As the Concrete truck left, they checked the cables and reported that the Cement Contractor had caused a failure in Cable #2. The cement was not yet dry, and they said there was nothing that could be done at this time. They immediately billed by credit card number for the final payment. I tried to stop the final payment but American Express went ahead and paid them. Wasatch Radiant promised to fix the problem by locating the bad spot in the cable, digging up the cement and repairing it. But as soon as American Express paid them their final payment, I never heard from them again. I AM STILL SHOVELING SHOW after spending $36,000 on a new snow-melt driveway. The Thermo Cables are normally under warranty for 10 years. But Wasatch Radiant put a sentence in their agreement that said they would not warranty the Cables.
Description of Work: Wasatch Radiant was engaged to lay THERMO CABLES for a Snow Melt Driveway System. Two other contractors were involved. 1. tear out and lay new concrete, and 2. hook up electrical systems to power. Wasatch Radiant said they would be on site during the concrete pour to monitor and assure all goes well. They were the "expert snow melt driveway contractor." The Thermo Cables that they ordered for my job did not arrive until after they had already started. They used older Thermo Cable for Cable #1 and Cable #2. Then used new cable for Cable #3, #4, #5, #6. After laying most of the Cables, I noticed that they went back and spent a lot of time on Cable #2 (as if something was wrong). They finished the Cable laying and left for the day. Two days later the concrete was poured.
