When your water heater goes out, you want service fast. I called in the evening and was able to book service for the next day. Great! The plumber called in the morning and said there would be a delay on obtaining the water heater (propane, so not terribly common.) I informed him the heater was available Standard Plumbing in Ogden for $495 (to me, without pro discount.) Whoever answered the phone the previous evening knew this because they had to call to check inventory but failed to pass this on to the plumber that would be doing the work. No big deal to me, but mentioning in case internal communication is important to you. He said he normally used Standard Plumbing in another location and thanked me for the info and said he'd pick it up and come on out. He arrived soon after and did a great install. He noticed the expansion tank was unsupported and strapped that up before pulling the old unit. Installation and testing went well. My only gripe is price, which was the same as others I called for estimates. The company pulled in about $170 an hour for the plumber's time beginning from the morning phone call to his return to Ogden (I live in Ogden Valley.) Crazy!

They are very prompt but are not able to do basic plumbing services.  The plumber they sent could only use a chemical to clear my drain, but said that as the water is draining so slowly that this would not work.  I also had a leak dripping into my crawl space, and because of health issues he is not able to go under the crawl space.  I have had them out once before, and a similar issue that they really couldn't do even the basic plumbing, and always had to call in a second plumber.

The washing machine was plugging away doing it's thing.  Next thing I know my wife is yelling for me since the basement wash room was flooded.  Cleaned up with the shop vac and started looking for plumbers.  Now the interesting thing here is that only 2 hours before I was on-line and looking at Angie's List for some reason.  Since they offered a military discount I said why not and signed up.  Well, imagine my surprise when we had that little flooding problem I just described.  I logged on to Angie and pulled up plumbers.  I did make a selection on ratings but also factored in a $30 discount from A Rentmeister Plumber in Ogden Utah.  The man I talked to was the owner and said his son would be by as soon as he finished up another job.  Keep in mind that this was on a Saturday.  NO ONE has plumbing problems M-F between 8-5, do they?  Tim showed up about 3 hours later.  This wasn't a problem because I had cleaned up the water and stopped the washing machine.  No more flooding but no more washing, either.  Out comes the snake tool and down it goes into the void.  I was beginning to wonder if there was enough length to it as it kept going and going and going.  Finally, a little plop and the problem was solved.  Tim cleaned up, I paid, and all was good.
Now, here comes the strange part.  Six weeks later my wife gets a knock on the door.  It was the Dad checking up on if we had any more plumbing problems.  My wife says no and the guy gives her a pie made by his wife.  Says it's real good.  I've never received anything like this before from a service provider and was impressed.  The pie was good.  Don't know if this a normal thing but maybe you'll get lucky and get your own pie.

Well, this is a renter home...

The vanity sink he did install keep leaking, he came back 3 times to fix it and still leak, now renter has moved in the first day they moved in... I give up, I am going to get new plumber...

I need to pay others plumber to checking the shut off valve which he replaced to make sure there will be no leak like vanity sink, also extend drainage pipe..  the new renter has complete moved in and not yet fully use water inside the house yet...

I am worried since only one small vanity sink keep leaking,  the first day tenant already report the issue.

I no longer want to waste time to call him back...

But he has very cute , big red golden retriever with him, his dog is so adorable and so obedience.

All went well. But I thought the cost was excessive. I supplied the straps, the installer installed the straps which required drilling 4 holes. Finished in less than an hour.

The disconnect and reconnect went very well.  Rentmeinster disconnected the plubing under the sink the day prior to an installation of a new countertop and sink.  The day follwing the installation they called and advised us they were running late, so we postponed the hook-up till the following day.  The epoxy used on the sink needed time to cure since it was an under-the-counter installation so I did not mind waiting a little longer before having someone climb under the sink to hook-up hardware and garbage disposal.  The job  took a little longer, but I wanted them to take their time and change-out anything that needed changing since this had not been done since the house was built in the mid-90's.  With cost of materials and time I felt it was in the ball-park of what I was expecting.  They did a great job testing the piping, garbage disposal and dishwaher drainage before signing off on the job.  I appreciated the calls before they were headed to the house as well as the call to let us know they were behind on a previous job and resheduling the following day.  It tells me they will finish a job correctly before starting a new job.  I would use this business again.  Very professional and good quality of work.

I called around to a few plumbing companies and decided to use the Angie's List book.  Rentmeister Plumbing's bid was a little bit cheaper than the other bids.  I had told them our address to make sure it would not be a problem since their office is further away.  They explained it was no problem as they are in Salt Lake City often. After they installed the water heater, that night I noticed a gas smell.  I had to call them and explain that we had a gas leak.  I ended up calling a local fuel company to fix the gas leak rather than wait for them to return.  However, the fuel company could not figure out how to turn the water heater back on.  Rentmeister Plumbing did return to turn the water heater back on, however the pressure was off and they explained I needed to have an extension tank.  At this point he told me he could do the extension tank for $100.00 but he would charge a $50.00 fee in addition for mileage.  I know local companies that would charge me much less, other companies compare at $75.00 for an extension tank.  Originally they said that coming to Salt Lake was not a problem and now all of a sudden it was a problem.  It seemed he just wanted to gauge me so he would not have to come back again.  I am disappointed because I was told the mileage was not a problem.  I am now looking for a new plumber to install the extension tank. If the mileage was a problem they should have been upfront and I would have gone with a local company.  It is an inconvenience.  They should have been honest and upfront with me.

He fixed the leak in the basement with no subsequent problems with the area and he did a great job clearing out the drain in the shower.

They followed through with what they said they were going to do. They were quick to respond and they were thorough. When they found something else wrong they let us know what it was and what they were doing before they did the work.

There wasn't a set time they were to show up. they called prior to the job before ours. Were courteous, and not bothered by our small children's or the dog's curiosity. Explained what was done and why. Explained what was causing the knocking and figured out how to quiet the knocking without making it into a big huge repair. i was impressed and it is already starting to feel cooler in the house after only 30 minutes. We've already recommended this company to a co-worker.

They arrived right on time. The tech actually walked me through all the work he was performing. I learned a lot. He made suggestions on the filter too. We had a pleasant conversation while he was working.
