. The final package they gave me a better deal. Their price was competitive. It was not the cheapest that I had got but it was right in the middle. I didn't have a problem at all. Their responsiveness was excellent. As far as their responsiveness as answering my phone calls and getting back to me, they were punctual. If I called and if somebody was not available to take my phone call then I would have somebody call me back within half an hour to discuss the bid. They were very professional. They were very courteous and upfront. I never had any problem at all.

I was pleased with the timeliness and quality of the work. Larry is a very friendly person to work with and his crew were nice as well. His estimate was reasonable and the work was done in two days. Granted this was fall so during a busier season you might not get this kind of prompt attention. I was totally satisfied and would hire again and recommend to others.

Our initial experience was positive. They worked hard and did the work as promised. But three weeks after the hydroseed was sprayed, there were only patches of grass here and there. We called Larry to discuss this, and he said he had driven by and noticed the grass wasn't growing. So he arranged to have the yards sprayed again. They came just a couple of days later and sprayed as promised. A week after that, I noticed that the ground was extremely hard; which was strange since it was supposed to be watered four times a day. I checked the sprinkler settings, and it was set to water four times on Monday and that was it! He had set our sprinkling system incorrectly, which probably accounted for the non-thriving grass. I fixed that and the grass started to grow about three weeks later. However, half of our backyard looks like the whole yard looked the first time the seed was sprayed. I called Larry last week to have him come reseed just that portion, and he said he would come out to have a look. We have not seen him. Larry was good to work with and very responsive initially. However, we are not happy with 1/3 of the job that he did. The only thing I would have changed is I would have withheld a portion of the payment until I knew the work was fully done as promised. I hate to give him a bad rating, but we would like him to come finish the job.

I think I spent about $12,000 on the job. He did a great job for me. However, things went missing. For example, a part of the fence was missing, the shovel was missing. I never got them back. I had to keep replacing these things as I was in a rental home. I was not too happy about the things disappearing. He finished the work in the late fall last year. During spring, I noticed that one of the sprinkler pipes that had to be reconnected was not reconnected and so, I could not turn the water on. I called him and asked him to come out. He assured me that he would be out in a couple of days. He never came back. I called him a couple of times after that. I never got a response from him. I am really disappointed with that as well because I had paid him a lot of money to make sure that the sprinkler system and the drainage around the house was correct. I was having a lot of problem with water getting into the house. So, I had him dig around the foundation. He discovered that went the house was built the coating and the plastic around the foundation were not put in. So, the water would go down into the basement. I also had mold problems a couple of times. I had him fix one portion of the house. At that time, I did not realize that the problem pervaded around the house. So, I had him dig out all the way around the foundation the second time. He put down the plastic and the coating on the foundation. It was really expensive because it had to be hand dug. I have not had any water seepage since then. So, I think he must have done a good job. However, I am just disappointed that I did not get a response from him concerning the sprinkler pipe. I have mixed feelings about him because he did fix the problem, but I could not get him to come back. I was really prompt about paying him. I do not why I never heard back from him. He did a good job of cleaning up, though. He was punctual almost everytime. He seemed quite professional until he became unresponsive. His prices were more than the other companies, but he did get the job done. I will not use this company again in the future even though they helped me fix the problem.

He was not on time. He fixed the job appointment and then came late in the afternoon. I was not too impressed. I would not use the services of Larry's Lawn and Services in the future.

Overall he was very good. Larry sowed up to collect the check after his crew did the valve replacements. He made sure I had all my questions answered and replaced a few sprinkler heads for no extra charge.
