Solar Panel Installation
I paid $7,443.27 in July 2025 for a ground-mount array that we wanted 10 feet from the south fenceline. On Aug 4 the owner of Reeds Solar Designs LLC asked me to mark the location ?so we can get started.? I replied that I was out of state and would mark it when I returned. On Aug 14 he left a voicemail ~20?30 minutes before arriving and began installing in a different spot without my authorization. When I objected, I was asked to pay more to relocate. Several paid-for items were not left behind (e.g., DC disconnect, PV wire/MC4 connectors, labeling, mounting hardware). I?ve filed complaints with Utah consumer/licensing agencies and am pursuing a court case to recover costs. During the dispute, I received texts from a number claiming to be a DOPL citation agent but was actually James Michael Reed (read it yourself, it's entertaining, especially since only one person would accidentally include a BBB complaint number for a DOPL complaint); I reported this to DOPL and our county attorney
