I found Tim at Cottonwood Custom and he was able to get to the project quickly and re-build both posts/pillars with new footings. He was responsive and professional and I would recommend them.

Work was done efficiently and in a timely manor

Four guys worked about four hours so I could prime & paint. They worked hard, stayed into the evening to get the job done. Well worth the cost--they sanded about 225 s.f. using a variety of heavy- and light-duty tools. Would heartily recommend this company.

Excellent work They came on the day that was scheduled and completed the work in two days. Very professional and did a great job.

I was very pleased by the entire process. I spoke with Tim mid-April and he gave me an estimate over the phone of $1000-$1200. When they came to do the work, we agreed a few boards needed replaced and the deck needed braced. It was an all day job and the workers: Nate & Dave were awesome. Later an entire crew came to stain and paint. There are a couple of spots that you could see were missed after it dried, which is why I rated the quality as a B.

They came back to touch things up and did a nice job as always, but the cracking in the boards is irreversible. It could have been avoided by doing several coats initially or using a superior product which I requested several times but was told that this was the best product and one coat was sufficient...and it obviously was not. While I really like the workers and feel they do an excellent job, I expected them as the experts to coat and adequately protect my deck and it took several weeks for them to respond to my concerns and then make it back to do the pretreatment. I did not expect to sand and stain my deck twice within only 6 months of each other.

The project went very well. Tim is very professional and responsive through the whole process. The crew found a problem with my stucco and the project had to be suspended for a week. Tim and I kept a close communication on the stucco project. I will definitely recommend him to others.

His workmanship was outstanding, my communication with him was facile and good and his men cleaned up after the project was finished. The decks look amazing. The price went up slightly, since he had to replace more floor boards than expected due to weathering. This was not obvious until he removed all the old outdoor carpeting. I so appreciate his creativity in boxing in the deck and adding solar lights to the posts. Tim was easy and enjoyable to work with and I highly recommend him. He is professional in all regards!!!

Great job!  Id like to say its like when it was new, but I haven't been in the home that long.  All I know is the last owner tried just painting over and over. instead of doing it right.  Cottonwood Custom did it right.  All communications with Tim were friendly and professional.  Tim came in with his company and sanded the deck down to the original wood, and then sealed it with a stain.  He fixed up any loose boards that I'm sure the mailman appreciates.  Tim couldn't match the paint that was on there but he picked a great stain color that complements the paint.  It just rained and I'm happy to see the rain beading on the nicely sealed wood.  Cheers to you Tim and your restorers!

They were on time, on budget and their craftsmanship, expertise, and professionalism exceeded my expectations. Our 20 year old deck looked awful with some rotting wood and peeling paint. We thought we would have to replace it. After sanding and staining our 20 year old deck the wood grain looked absolutely gorgeous. They took the time to stain all the horizontal surfaces and paint the vertical and helped me see some samples on my own wood before doing the whole deck which was important because the first color we picked ended up looking awful so we were able to switch to find the perfect stain/paint for our home. The extended walkway they built was gorgeous. They did not cut corners in their craftsmanship and the gate they built matched the other perfectly. Their pricing was competitive and they gave me an Angies List customer discount. I whole heartedly recommend them!

These guys did a great job. They showed up on time and worked hard, efficiently and with professionalism. At first I was a little concerned with the responsiveness, but Tim always did get back to me and they are very busy and with the work they do. I can see why.
They showed up when they said and finished the project in a day! I have a little less than a 400 Sq ft deck with stairs and railing. I am replacing the railing myself, so they added in the stairs instead, no extra charge. I had a specific type and brand of stain I wanted to use, they supplied it and applied it, no extra charge, I had a little area to be repaired, they did it, no extra charge.
Again, Fast, efficient, great work/result and no hassle, (and happy).
I would use these guys again in a heartbeat, and I fully recommend them.

Tim of Cottonwood Custom wood restoration was pleasant and professional to talk with.  The work was scheduled for September, but he had an opening in August and called me and was on the job the next day.  So, the work was done ahead of schedule.  I felt that the price was very reasonable, given the amount of work needed (the sanding especially).  I spoke with Tim a few times on the phone and he did all the rest!  The result was a beautiful, natural looking redwood deck.
In my experience, Tim is a professional business man and expert wood restorer.  I plan to utilize his services in the future.

The owner, Tim Normand, was very professional in his dealings with me. We set a firm date for the work, and he and his crew

showed up at my door right on time. The job took two days and consisted of sanding and repainting the deck, as well as

replacing several boards which were rotten. I was not charged for several  additional boards that also had to be replaced, that

were not in the original proposal.

I am very happy with the results and would have no hesitation whatsoever to recommend Tim and his company. He deserves an

A+ as far as I'm concerned.

These guys are amazing.  Excellent quality of work.  The professionalism is above and beyond.  I am major impressed with the end result, and more pleased than I was actually expecting to be.  They went out of their way for even minor repairs and details to surrounding fixtures such as a bench on the hot-tub, repairing lattice work etc.   I would strongly recommend these guys to anyone who is looking for any sort of deck restoration.

Pre-paid via Angies list which was pretty close to the actual amount.  275.00 more.   A bit pricey compared to handyman type contractors but not for deck specialist.  I was interested in getting it done well, and was not disappointed.  Contacted Tim and left message which was retruned quickly.  He was out of town the following week so the initial estimate was a longer than usual coming but to be fair, I was calling for a deck refinish early April.  He initially set up the refinish for mid-May when he had his team back for the season, but called to do it earlier which was great.  They did the job complete with sanding and restaining within two days.  They left no mess behind.  Tim was responsive, considerate, and very easy to work with.  Will definitely call him back when it's time for another layer of stain.
