Halifax Flooring

Month and a half, and still not done. They messed up the order, have dragged their feet every step of the way fixing it, and never get back to me when they say they will. If they get your job right on the first shot, or you don't know enough to tell when they mess up, then maybe you'll feel like your experience is better. But I have a very low tolerance for incompetence and lack of accountability, especially when trusting someone with my home. Not as bad as Utah Flooring and Design, but not much better. That is far from a compliment. That company also had great reviews, but tried to hold funds hostage until I'd sign something agreeing to not write reviews. Halifax hasn't done that, yet, but just seems to conveniently forgotten I exist. Addressing this via my insurance company now, but wanted to put this out there to maybe help someone else avoid this same trouble.

After researching this company I went to the showroom to look at and discuss flooring options. The salesman was pleasant, answered our questions, made some recommendations and scheduled an appointment for an estimate.
Rowe arrived as scheduled, did some measurements, clarified the type of flooring we were looking for and emailed us a bid.
We had a few issues with the install. It took longer because the materials they thought were in stock had to be ordered, and then the LVP install left big gaps next to the baseboards. There was some miscommunication between sales and the installer. The installer said he couldn't get right up to the baseboards, and expected new trim to be put over edge. Rowe assured us that the LVP would go right to the edge. While it would have been nice if there were no problems, at least the way they handled it was exceptional. They worked with me to resolve the issue and ended up redoing parts of the floor and putting in quarter-round next to the baseboards on the rest. They were really concerned that I got an install I was happy with.
The carpet installers did a great job, and now that everything is fixed, I'm very happy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Halifax Flooring.
One thing I would suggest to the company is to improve their internal communications. We asked them to give us a bid for carpet removal, but we ended up doing it ourselves. We told at least 4 people at the company that we'd taken care of it, but they kept calling to schedule carpet removal. When the installer showed up, he thought he was going to have to do removal that day. It even showed up on their "final" invoice. We did get it resolved, but it would have been nice if that was taken care of after telling them once.
