"Against better judgment we did go way way out of our service area to bid this job. The customer called and specifically ask that I come look at his job. We do NOT service the area he lives in and have not for 6 or 7 years. That said Daniel was given many options at time of bid. First and foremost he was advised our Bobcat WOULD be accessing he area across his existing driveway as there was no other acces and as it is heavy equipment there is always possibility of damages. We also advised a pump truck be used to pour the mud at a cost of $500. Homeowners declined stating they did NOT want to spend the money. We talked about the sprinkling system and again was advised we would find the line and almost guaranteed we would damage it as we would be using equipment. I did say we would do the best we could to repair it but advised it be double checked before we poured concrete for the reason stated above and we do NOT mess with homeowners sprinklers. We did form the job and go home for the evening the following morning as is our daily routine we double check our forms for depth. There was a slight hump in the center and it was promptly cut down to proper grade. The driveway was formed with standard 2X4's as is set standard in the industry. This give a minimum nominal 4" pour. As to our measuring we pull string lines again as is standard in industry and we check it with out grade rakes which are designed and built to proper height so a quick running of the rake by the side of string or under the string tells us where we stand. We did in fact have droppings from the bobcat as we transported the concrete into the pour area (one of the reasons we so strongly recommend a pump truck which was declined). We swept and cleaned with shovels the work area. We also went with wire brushes 3 times and scrubbed the spots lessening the appearance. When asked about further cleaning we advised acid would damage the new concrete and advised the darker spot will in fact bleach as the sun hits it. Again had our advice been listened to and a pump used we would NOT have this. I URGE people to go look at our work. Daniels job turned out very nice has a fantastic finish and should give many many many years of superb service."
