"Thank you for your review, [Member Name Removed]! We are glad to hear you had a positive experience and hope that it continues to serve you well throughout the upcoming winter weather!"
"[Member name removed], thank you. It was a pleasure doing business with you!"
Stewart Gates was so easy to work with during the bidding process and then throughout the project. We trust him, which is saying a lot - we are very cautious about contractors. His bid was straight forward and easy to understand. The crew foreman, Omar, was also a pleasure to work with.
The job took two weeks instead of one week, due to a snow storm. But as soon as there was enough melting, they were back here to finish up. The roof looks great.
Two problems occurred during installation.
1. The subcontractor that they used to install the soffit didn't install large-enough holes into the overhang, in our opinion. We told Brady Roofing about it, and they sent the subcontractor right back out to fix it and make it right.
2. As soon as they finished, we noticed that water was entering into our basement. This was due to cracks in the foundation, which is very likely not a new problem. But in a way, this was a new problem. The water was entering the cracks because of the new location of a new gutter downspout. We called Brady, and they came by that afternoon. They installed a drain pipe and copper catchment basin under the downspout. All in one day. Problem solved!
"(removed member name), We are very happy you are pleased. While it is unfortunate you have had unsatisfactory experiences in the past, we are glad we could turn this one into a positive for you. Thank you for being a pleasure to work with!"
The job was delayed a week due to inclement weather but was then moved up to the end of the originally scheduled week after a cancellation.
The tear-off of the old tar and gravel went smoothly, however, the old tar, tar paper, and gravel was shoveled from the roof into a trailer located next to a fireplace wood pile. A lot of gravel ended up in the wood pile and was difficult to clean up without moving the wood so a lot of gravel was left. The one recommended change I have for a job like this is to cover the wood pile with a tarp to catch the gravel and keep it out of the wood pile.
Once the tar and gravel was removed new roof decking was needed to replace some decking that was in poor condition. The contractor expected this and had the new roof decking ready to go at the site.
New drip edge, TPO membrane, membrane underlayment, and snow fences were installed on the split level roof. The membrane installation is high quality, there are no bubbles or creases in the membrane, and all the seams are straight and well sealed. There have been several heavy rainstorms at the location and there have been no leaks.
One vent fan rain cap was damaged during the job and it was replaced with no questions.
Brady roofing did a quality job at a fair price. Stewart was the company rep and he was knowledgeable on the roof design and the common problems that would be found. He planned contingencies for the common problems and there were no delays to the job. It was a little difficult communicating with the people doing the work but I was able to get all questions I had answered. As mentioned before, we had a lot of gravel dropped in a wood pile. If you have a roof replaced, discuss with the contractor how they can minimize dropping old roof material on the ground between the structure and the demolition material trailer/truck.
"Thank you! As the owner of Brady Roofing, I feel great hearing you say we treated you like family because that is what we have kept in mind during our company's growth over the years. And thank you for giving us the opportunity to work with you."
Overall a great experience.
"[member name removed], thank you very much for taking the time to write this review. It certainly was a pleasure working with you."
I think everyone getting a new roof is nervous about rain, and we were no exception. We had put blown-in insulation into large bags, and feared rain hitting them, getting it wet, and so all our hard work bagging it up would have been for naught. It was also (unintended) a test of Brady's crew. The day the roof was removed, it snowed. But none of our insulation got wet, it appeared that they sealed it as they went. We would hire them again.
"[member name removed], I am very happy to hear that you are satisfied with your new roof and ventilation system. Thank you for your detailed and positive review. We enjoyed working with you."
Dymon Brady came over and fixed it.
Professional, on time, and fair.
Will do business with again.
We knew we would most likely have to spend several thousands of dollars, and were we scared after several experiences in the past with various incompetant contractors in different trades!! Why did we go with Brady? They gave us addresses of some jobs they'd done in the recent past...houses with similar roofs near our neighborhood and we looked them over, even knocking on doors to ask the owner's opinion of Brady's work. Brady's bid for our house wasn't the most expensive or the least expensive and we knew virtually nothing about them before we started to check out his work. But with what his previous customers had to say about him and how their roofs looked, we decided to go with the Brady bid for our new roof.
Then it was time for us to decide what design features we wanted and which type of roofing material. Brady Roofing couldn't have been more informative or helpful again, even opening up their closed warehouse on an off-season Saturday morning just for us to look at various colors of shingles. By the time we signed our contract we were totally confidant in our ability to make an intelligent and informed decision.
Then came the scheduling of the actual job. Due to the pre-season date of our contract, and the fickle nature of Salt Lake City Spring weather at that time of the year, we were happy to have to wait through several tentative start dates until Brady Roofing felt confidant that the weather forecast would give them the time they needed to tear off our old roof and get the new job completed to at least the point where the house would be waterproof in the event the next rain storm came along before the job was totally done. I believe there are some contractors who wouldn't care if it rained in the middle of the job as long as they had a signed contract. But Brady Roofing took as much care to be certain of a thorough rain-free job as if it was their own house.
Then came the actual job. The job never did get the slightest bit of rain on it and Omar and his crew of residential shingle roofers were excellent, polite company, as well as incredibly fast and careful workers. And I had a house with a beautiful new roof and gutter/ downspout system in only (if I remember correctly) 4 or 5 days!
Yeah, yeah, I know that this review is so glowingly positive as to make anyone suspious, so I'll tell you that, in the weeks after the job was totally completed, I did find a couple or roofing nails lying in my lawn. But to my way of thinking, that's a small price to pay for the my confidance in a fairly priced job of excellent quality which I won't have to give a second thought to for years and years.
