Alpenglow Solar

Overall Experience: D-. The only reason I followed through with the project was to support the community solar project. Price: A. There was a large discount through the community solar program. Quality: A. Suniva panels are working great and are made in the US. Responsiveness: F-. Worst company to communicate with throughout the entire project. They said they would call in a few days at each step of the process, and I had to call them 2 weeks later each time. I tried to address some of these issues with the owner part way through the project, and he seemed too busy to listen to me for longer than a minute. I also tried to find out why the panels were not installed the same way as in the proposal, and I am still waiting on an answer. Punctuality: D-. They arrived on time only 2/7 times. Once they did call to notify me they would be late. One time they did not show up or call to let me know they would not be coming. I called them that day after the no show, and it took over 24 hours for someone to respond. Professionalism: F-. At one point an employee just flat out lied to me and stated that a visit was done when it never happened. They sent the wrong invoice at one point. Another time they wanted a subcontractor to complete a vent relocation and leave holes in my roof for a week without covering them until the roofing subcontractor could come the next week. I stopped this and arranged to have the plumber come the next week myself.

Everything about this company has exceeded my expectations, and I'm two years into having the solar product that they installed.  They are still genuinely interested in my satisfaction.

It went very well. The bid was right on. They were on time for all meetings and work done. They were slow to invoice but very accomodating to spread over billing cycles. All employees were pleasant and friendly.

We participated in a bulk solar purchase project called Summit Community Solar, in Summit County (Park City) Utah. The project was in conjunction with Utah Clean Energy. Once we had indicated an interest in solar, Alpenglow reps met with us at our home to evaluate the orientation of our roof in relation to the sun. They designed a customized system based on review of our power bills and history of use. We couldn't quite afford the full system, so they reduced the number of panels to stay within our budget. (This is an incentive to look at more ways to reduce our power, and the system was designed to add more panels later if desired.) Because our roof was original 1970's it needed to be replaced. Alpenglow made the extra effort to coordinate directly with our roofing contractor to install the solar panel brackets as the roof went in, and then came back later to install the panels. Once the roof system was in, they coordinated with Rocky Mountain Power directly for the installation of a net meter. Overall, the Alpenglow team gets excellent ratings in all categories for exceptional communication in terms of scheduling the work so we knew when to expect them, their punctuality, the courteousness and efficiency of every one of their representatives including their installation crew, their overall project management working with the roofer and the power company, and the follow-through of their office staff in providing paperwork prepared by them to make our job applying for state and federal tax credits totally turnkey. This is an exceptional company making the world a better place.
