Buyers remorse to the max. The period of time between making payment for the work and any action at all was 12 months. It took that long to even be told a date that work would begin. A work schedule should have been determined when the payment was made and was not. 67 phone calls were made to the business in that period, and only 6 were returned. Repeated visits to the business were unproductive to get any attention or priority in their schedule. Finally, the initial phase of the job was completed, removal of existing retaining wall and haul off of debris and dirt. Several dates were stated by them to complete the job, and all were missed with no communication as to why they did not do the work when stated. Two more months pass, and the hillside is beginning to fail, and they did not return to complete the work. This was a two to three day job, that just would not get done. Legally informed them of breach of contract with a ample chance to recommence work, and it was ignored. Communication with the owner by phone informed us that the business had no money to complete the work. Water feature had been selected and still sits on their property and has not been delivered or installed/and no communication to schedule that work has been made. The scope of the job had been scaled down after a year, and the deposit with them was actually over the bid amount. No funds have been returned. To alleviate the safety issues with no retaining wall, we had the job completed by another contractor within one week of the expiration of the legal notice.
Description of Work: Replace deteriorating retaining wall, deliver and install water feature.
