"Member, I am sorry that you still feel I am responsible for your furnace that was approaching 3 years of dependable service, [2 years beyond] any warranty obligation that I owned... I fixed a leak in your homes venting system [a leak outside any warranty obligations that was your due] I think you should feel fortunate that you caught the leak when you did, before it resulted in more serious damage... I checked with my suppliers and they said they could not warranty the perfectly good parts which showed some water spots,,, First of all the parts were still working fine and the furnace was still working great... second, even if the parts were bad, it is questionable if the factory would replace them with the water spots on them... It is not my fault you waited nearly three years to have your furnace examined... the water damage & leak derived from normal wear & tear, [expansion/contraction] of venting/plumbing systems within the home [not within the furnace itself] My letter clearly explained all this criteria to you and my letter also offered to help you get spare parts for future replacement [just in case you have future complications with the water spots] I offered to deliver these parts at drastically reduced costs... I also spoke of billable service work far outside any warranty work that was your due... You have not paid me for my trip 60 miles away from my headquarters [and a half a day of my time] performing maintenance work in your house... I feel that I tried extremely hard to help you, and I tried to be more than fair about it... I am still willing to help you maintain your HVAC equipment if you will only show some honesty on your own part related to "Building Maintenance" 2 years beyond any warranty obligation that was your due... I told you that I would give you those spare parts that you [don't need in any urgency, if ever] I requested payment @ ZERO mark up [essentially free from my point of view] and I told you that I would waive my service call fee to maintain your house... I am still willing to give you these mentioned services if you will show some responsibility towards maintenance work in "Your Own Home" and some appreciation for my expensive service work, 60 miles away from my headquarters.
