As well as possible. To be honest, she was so healthy in every other way. She was on a diet for arthritis that had her barely with a limp. They even recommended the diet as opposed to much more expensive options. I didn't care. I wanted her as comfortable as possible. She was on a pain med and the diet, and barely had a limp, mainly in her front leg, despite the well documented issue with hips in Golden Retrievers. Not my girl, thank heavens. I have had nothing but great service, as well as having a generous payment plan for the final bill. They will be the Veterinarian service for my new Golden pup, Pride. I have included a picture of her when she turned 12. The other, her last night. She was positively glowing! She slept the whole night in bed with me. The first time in many years. Prior to that, it was stay until I was asleep, then right on the floor next to my bed. Kinda hard to step over, but a warmer foot rug there never was. The next day, her last, required her to stay overnight for tests that needed to be run. No one expected her to pass, but some small "growths" had been detected. The picture taken was when we brought her home after a completely unknown bout of nausea hit her around 5. We took her in, they treated the nausea, which is why she was so peaceful, and we had a great night. I took her in around 2:00 pm. Couldn't stand her not being home and went back at 5:00. Her leg was all bandaged from tube for IV that was in. She was in a very large cage that gave her plenty of room to move around and even walk around. Even so, I asked, and they moved her to a large area with a boundary like a kindergarten area. She put her great head in my lap, and stayed like that for about 45 minutes. Then, she gave a big sigh, groan-time for sleep. So I said goodbye. The next morning, at 7:45 the doctor called with the sad news. In her entire life, the most uncomfortable she had ever been was the 45 minute bout of nausea that was relieved immediately. The pictures of a 12 year and 5 month old Golden Retriever speaks for itself. Thanks in no small part to the expert care she received at Brickyard Animal Hospital.

It is very good. We call and they get us right in.They also have pets that have been there for years and they also have to deal with them. The prices are reasonable.

Short version: They made an appointment for us, then when we got there our doctor didn't even work that day. Then they pulled my cats teeth during a dental without asking if we wanted to do that. They also didn't give any pain medication to him.
My cat stopped eating his hard food, so we took him in to see what was wrong. It turned out he had an infection in his gums, so he was put on antibiotics. We scheduled a follow up appointment for the next week. When we arrived for the follow up, our doctor wasn't there nor was he even scheduled to work that day. Why did they tell us to come in that day, then? I'll never know. So they said they could reschedule us or we could see another doctor. Well, packing up our cat is not the most convenient thing to do, so we decided to see another doctor at that time. The new doctor put him on more medications and an oral rinse. The vet explained that these new meds really should work, but occasionally, some cats will require a dental, and if that doesn't work, they may have to extract the problem tooth. Ok... go home, a couple weeks later, the poor cat is still not better, so we schedule the dental. We dropped him off in the morning and got a call that afternoon that all went well and he was ready to be picked up. Great! We get there and find out that they decided to pull out two of his molars. They never called us to ask if we wanted to do that - they just did it. And it added $200 to the bill. Also, they gave him some morphine as he was waking up, but no other pain meds to take home. He was in an immense amount of pain that night (hiding and not wanting to be touched), so I ended up taking him into AVC (pet ER) that night to make sure everything was okay and they gave him pain medication to last a few days. AVC also explained that tooth extractions are very painful, and as they explained it, and quot;Certain doctors are more aggressive with pain management.and quot;
I'm not ok with them doing dramatic things to my cat (like extractions) without notifying me first. And I'm REALLY not ok with their and quot;aggressiveand quot; pain management policy. Also, as a side note, their hourly rate is HIGHER than AVC! You'd think the ER would be more expensive, but nope, Brickyard is.

They are wonderful. I always go to them. Dr. Sharp and the other physicians there are very caring and they will see me at the drop of a hat. They are not an emergency hospital so they will usually refer me out. They will handle any other service if they can. They are very good. I will absolutely continue to see them. I've been seeing Dr. Sharp for so long that I am comfortable recommending him to anyone.
