The doctor ordered antibiotics because the cytology exam showed a possible infection. We kept him on the antibiotics until he passed away.
We left town for a long planned trip for a month soon after that visit and took my dog with us. He died 1 1/2 weeks into the trip. The vet we saw when he died felt sure he had a pituitary tumor. He had developed neurological symptom by the time he died. We were very sad.
I feel that Dr. Ponse did all she could. His symptom were less when he saw her and I don't remember her considering that diagnosis.
Avenue pets have taken care of our pets for the last 12 years and do a good job.

Dr. Ponce was very knowledgable and was very good with my dog. She answered all the questions I had. The staff helped me figure out ways to reduce the cost of the neuter (as I am a college student and don't have a ton of money to spare) and were very caring to my dog. The total cost came to about $250, even though I could have opted out of some additional services to decrease the price. My dog was well taken care of and the vet assistants could tell me about how he had been behaving that day - very reassuring to know that people were continuously checking up on him and not just leaving him alone in a crate. A week later my dog ripped one of his stitches out and the clinic got me in to see the vet that day to get the appropriate treatment. Will definitely go there again if I ever need veterinary services.

Dr. Brenda Ponce, is knowledgeable, very caring, and doesn't order unnecessary tests. Will consult with specialists over the phone or in person. She has also waived certain fees for procedures, perhaps because I have been a long time customer. For example, I had to travel a lot for my job at one point. I was traveling with my cat, which needed a health certificate for travel, which included an exam. She did not charge me for this exam, she only charged for the cost of the certificate.

She's just a very caring doctor, and she has a very good staff as well.

Dr. Ponce did not explain that she was giving my dog an anti psychotic to induce sleep on the airplane. I looked up the medication before I gave it to my dog, and I was appalled that a veterinarian would prescribe such a medication for sleep!!!

I would recommend them to others.

Avenues has been good and I would go back to them for services. They seem to care about the pet and they give us good service. I am not sure how their prices compare with other vets in the area. But their quality is good, which is why we keep going back. We have never had to wait and they are very professional.

In the end, my cat died. We think he may have had leukemia. Dr. Ponce, her assistant and I were all weeping as he relaxed into death in my arms.

They were delightful, my dog was completely at ease with the whole staff. The offices and exams rooms are clean and it was easy to schedule and appointment.

They are very friendly. They seemed very concerned and they are very courteous as a whole.

They have a clean office and they are good with animals. I have used them in the past and they always paid close attention to every detail. I can't remember how much this visit was but their prices are always reasonable.

I like that the doctor who performed the service was very courteous, knowledgeable and professional as so was the rest of the staff. In general, they are all just very good people to work with.
