My roof was 19 years old but was deteriorating. This was probably due to the fact it was roofed over the previous shingles which were now 34 years old. I was hoping to get another year or two before a complete replacement, but I had a leak in the garage. I talked to Phil at Horizons and got an estimate for a complete re-roof and then contacted him back for just the leak repair. I sent photos and he sent a repair contract for $495 which I signed on Aug. 20, 2017. An employee from Horizon came on September 1, 2017, to repair the roof. He brought his dog and mountain bike and said he was on his way to Montana for a trip. While the dog was tied in my front yard, he began working. He asked me if I had shingles. I went into the attic of the garage and found some 19-year-old shingles from the previous roof job. He spent about 3 hours removing the old shingles and repairing some plywood and using the shingles I provided. He caulked some around the area. Not long after the repair, there was a moderate rainstorm. This was a good test for the repair. Unfortunately, the leak was worse than it was before the repair. I contacted Phil with the news and more photos. He said he was surprised and suggested that the leak was caused by overflowing rain gutters - which was not the case. The same Horizon employee came by again. He had his dog again and a friend with him and said he was on his way to an event. He was not in a good mood. I had a hose on the roof so we could do a water test to try to isolate where the water was coming in. He didn't like that idea and we didn't do any water testing. He said the roof needed to be replaced because the water could be leaking in from anywhere. Then he slapped down a bunch of caulking between some of the shingles. Then he said he only bought one tube of caulk and asked if I had caulk. So, I went into the garage and found a tube of caulk. He continued to caulk. He spent about 20 minutes or so and left. The next day, I went up to do a water test by running water over the section. The leak was just as bad inside the garage. I contacted Phil again and he emailed back that he was out of town and we can address it again when he returned. I decided at that point, to look at other options. The three stars reflect the communications I had with Phil and their attempts at repair. The deduction of two stars reflects a rather negative experience with the repair employee, having to provide the shingles and the caulking for the repair, and having to pay $495 for a leak repair that was never actually repaired. In fairness, I'm sure Phil WOULD HAVE continued to try to repair the leak if I would have kept insisting. But after the second failure and after I talked to him when he was out of town, I didn't call or email him back and he never contacted me again even though he knew the leak was not repaired. I figured they were hoping I'd just go away - which I did.

Great! Phil came out right away to look at the problem, gave us a very reasonable estimate, and performed the work a couple of days later. He repaired all leaks and did a full roof maintenance, sealing all pipes, vents and chimneys, and he worked with my husband to test the seals with a hose, to make sure everything worked. Although we hope not to need to, we would hire Phil back in a heartbeat!

Inspected the roof said it had 5 years of life and recommended we replace the rubber boots around the vents. Did the job and I will contact him when the roof needs to be replaced..

Phil came to do the roof sealing service that he offers. The first time didn't work so I called him and he came back. He took another stab at it and it still didn't work so I called again. When he came back the third time, his guys pulled the shingles off to reveal a colony of carpenter ants!!! Needless to say that some wood had to be replaced along with shingles. The guys even said they would replace an old skylight if I got them a new one as a replacement. After a trip to Home Depot and a few hours, I hd a shiny new roof with an updated skylight. I hope I never need them again, but if I do, I won't hesitate to call Horizon's Roofing!

It went very well. They had to struggle with the weather but worked when they could to get it done. They were very easy and friendly to talk with, I actually missed them when they finished. They were very dependable and worked so hard my friends noticed. They used the team approach and worked very well as a team. They left me with a very good product. They were affordable worked with me on price and out of the 5 roofing contractors they gave me the biggest bang for my buck. They were very respectable to me that even know I am a women they treated me with respect they didn't belittle me ingards to my knowledge of the product, instead they went to great lenghts to further educate me on the knowledge of the product.

The quality of the job was very good to excellent. The price was a bit higher than other quotes but fair for the quality and attention to detail they provided. I would have given them been a A grade overall but they were very slow in getting the job done until a new foreman came on the job. Then once he was on the job things were done quickly with good concern about my satisfaction.

Horizon gave a great, competitive bid They arrived exactly when they said they would, walking me through the scheduling process from beginning to end But, but, but - the clean up, guys, the clean up - they did such an incredible job!! We spent the weekend following our roof replacement in the yard and did not find a single nail. That is incredibly impressive from a roofing company. The roof looks fantastic and we recommend Horizons highly

They did a pretty good job. I hope it holds up. They did an ok job. They were pretty responsive. 

They only thing I found out, I could of had a tax deduction if I would of used a different type of roofing. I had no idea that even existed. 

So far, so good. His prices were really good. They cleaned it up really nice.

Phil with Horizons Roofing is awesome!! When we had a rare January thaw I got a small leak in my kitchen ceiling. I called Horizon's roofing and Phil came to inspect that same day. He came back the next day to seal up what he could but since there was still 6" of snow on most of the roof he came back a 3rd time to inspect all the vents and openings and finish sealing. He came back to finish on a Sunday because another snowstorm was coming on Monday. I would highly recommend Phil and Horizon's Roofing and will use them on any future projects. THANK YOU PHIL!!

While I was being stood up by two other supposed reliable roofing companies I called Phil. He answered the phone, made an appointment for the next day and came over promptly. He inspected the roof and his assessment which differed a bit from the other company seemed reliable and informed by experience. I received an estimate the next day and he gave me a time frame for when he could come over and do the work. His communication was great, he came as scheduled and did a great job completing the work. Unlike other companies who may try and get you to do more major roof repair or replacement in the short run, he took a more long term customer relationship (and referral) view and wasn't going to try and sell me something I didn't need. I would definitely hire him again.

The price was very fair for what was done. He was very thorough at cleaning up afterwards. I would highly recommend him, as he was highly recommended to me by a friend. He produced good results on much bigger jobs than mine as well.

My experience with them was good in the beginning, but it got a little rougher. I actually had him price this whole apartment renovation, and I had a hard time getting number out of him. I finally determined that it was just a little bit more work that I needed to put in, so i went looking for someone else. I could not get a full price out of them, and it took them a long time to come back and finish the original project.

The service turned out great. He recommended some repairs that would give us more time on the roof before we had to replace it.

Both jobs were perfect and better than I hoped. The door jam looked original and worked perfectly, and the shower has worked just fine as well. He was very personable and provided a quote for both projects and while I trusted him all along, I kept waiting for the price to increase, but it never did, very fair. I realize now that his concern is sincere and he is a good person and great contractor who listens and responds to what he has heard. He also left the place spotless on the night after the first day of work, and finished on the second. I highly recommend this company without any reservation.
