They were on time and came with plenty of help. I really like that they texted us 2 days before the appointment and gave us a card with our next appointment on it. They did a great job and made it very easy to work my schedule. I would recommend to anyone

I could not be happier!!! I came home from work to a clean house. Floors looked amazing, carpet vacuumed, blinds cleaned everything dust free. My bathrooms looked great as well. I finally realized that I needed help but was so worried but I worried for nothing. I am just sorry I didn't start sooner.

If you care about your belongings in your home, don't use this company. I started having American Housekeeping clean my house in Aug of 2017. The cleaning was done every other week. They were to clean upstairs (approx. 1400 sq ft.), but in addition were to clean the basement full bath each time and alternate something each time in the basement. The cleaning was done in the beginning by different people each time. Some cleans were done great and others were not. They never knew what to do downstairs and if home, they would always ask me. Several times the toilets were obviously not cleaned, as there would be an orange ring around the bowl after just a couple days. Their Signature White Glove Service, as their brochure stated was only followed by some of the teams. They didn’t follow their 45 point service list most of the time which is what I thought I was paying for. I contacted them on several occasions with various concerns. The last straw was just a couple of cleans into a new schedule (due to various complaints). They broke a cabinet door front in half on my triple long master bath cabinet. I’m still not sure how someone could actually break a cabinet door front in half. I was never given an explanation other than a note left by the cleaning team. They were always honest and would either tell me about a broken item, or leave a note. They obviously never reported these to the office manager. Upon calling them to resolve, although nothing was said to her by the cleaning team, Marcie was very nice in the beginning. I explained how big the cabinet was and that I had concerns I wouldn’t be able to match the door front due to the cabinet being over 9 years old. I was obviously concerned the entire cabinet would need to be replaced if I couldn’t find a company to match the door. She said the owner would want to come see the damages. Alex, the owner, never called me to set up a time. When calling back to ask when they would be contacting me to make arrangements, all of a sudden I misunderstood them. Marcie acted like I misunderstood the entire conversation and that I was going to handle everything. I did tell her that I wanted to resolve the damages, as I didn’t trust them to do it to my satisfaction, but I was never told that Alex wouldn’t want to see the damages. After that, all kinds of excuses were made to me about settling this. They blamed me for not understanding what they said, accusing me of saying things I didn’t say, and even disagreeing about what damages they said they would pay for. All I was asking, was for them to make it right with my master bath cabinet, and replace the rugs they had ruined with their vacuum. All of a sudden I had never mentioned anything about the rugs. I had mentioned these twice to Marcie and once to Alex. They broke several items in the beginning and at different cleans which I didn’t report. Even though I thought this should not happen when cleaning a home, I realize that accidents do happen. Even though I have cleaned my own home my whole adult life and have never broke things like this. Towel rack was pulled off the wall, two different decorative shelves were broken off the wall. They vacuumed area rugs that should have been shook, pulling the rubber backing off the rugs and ruining them and finally, the cabinet door. One time due to their schedule changes I had to be home while they cleaned. I was in the garage and could hear them very roughly cleaning and banging around in the master bedroom. I went in and asked one of the girls if they could be more careful. I’m not sure if she understood my concern due to the language barrier. She just nodded and said ok. They have a good system of notifying you of your clean time via text, but they were constantly making changes at the last minute. I called several times complaining of this. One day my scheduled time was changed three times. It was typical to change once or twice. I even fired them due to my housecleaning not being up to good standard, items being broken and the constant last minute changing of the clean time. Marcie the office manager called me the next week apologizing, offered discounts and offered to have my clean done by the same team each time. This was a team that had done a satisfactory job, so I agreed to them coming back. Just a few cleans into the new schedule with the same team, the broke the bathroom cabinet door in half. I did have the cabinet door front remade by the original cabinet maker that thankfully was local. Although it was the same cabinet front and stain, it wasn’t a perfect match. I will be reminded every day when I see the cabinet of their careless cleaning. I did get reimbursed within a couple of days upon submitting my receipts and pictures for the damages.

The staff were very professional and did a wonderful job! Detail work such as baseboards, blinds, glass sliding doors, etc. were all done very well. I will absolutely be using this service again and again and have referred them to others. The pre-visit estimate meeting was great. I felt very comfortable and confident in their service. I also received a follow-up phone call to make sure everything went well. Great service!

They do well with basic house keeping. They do not do extras unless I ask, no carpet cleaning, walls, woodwork other that some wiping down, no kitchen cabinets with out request. If I am in the home and ask for the service they are willing.

We originally signed up for 4 hours of cleaning services per week, and have been being billed for that. The crew has been finishing an hour to 45 minutes early even though we're being billed for 4 hours. I called American Housekeeping of Utah today to let them know we need the price adjusted as we were being billed for 4 hours each week. I spoke with Marcy who proceeded to tell me the cost was charged per assignment so it wouldn't affect the price. Well I told her surely she was mistaken because when her estimator came out the first time to quote us a price she gave a lower price and said it would take 3 to 3 and a half hours to complete the job. I told the estimator that I wanted them to do a thorough job and because our home is so large I'd like them to stay and clean for 4 hours. I was then quoted a higher price for them to stay 4 hours. Marcy was full of excuses and told me she was well aware of how long her crew stayed each time, yet they still were continuing to charge us for 4 hours per week. I made her aware we had cameras throughout the house and so we have documentation of their arrrival and departure! Marcy (she claimed to be the manager) was lacking in customer service skills which made me even more upset and she hung up the phone on me! I then called back and received a voicemail where I left a message for the owner or supervisor to call me back asap. Marcy called me back and stated, "Oh I see here you are on my list of people to call to lower their cleaning prices." What a load of crap!!! I told her to just cancel our cleaning services with their company as I was not going to play games or deal with an unprofessional and dishonest company! Then she started telling me our phone conversation had been taped and she didn't like the way I had spoke to her!!! I told her to call the FBI and have me arrested then! Unbelievable!!! We were paying them over $1000 a month for cleaning services and this is the way they treat their customers??!
Response from American Housekeeping of Utah
"Other companies will charge an hourly rate which can create an incentive to work slowly which drives up the price of housekeeping. We provide a bid price to complete the job which a customer is able to either accept and hire us or decline. While doing business for 25 years, we have found that flat bid pricing is our preferred method as opposed to hourly rates which is clearly stated on our agreement which this customer signed. Often times we will decide to lower customer prices after our initial bid. This can happen when we become more familiar with the typical conditions in a clients home. In summary, we have charged the customer exactly what we initially proposed and what she agreed to. In addition to our attempt to provide the customer with a fair price, we have experience and expertise in cleaning technique. We do our best to exceed customer expectations and when we fail to do so, our customers are free to cancel service at anytime. There is no time commitment to our services and we will cancel service upon the customers request for any reason, no questions asked. As a business owner, I'm disappointed to hear that we failed to meet the expectations of this customer and will learn from it and strive to do our best with every future customer."

They did a great job on my wooden floors. they looked like new. they dusted vacuumed, washed kitchen cabinets, I was very pleased. I think it helps it I have a list. They were friendly and polite and watched my dog to not leave outside doors open for him. The 3 women did a great job, arrived on time. They are coming 2 times a month.

I paid for a deep cleaning of approximately 950 square feet. The two women who arrived on time were professional and friendly. They worked exceptionally hard for over 2 hours and did a remarkable job! My floors have never been this clean. It was so nice to spend my weekend doing things I want to do rather than cleaning for hours! I have scheduled them to come every 2 weeks at a cost of $109.
