We got several quotes before choosing someone to do a tub to shower conversion in my mom condo. Friendly was about the mid-range in pricing, but they promised a 2-day job. The options that were $1000-$2000 cheaper would have her bathroom ripped up for 5-6 days. She definitely did NOT want that. Due to a severe lack of communication within the company, the job took 14 days to complete. The first techs to come on day 1 did less than half the job and never showed up on day 2. The salesman tried to pick up the slack and came out to try to finish the job. On day 3 he had a medical emergency. The guys who came on day 4 did not level the sides of the shower so the doors hung crooked. After repeatedly emailing customer service about the delays, I got a response that said they sent my messages to the manager and would get back to us next week as they would be closed for the Labor Day holiday. We called the salesman on Tuesday (Day 8) and found out he would never even scheduled the person to do the sheetrock around her new shower. At this point, I called a manager. Between my mother and I, we had called or emailed several times with no response or answers. He had been out of the office and was just getting our messages. He was trying to find someone to come and finish the job, but? you have to understand, the construction industry is very busy right now.? Day 9 was spent begging for updates. Day 10 Phil - the supervisor (who had also been out of the office) - was back and came to the condo to work on it himself. He explained everything that had gone wrong, apologized for the miscommunications and lack of communication, and told us how he was going to fix mistakes and finish the job. We just had to wait through another weekend for the sheetrock/drywall/painting process. Day 14 of an arduous and frustrating 2-day project, Phil made things right and my mom is now happy with her new shower. I can recommend Friendly as long as you make sure to speak to a supervisor (not a salesperson or a manager) with ANY questions or concerns.

The technician who came out was very good at explaining things in simple terms and concepts so I learned what the problem was and ways to prevent it the future. Really good price, even though using HomeAdvisor adds a surcharge for the referral service to their prices. Will definitely be using them in the future.

Worst experience I have had, need an option for negative stars. They showed up Wednesday morning to bid the job. The salesman Skyler was very good at his job. He said they could install it same day. We did the financing and the installers were there by 12:30pm. The technician told me he couldn't do the cold air returns in the basement in the walls. He wanted to install one in the ceiling of my master bath which I refused. I asked if a permit had been pulled and he said he was sure they had. He installed the A/C and started on the furnace but didn't have it working and left at 9pm. It was 46 degrees that night. The next morning I called the sales man and complained so he said they were sending a more experienced installer. 4 technicians showed up at 9am. They again said they couldn't do the cold air returns in the walls again. They ended up ripping out the whole furnace, line set, and wiring then reinstalling everything. They got it up and tested the heat and cooling once and then left at 5pm. The A/C ran all night and never met the set point (72 degrees). In the morning I raised the thermostat up so the a/c would shut off and it immediately started getting hot in my house. The thermostat was not calling for heat but the furnace was on and lit. I moved the thermostat down and the A/C came on but the furnace never stopped burning. It had run all night with the flame bar and the A/C both running. I shut it off and called them again having to leave a message. In the message I mentioned I didn't believe they had pulled a permit so I would be calling the planning office when they open. I called the planning commission and left a message. Skylar called me back saying that the permit had been pulled and they were sending someone out. The planning office called me back and said they had just asked for the permit on the 2 days after the install started. They came out about 2:30pm finished the heat runs and found they had wired the humidifier wrong but didn't have the part to make it right. They had to come back on Monday to install the part to get everything working correctly. Nothing is plumb or level on anything they installed. The inspector came on Tuesday and failed the inspection. So they need to come back and fix the minor then the inspector will need to come back. My time is obviously of no importance to them. While filling out my rebate paperwork I noticed a discrepancy. Their invoice shows a part number for a 3 ton compressor but the certificate is for a 2.5 ton compressor. My house is 1900sqft. It doesn't matter what calculator you use 1900sqft = 3 ton. Now they claim I asked for a 2.5ton which I did not. I saw 3 ton on the bid and the invoice but that is not what I have.

The technicians who first came out were knowledgeable, friendly, and clear with their explanations. We decided to replace both the furnace and A/C, around 11 AM. Four installers and two trucks showed up quite quickly and the work was completed by 4 PM. We elected not to get a second quote so I can't speak to the value for the money, but we did decide to upgrade and add allergy features so it was definitely not the cheapest choice we could have made.

They set up an appointment the same day I called. The service representative, Jak was on time. He was efficient, polite, and quickly solved my problem. There was no high pressure. Didn't suggest to do things I didn't need. Will definitely use them again.

I have always been told a service company is only as good as the technician that comes to work. But the quality of employees a company hires makes a difference. I found that true for Friendly plumbing. Tex was my technician and he knew how to diagnose and fix the problem. He also communicated well and instructed on what caused the problem and the plan to action. He could have replaced some hardware and charged me excessively but instead he did the hard work and fixed the problem.
