H & R BLOCK

We have used H&R Block in the past & had good experiences, but this past year things didn't go so well. Most annoying thing was it was partly our fault- after we finished filling out all of the forms, we realized that we had forgotten a check to be able to do direct deposit so we quickly ran home & came back thinking the preparer could quickly take it & let us sign the final forms. When we returned, he had started with someone else, so we had to wait a long time until he was finished, even though other preparers had breaks during that time. Besides that, our preparer just seemed like he wasn't very sure of what he was doing- especially when it came to our out-of-state tax form. We had to figure out a couple of things together. While that was just an experience with perhaps one person, I was also disappointed that H&R never responded to any of my complaints about our experience after it had happened. If you know someone good at H&R, go ahead; otherwise, buyer beware.
