Chris was very helpful with troubleshooting our water feature.  He correctly diagnosed the problem and referred us to the appropriate repair.  He helped us better understand our water feature.

The estimate was complete and details and the work started on time.  There were some delays in completion but they helped other customers who had emergencies.  The workmanship was excellent and they cleaned up after themselves.  Everything looks professional and they added some additional material at no additional cost.
I am looking to make additional changes in 2014 for my pond and I will be contacting them for the work.  They are honest and professional.  I have worked with 3 other pond companies and non of them have the expertise that Utah Ponds has.  If you are looking to build a pond or upgrade, believe me when I say there are a lot of 'experts' but very few actually know what they are doing.  Stay with a reputable company and not just the best priced.

Our old water feature was professionally built four years ago by a landscaping company and slowly deteriorated due to severe leaks and poor design.  Our water bill was huge because the auto-fill kept replacing lost water. It finally got so bad that we stopped running and taking care of it.  We did not spend time outside because the defunct water feature was such an eye sore. After meeting with Devin at Utah Ponds, it became clear that we needed to either remove our water feature or rebuild.  He carefully and thoroughly explained the details of his proposal so that I clearly understood all charges.
After deciding to move forward, Devin consulted with us every step of the way, making aesthetic, structural and biological recommendations so that the water feature could sustain a healthy ecosystem. He understood that our goal was to incorporate fish and safely overwinter them through the coldest months of the year.
Devin kept me informed every step of the way throughout the construction of our new pond and waterfall.  He and partner Nick worked extremely hard for five full days, choosing to continue straight through the Labor Day holiday so they could get the job done quickly and to my satisfaction.  They used the best equipment and filtration systems suited for our waterfall, pond size and future fish population. They also provided plants and a selection of koi.
The end result is a spectacular water feature that far exceeds my expectations!  It is truly a masterpiece that will last many, many years and I couldn't be more pleased.   I can't wait for our plants to fill in and the fish to grow.  It's going to be stunning at night with the lights that Utah Ponds will install.
Under the expertise of owner Chris Hellstrom, I firmly believe there is not another company that is more specialized than Utah Ponds. Their fees may be higher than other landscaping companies, but they know so much more about the specifics of water feature construction.  Additionally, they guarantee their work and the warrantees of the equipment installed. Had I hired Utah Ponds in the first place, I could have avoided wasting thousands of dollars on our first water feature that was not built properly.

I will definitely hire Devin, Nick and Chris at Utah Ponds for future outdoor projects and enthusiastically recommend their services.

I found them on Angie's List.  I have no complaints at all.  They were very good.  They did everything they said they would do.  The first price they quoted was too high, so they were able to modify the job so that we could afford it.  They did the work in a very timely manner.

My experience with them was great. They were on time, fast, friendly and understanding. They were all around a good company. They did a good job, and the work has held up great. I would rate them highly and would definitely use them again in the future.

THIS COMPANY IS AWESOME!!! I went to a local home show in Salt Lake City, UT. I was specifically looking for contractors that would do a very small water feature project. I know that they were at the show to catch the big fish. So, I was very subdued as I spoke to various contractors. Enter Chris (Owner) and Nate (2nd in command) from Utah Ponds. For starters, they had a very simple display. Other exhibitors had these HUGE, elaborate setups that were just jaw-dropping. Chris' display was a bit more innovative. Instead of bringing in all of these boulders, trees, shrubs, dirt, pavers and flowers to make this grandiose presentation, he did something far more innovative. He had a Ford F250 that he built a water-feature in. He had an EXTREMELY impressive DVD that he GAVE to me, along with a beautiful marketing slick that showed a great deal of his projects. When we got back home to review all of the literature, we ended on Chris and Nate at Utah Ponds. At the show, he kept saying that his company wouldn't leave you high & dry. You hear that all of the time from contractors. But you KNOW that as soon as they have your $$$, GOOD LUCK TRYING TO FIND THEM! Well not Utah Ponds. Again, my project was very small. It took a few trouble-shooting trips AFTER I had paid them! This had nothing to do with their expertise. It was more a function of the unique obstacles that were present with my location. I was thinking that they would put me out 2 weeks before coming back to fix it. Nope. Chris and Nate were back at my house the VERY DAY I called in the trouble ticket! Utah Ponds is a total class act. Their prices are so unbelievable, you immediately think "You get what you pay for." I don't know how Chris and Nate do such great work at phenominal prices. I'm just glad that I was fortunate enough to find them. I like their work so much, I will be giving them my patio project next year. They came in 36% lower than my lowest bid. After seeing their work ethic, professionalism, artistic genius and personal pride in their work, I can't justify NOT going with them for my outdoor projects. UTAH PONDS ROCKS!!!
