INSTAR PEST CONTROL

My wife and I signed up for quarterly service starting mid 2006. We woke up one morning with gnats in our bed and discovered a gnat infestation on the other side of the wall. We called and requested service. The Instar receptionist told us it would be three days. We explained that we needed someone that day and if they could not make it then we would be changing to whatever service could make it that day (4/8/2008). Instar did not care. We did find someone else to come out with same day service and consequently called back to cancel services. We were told our services were canceled. Then toward the end of the month we received a notice for quarterly service scheduled on 9/13/08. I called back to remind Instar that we had canceled service. Only this I was informed that they required 30 days advanced written notice and suddenly these folks became real contract sticklers. I sent a fax back dated to the 4th of August on the first notice of cancellation. This fax was ignored. I specifically told the receptionist that they were not to send anyone to my home and that someone had already come and sprayed from another service. They came anyway. I called back and was told that there was nothing they could do and that I would have to talk to someone named Jeremy. I was given a cell phone number for this person and left multiple voice mail messages these were also all ignored. I filed a better business bureau complaint which also went unanswered and ignored. This company has already begun the slipper slope in their rating with the BBB. Instar attempted to charge my debit card multiple times. Then without having ever even returned a single phone call, decided to send us to collections. I had a credit rating in 780s until this company decided to begin misbehaving themselves. Eventually, only after Jeremy could claim ignorance about being able to do anything since the issue had already been sent to collections, I finally did get a call back from him...9 months after I left messages for him. Jeremy told me on the phone that he believes chaos would ensue if he permitted customers, which I believe he views as subjects, to cancel with a phone call. Please save yourself much pain and do business with a pest control company that actually cares about customers service. This one does not.

The young man who came to my home is a partner in the company and very professional. He sure knew what he was doing and very informative about the product he uses. A very courteous man and knew what to talk about with me to help understand.
