I got ripped off! within minutes they had replaced a $10 part (capacitor) and said that will be $240.00 when I balked and asked how much the part cost he said let me get the book ( a book he had made up with pictures and prices.) and it was still blowing warm air so he put in 2 lbs of refrigerant.. again back to the book. 1st lb $110 and then $55 per pound. He never diagnosed the system to tell me why I have a leak in a nearly new closed system. I kept the old part and looked it up $8-12 for the part. I believe I was the victim of an organized scam. I consider them a criminal organization and I think most of these reviews are made up by them.I got ripped off! within minutes they had replaced a $10 part (capacitor) and said that will be $240.00 when I balked and asked how much the part cost he said let me get the book ( a book he had made up with pictures and prices.) and it was still blowing warm air so he put in 2 lbs of refrigerant.. again back to the book. 1st lb $110 and then $55 per pound. Not very good.  Frank, the owner, showed up as promised and on time.  He quickly diagnosed the problem to be a defective capacitor which he replaced.  He then started adding R410A freon to the unit.  I did not authorize the freon to be added.  Additionally, the system quit working because the capacitor which starts the fan motor failed. The system was cooling very well until that time, indicating there were no freon leaks.  Frank, however, started adding R410A freon to the system without my permission.  After I found out he was adding freon, I asked him why he was doing it.  He said it needed freon and so far it had taken 4 pounds of R410A at $45 a pound (which is ridiculously overpriced).  I told him to stop putting in freon because he told me the system was leaking and I responded by saying it would be a waste of money..  I told him that I didn't want to waste money on very expensive freon only to have it leak out.  I asked him if he could locate the leak.  He said he could, but that it would take a few minutes or all day to do so (at $60 per hour labor charge).  I didn't believe him when he said the system had a leak because it was blowing very cold just before it broke down.  He invoiced me for $320 which was $180 for a $30 or so capacitor (as an line entry on the invoice it was shown to be $180).and the balance was for freon.  I questioned this practice of showing flat fee for labor and parts. I told him I believe it was done to mask the cost of labor and parts an I told him that I had a problem with paying $180 for 10 minutes to install a part that cost $30.  In the end, I agreed to pay $180 for all work he had done.  I don't believe the system was leaking freon and I do believe there was an attempt to charge me for overpriced freon that was never put in the
a/c system  I will not use this contractor ever again.  It was a bad experience. I do not recommend him unless he changes his business practices.

We've used Kuhn's Home Repair and Air a few times for different things, like changing out light bulbs we couldn't reach and changing fire alarm batteries. They do a good job with basic things like that. Their quality of work with basic home repairs are good. But we thought they could do plumbing work and they do not. They had to take out some tiles in our shower to do some plumbing work. The whole plumbing job was beyond their knowledge, but they did it anyway. We didn't know that what they did was not a good job, until it started leaking. They never told us it wasn't done right or anything. So we had to call in a new plumber and tile person to fix the damage that Kuhn's did. We feel they should have told us that wasn't within their expertise, so I would not use them again. It was also an expensive job.

They came out and was very professional. The tech explained everything to me and how much it cost. They didn't even mind me watching! He was very kind and answered any questions I had. He finished the job and it was the price he quoted even though it was a little harder than normal. This was the same unit someone else came out and said I needed a "new unit!" They were GREAT!

These are the only people I will call now that I am in town. Frank and Mike (McCage) have been to my home each of the last two years and have done top notch work. They are very professional and make sure your work is done right. I can't imagine calling anyone else.

Came to give us an estimate as promised. Returned on a number of occasions, delays due to manufacturer warranty issues. They were outstanding and went above and beyond what we expected.
We have had them return to do work on another project and will continue to use them in the future.
I have recommended them to several friends.
