We have been in business for over 50 years. I have been operating the business since 1987. I continue to do the majority of the repair calls and have 2 highly experienced installers. Trustworthy, competent and efficient. Highly recommend father and son team, Jim and Blake. Our doors are ancient but performing well with the oversight and maintenance of Steorts. It has been many years since they have even needed to replace parts. So thankful to have them. They know the mfgr. history of the equipment we have. There has never been a push to replace this older but still functional equipment. Trustworthy without fault.

If we could give a higher rating, we would. Jim Nelson is the best. He is very familiar with our aging equipment and keeps it running smoothly. He has a wealth of knowledge as is not hesitant to share suggestions about keeping things running smoothly. Would not consider calling anyone else for repairs or service.

My garage door over years of use gave out. I honestly didn't think it could be fixed but knew I needed to call a professional. I was referred to Steorts Garage Doors. Jim was extremely helpful in talking thru the problems and came out same day. Not only did he fix the garage door to better condition than what it had been for years, but his fee was very affordable. I was more than impressed!!

We called on Wednesday night about 5:30 pm and received a call within an hour. Jim was able to stop by Thursday morning to give us an estimate. While the garage door could have been repaired, we went with a new one. Jime was able to get it installed that day and did a great job. He also adjusted the garage door opener and went over what maintenance was needed on the garage door. We're very happy with the new door and the work he did.

Repaired warped garage door and adjusted bottom to reach garage floor at a low end. On a previous service call he serviced the garage door and checked everything and discouraged me from replaceing the whole door, and by doing so cost himself a sale and several hundred dollars; which demonstrated high integrity. He is very prompt and when on the previous call he was delay, he called, eventhough the delay was fewer than ten minutes.

I called 5 garage door businesses, and went with Jim. He answered my call immediately, and gave me the most competitive quote. He was also the only one who offered to come out on Saturday, without asking for an additional weekend service fee. He was prompt and professional when he came out, and answered all of my questions. We were very impressed, and we would absolutely use him again.

Upon receiving my request for service Jim, the owner as I recall, inspected the garage door sealer that had been recently installed and ordered a replacement. He always kept me informed of delays in consequence of receiving the replacement door sealer and subsequently called even because he would be late by jut a few minutes to install the product.
Before removing to bottom sealer that had been previously installed, he showed me how it had it did not fit to the door and how was short of being flush with the door, which caued binding with the structure.
Jim examined the door and motor and advised me against replacing either anytime soon, and check setting and also lubricated the moving parts.
Both Jim and his employees were very courteous and appropriate in appearance.
Sorry, but I am unable to upload pictures that I took on Jim's recommendation.

Jim was very helpful, installed the lock, programmed the remote and showed us how to open our door manually should this happen again.

Jim came to our rescue after the main rail of our garage door broke and we couldn't close it. He arrived within a short amount of time that day and was able to repair the broken rail with an extension. He also serviced both doors while here. My husband has worked with Jim/Steorts since the house was built some 25 years ago. He has found him to be a person of integrity, with a strong work ethic, and whose work is very fairly priced. We would recommend him to anyone.

Jim was very thorough and knowledgeable. His replacement of an inexpensive bushing on one door has given us a nice quiet smooth operating door. Apparently this bushing was not replaced when a spring broke some years back and it was repaired by a different company. Jim showed us what we can do for routine maintenance. We couldn't be more pleased with the work done and the attention to detail Jim displayed. Our equipment is old and it was reassuring to have someone who was familiar with our door manufacturer and older model openers. Both doors and openers are amazingly quiet now. Would highly recommend.

I used AAA on all my properties but the transmitters weren't working because of a problem with the mother board yet they charged me to replace the receiver a week after they put in a new unit for $400. I found Steorts on Angie's list and this guy was 25% cheaper. He was a bit late but cleaned up after himself and even synced the in dash remotes in my cars. Good guy. Use him

The Tech. was the owner. He called and said he was going to be about a half hour late and arrived right on time. That was much appreciated. He quickly removed the old and broken springs and replaced them with upgraded new ones. He then checked the operation of the the garage door opener and checked and lubed all the rollers. He also gave me a great price compaired to the other companys I checked and called. I would highly recommed using this company and will in the future.

He was very punctual, quickly made the repairs and additionally suggested repalcing 2 rollers to make the door quite. He also tuned it up at no additional cost. Door works great and is quite now.

Jim was prompt in replying to my initial inquiry and to coming onsite to both quote and repair.
He serviced my current older style garage door and it is now running a lot smoother and quieter than it had been.

I was thrilled with the service I received from Steorts as well as the overall price. When I contacted Jim, he quoted me an approximate price right on the phone. Then, he came out and measured the door size (we only have a single-car garage) and showed me the different options for color and style. He examined the area inside the garage and told me what needed to be moved so the men could work. While he was standing in my driveway, he called the office and ordered the door I needed and set up an installation time. He called 2 days before scheduled to remind me when the workmen were coming and to make sure I was ready for them. The men arrived on time and got right to work. They were very nice and efficient, asking me a few questions about my preferences and so on. They finished quickly, showed me how the door worked, and left. It looks so beautiful now. I regret that I waited so long to get a price quote on the door because we have lived with a broken garage door for several years and we never had an opener. This is truly a luxurious feature for our home now.

Jim was awesome. Couldn't have been nicer or done a better job. Came out on a Saturday morning after I called him late Friday afternoon. He was even nice enough to pair our cars to the opener after I gave up on figuring it out myself months ago. Highly, highly recommend. When my current old opener needs to be replaces, Steorts will be my first and only call.
